Cassidy, I hope you are aware that some of us with typical height tend to lean down when talking to someone of shorter height (whether due to a difference in body height or positianal height) to put us both on similar height for perceived mutual convenience (eye contact and hearing) and social standing? It isn't intended in any way to be demeaning, infantalizing, or even without thinking. In recent years, I find myself either explaining my initial tendency or askig what is comfortable. I don't know if that is better or not, but I am at peace with myself about it. When I worked in physical security, it was as important that we quickly understand each other as it was that I didn't seem disrespectful.
