  • This video follows our once in a lifetime experience trekking to Everest Base Camp. Throughout you will get a glimpse of the amazing views, as well as the beautiful Nepali people and their culture. We also included some of the valuable lessons we learnt and share inner thoughts and challenges. Click play to take the journey.
    Mount Everest Base Camp. The trek gives amazing views of the tallest mountain on Earth as well as the opportunity to take beautiful photos of the Himalayas, Nepali people and their culture.
    Your equipment is one of the most crucial items to think about when getting ready for a photographic expedition. Bring a solid, trustworthy camera that has a wide-angle lens for the expansive views and a telephoto lens for close-ups of the mountains. Additionally, pack additional batteries and memory cards because you'll probably take a lot of pictures while hiking. If you have two camera bodies, bring them along. On day two of the journey, I had to use the second body since the memory card in my 1st camera had broken inside the memory card slot. There are a few camera shops in Kathmandu to get you out of trouble.
    Usually, the trip starts in Kathmandu, where you'll meet your guide and get ready for the expedition. You will next take a flight to Lukla, where the journey begins and is 2,800 metres above sea level (9,186 feet). The walk itself lasts 12 to 16 days and travels about 130 kilometres (81 miles). Arriving to Kalapatthar, a viewpoint that provides the closest view of Mount Everest, is one of the trek's highlights. The peak of Kalapatthar towers over the nearby mountains, providing a very breathtaking perspective. The mountain looks its most magnificent in the early morning light.
    For a guided trek, make your bookings to Mt Everest Base Camp through Nepal Tibet Treks www.nepaltibettrekking.com/ , they took care of everything, I highly recommend them.

      @@sauravkumarsinha1981 I heard the same when I was there in March. Locals were saying that from April 2023 Guide is must. I don't have much idea now.

      Glad you liked our video. I had a look at this video ruclips.net/video/LMYgjK74sUo/видео.html to give me some idea of what to do if I start to feel the altitude and also have a Blood oxygen meter to check levels. www.amazon.com.au/Fingertip-Oximeter-Saturation-Batteries-Australian/dp/B09VBLV4TG Hope this helps.

    Hey, that's an amazing video! Thanks a lot. Wanted to know if you found any particular hardships or risks in your experience apart from the once you mentioned in the video? Do you think it is apt to go there in September for someone as old as 60 yrs of age?

    • @studio80sydney97

      Hi, Thanks for your kind words on the video. September should be fine although I would advise going later In the month if you can to ensure good weather. The main hardships we faced were;
      1. the Altitude - the best way to fight this is through intentional breathing and keeping a slow a steady pace. Also making sure to take acclimation days and not push yourself- listen to what your body is asking from you. If you stay ahead of loosing your breath you should be fine.
      2. Toilet Paper- no where provides toilet paper so make sure you have a roll or two in your pack
      3. Bad Weather/ Low Visibility- we went in off season so this was the price we paid but if you can go closer to the end of September/beginning October that's more ideal and you will see more on the day to basecamp. However the crowds can be quite intense in peak season.
      4. Flying to Lukla- the weather also impacted our flights and ended in us having to pay $1000 extra for a helicopter and rushing the hike. Leave at least an extra 4 days as a buffer when booking your return international flight as safety for unforeseen weather. Especially if you are going in off season.
