Hahaha yes! The ever present “plan” for the youngest to go to her big girl bed. But then she snuggles up or has a bad dream she needs comforting through and you think “I am so glad she is here”. Dual realities do exist 😂

Hi! I'm here from Bri's channel. There should be a notice that homeschool moms will want to take notes! I am all set to rewatch and write some of this down so I can remember some of these good ideas.
We really like World Watch news as well. We tried a few news sources and it made my oldest daughter anxious to watch them. I like the idea to have a news journal too. What great composition practice!
I also had to get a screenshot of your beautiful kitchen! We are planning to build a house and your kitchen is gorgeous! Do you have a house tour video?

Welcome here! I’m so glad you found my video helpful! 👏 I keep getting asked for a house tour so I will try to do that soon. ❤️

New follower/subscriber here! I only have two littles but am very inspired by all your endeavors with a larger fam. Two questions: how did you even begin to research curricula and do you and your husband make intentional effort to spend one on one time with each child (and if so, how/when?)? Thank you!

Hey there, welcome! I honestly watched a ton of RUclips videos on curriculum, but also tried several until we found what works for us. I have curriculum videos as well! As for individual time, yes, we do, but we also don’t stress about it either. We try to do “special days” with each of the kids as we are able and take them out for their birthdays. But then we also homeschool so one-on-one time happens naturally throughout our day as we are working on projects, cooking, or doing school.

New to homeschooling 👋🏻. When it comes to being at their desk or signing off on their chores. When setting that routine, what were the consequences (if any) for poor time management and showing up late or signing they did a chore when clearly they did not. I have started something similar with my 2 girls (8 & 9) but they are struggling with getting up and at their desks by a certain time. Chores they are doing them half-hearted or not at all but marking their sheet. Suggestions would be great 😅

Hi there! We used to take a privilege away when this happened, and in some situations we still do. For example if they signed that they did a chore when they did not, we might tell them that they can't do anything with friends for a week. I have found it more effective, however, to set up a reward system. They get a point for good behavior, a point for getting chores done (I check), and a point for getting school work done M-F. When they hit certain thresholds of points, they earn prizes. This is great motivation!

Thank you so much. I love the reward system idea and had not thought to implement that as a motivator for them. I appreciate your time and hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.
