Can you do one of these for a person who has wavy hair?
Because wavy hair is as different from Straight hair as it is all the types of curly hair
We're having a hard time too 😭😭
We're All having a hard time
Good luck ladies and gents and thems and theys 💓💖 with that Hair of Yours
Oh
Dear Refinery, enjoy the curly cut videos from the chanel but most of us doesnt have specialist in the country that knows curly hair hence please do a video to how to style curls without cutting it that we can try at home
We need more curly hair experts in the salons!!!
Yes please! I write this as I'm sitting here looking like a jacked peacock after someone recently hacked off my hair because they had no idea what they were doing!
Bro, its called a black beauty shop
@@shayslay3416 okay but even those aren’t common. Why can’t we have a variety in one salon?
Some people think that going to a black hair shop is best for curly hair but they'd be mistaken. Black hair shops specialize in hair straightening and branding, whereas curls like the ones in the video require a specialized cutting technique. Many people, including myself, have had their hair brutally butchered and end up walking out of the shop looking crazy because of stylists who don't know the proper cutting technique. Going to a black hair salon isn't going to guarantee that you'll get a curl specialist, unfortunately.
@@shayslay3416 I went to a couple of those thinking they could style my hair and what I ended up with was a hot mess. Just ‘cause the stylists are black does not mean they know how to deal with 2 and 3 type curls.
Like wut?! They are both DROP DEADD GORGEOUUUUUUUSSSSS
She looks very beautiful. And the curls are also beautiful
that stylist killed it. this was a good one
wow! she looks incredible!
Yessss curly girls!
My hair looks exactly like hers before 😱 I wish people could do this type curly hair here.
I love natural curls!!
We need to embrace our natural beauty ladies!
Be kind to yourself and your hair!
It'll reward you for that extra kindness.
Also! We need for curly hair experts in salons!!
Beautiful results!
I swear Google knows my first curly cut appointment is tomorrow...
That looks gorgeous 😍
Lol I can relate to her family not knowing what to do with her curly hair. With a straight-haired mother and a bald father, they weren't a lot of help. 😂
Yooo SAME
Omg sameee
Omg Yes. To the point I became a hair stylist.
SaME
sameeeeee, i come from an asian family and literally my whole family has straight asian hair
To be fair, the stylist’s gorgeous curls were a hint that this was going to turn out well
Yepp
Possibly but she could have had someone she works with do hers. More than likely she did hers and she has a great head of hair. Just gorgeous
@@jenniferholmes6644 thats true! Also she has access to expensive hair products
Not entirely true. I've had my girls cut by women who have straight hair and it came out great. It's really about experience. I had one girl who was black/mix cut my hair and unfortunately it didn't come out as good as her own hair. Maybe she just wasn't used to my type of curls? Oh well.
She has coils, not curls
Her curls are sooooo *BEAUTIFUL* ✨✨✨✨
Edit : the curl expert did an amazing job!!!! 👍🏻
+diptisingh 100%!!!
The expert's own curls are gorgeous, which was a good sign right off the bat.
HER HAIR LOOKS SO GOOD
@@woudgy I agree 100%!
These curls are GORGEOUS! The curl specialist did an AMAZING job, especially by taking her time to diffuse slowly and properly. Ugh, everything about this video is SO BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy your amazing curls, beautiful lady!!!!
+sarahb Thanks for leaving this thoughtful comment here!
I really wish every person that has curly hair gets a treatment like this. A PROFESSIONAL CURLY HEAD HAIR DRESSER. I’m so tired of them pulling my hair, brushing vigorously and then just washing and blow drying.
She looks soo amazing. Love Sabrina. both ladies are beautiful!
exactly, do you know how many people I've come across that didn't know how to cut my hair bc it was curly?? it's so obnoxious
Can you do wavy haircut next please? My hair isn't that curly but it's too wavy that straight cuts just don't do it and just asking for layers doesn't always work because the hairdresser still cuts it like straight hair.
Yessss!!! I can relate to this so much 👏🏻😩
I know for sure they shouldn’t cut your hair like straight hair. For curly and wavy hair they should be cutting it in individual sections according to the pattern of your hair. Cutting the wrong curve or part can mess it up for sure.
Same I have wavy hair but have no idea what kind of cut to ask for
My hairdresser basically cuts layers in two different ways and cuts the few strands with real curl individually. Maybe thats an option for yours too!
Its really nice because my waves get a lot of movement, and the curls look like its done with an hot Iron. Just naturally
Wavy haircuts are not that different from curly hair cuts. A lot of times, with the right cut and products, wavy hair will become a lot curlier (speaking from experience as someone with wavy/curly hair)! Almost all hair stylists who do curly hair cuts also do wavy cuts, bc they're under the same umbrella of techniques. I'd look for curly cuts in your area and go to them. They'll know what technique to use, rather than you go to someone who cuts straight hair.
I have a lot of respect for those who spend that much time caring for their curls - the stylist says it takes her 12 hours start to finish. That used to be me, but it was so exhausting and at the time I was going natural there really weren't the products and resources and individuals like her that specialized in curly hair. Mine was so thick and dense, the kind that breaks off combs and brushes LOL. I've now been rocking a shaved/bald head for a number of years now, I truly do love it, sometimes consider going back to a curly fro and then I remember all the work LOL. But their hair is beautiful, shoutout to them and their curly hair journey. Looks amazing.
How bold! I love women that rock low cut or shaved hair 🥰. I myself am a former curly girl and couldn't stand the maintenence of it lol so I finally gave in and started rockin locs. Best decision ever 😊
Mine is wavy thick and so much of it! Idont have patience to make it look ‘pretty’ anymore. Ive cut it short and thin it out as much as possible. I dont think its worth givin up so much time and money on hair
I hear people tell me they’re jealous of my curly hair, they wish they had it, it must be so easy to just get up and go because it’s naturally styled, etc. my experience is a lot like yours, though. It takes a good hour of work in the morning to wear it down, plus a lot of daily maintenance and expensive products. If only people realized that the biggest bummer about curly hair is that you don’t get a choice about whether or not to spend all this time and money maintaining it. I hope the short hair life is working for you!
12 hours is crazy though. I think she's calculating her pre poo time in there too.
+gabrilleutsey Thank you for sharing part of your hair journey with us! 💕
*Me who has completely straight hair with no curl whatsoever*
"I must watch this"
Same. Although, I now feel inspired to take better care of my own hair, and re-embrace styling it.
Same
Ha ha you will understand the challenges of your curly hair girlfriends now! Most of us get cuts from straight hair stylist and end up looking like poodles 🐩 afterwards 😂🤗☀️
I wish there was a curl expert in my area! This came out beautifully :)
Same! It’s soooo hard to find one.
What area are they?

Literally just gasped and yelled OH MY GOD when did the reveal. Sabrina did an amazing job at bringing her curls at, like holy crap!
Her curls are glowing and she looks stunning, the stylist did an incredible job!

I love curly hair transformations!
+ericaquint Us too!
When the hair dressers hair looks phenomenal you know it's gonna be good. I have curly hair and it's hard to find a good hair dresser!
The hairdresser ‘s face and hair is EVERYTHING!!
brb booking a flight to see this stylist 🤣
Right? I’d totally travel to have her cut my curls. My stylist is good, but he cuts it straight.
i would like to see a video with an expert cutting thin fine britle hair as many of us have it and turn it into something amazing and full looking!
From a hairstylist, your best bet is going to be styling to get it looking more full! A good cut can definitely help but you can’t create what’s not there. :) Biggest tip when getting your hair cut, less is more for fine thin hair. Ask for a blunt cut with internal layers and texture.
@@emilycummings04 I totally agree with the blunt cut method I do it myself it its amazing but still would like more videos on actually fine thin haired people as all videos are done on beautiful luscious hair and it's not really helpful!
@@Grace.Shelby. there's already(hundreds of ?) thousands of hairstylists who can (only) take care of straight hair, so videos about curls are uselful for the curlies out there who can't find real curl specialists. Cause typical hairstylists don't even learn about waves, let alone curls, in beauty school, which isn't right at all. Most of us rely on YT
@@personne6600 straight hair is a different story than thin fine hair.. There's like 3 of then all the others advurtise being about thin fine hair but the model always has gorgeous lushius hair so doesn't count! There can be more things for both people with my problem and also for curly hair no competition :)
@@personne6600 pretty sure the person is talking about fine, curly hair. Not straight hair. I also like seeing examples of fine, curly hair, because that’s what I have.
I need a step-by-step guide on how to diffuse my hair properly because every time I try my hair just ends up a frizzy mess. Nothing more frustrating than spending hours on your hair just to have it look like you got electrocuted!
Try using a moisturizer like Shea’s curl enhancer. Then add a gel that has really strong hold like the green gel from Curls. After letting it dry for a few minutes start diffusing. If you don’t like the crunch the gel has you can get rid of the cast by scrunching the ends with oil. Also try looking up a step-by-step guide on how to diffuse from someone who has your hair type. Hope this is somewhat helpful:) @Alexandra Adams
@@redietyilma1878 You're an angel. Thank you!
I found the Cocunat products thanks to a colleague, I tried their gel and, honestly, I never had curls so well defined... but it's pretty expensive :/
Watch Manes by Mel videos. She has one that really helped me achieve good results. I was awful with the diffuser
There's an amazing RUclipsr she has a video about literally everything about curly hair her channel is called "manes by Mell"
It turned out so good. She did an amazing job💖
+tammybrown We think so, too!
Finally! One of these episodes where the hair actually looks really good!
The girls in the previous episodes watching this: 😮
Ikrrr
I'm so glad that she discovered & embraced the beauty of her curls. Also, she needs to stop touching her hair! It makes it frizzy. This is coming from someone whose hair went curly one day in my 40s! I love it and I had to learn to care for it. Rule one...don't touch it!
+dianadee Thanks for sharing this tip with us! 😊
Uh oh.
I like to separate my curls for volume, so...
@@greatwavefan397 You can seperate them gently after it's completely dry. But make sure your hands don't have any moisture on them or it kinda 'drags' on the hair. I also use a bit of oil on my fingertips so the hair doesn't stick to my palms. Hope this helps :)
I know right! The slow motion scalp scrubbing clips at the beginning were driving me nuts!
Same thing happened to me when I turned 40. Stick straight to wavy hair. I am still learning how to take care of it.
They really are bringing in better Stylists yeaaassss!!!! 🙌🏽🤩
What she said at 5:56 is SO TRUE!! Like go delete every hair pin you have that isn’t obtainable for you and start pinning hairstyles that are. It’ll make you feel better and get excited to make your hair the best it can be.
She's so beautiful 😍
the expert went OFFF in this. incredibleeee
Beautiful girl, beautiful hair!
Super hairdresser!
I think she would look so good with another 4 inches off or, maybe more. I find that when I grow my hair too long, it drags my curls down. Layers are a must for volume at the top of the head. The stylist did a lovely job and her hair looked much healthier. Very pretty and she seems so sweet.
Wow, what a transformation! Her curls are gorgeous. I have type 2B hair, which is technically a wavy hair type, but it's curly enough that I've been to multiple stylists who didn't really know how to work with it properly. (She mentioned stylists always blowing it out after cutting - ugh, so true!!) It really does make such a difference to see a stylist who is well versed in curly and wavy hair types.
i wish you guys would also give resources or links to people who are Curly Hairstylist/Specialists and where to find them!
4:08 I can diffuse while laying down in bed!? Omg. Life changing.
You should start a hair repair series
Yes, please

@@greatwavefan397 cute!
I have the same hair type as Sabrina, so I felt it when she said her hair is a 12-hour process 😅
ok, but how much of the new haircut look is attributed to the conditioning + diffusing + gels versus the actual cut?
Her hair looks absolutely beautiful!!! Mine is also curly/wavy but tbh it takes too much work to make it look pretty that ive given up on it lol especially in this pandemic😓
She’s SO BEAUTIFUL. That childhood photo was a true beauty ✨
Wow! Her curls are amazing! And the cut is spectacular!
Agreed!!
She is so pretty! ♡ And what a fabulous hairdresser.
I recently got my curly hair cut by a professional after 12+ years of going to Supercuts. My stylist recommended diffusing my hair but I’ve come to realize it ruins my curl pattern so I can only air dry, does anyone else with curly hair have this issue?
I did for a long time, then I just learned I was using a really bad diffuser and diffusing the wrong way. Try the Xtava Black Orchid diffuser and watch Manes by Mell diffusing video. Game changer.
My hair is kinky-curly and air drying works best for me because my hair is high porosity. I wrap my hair in a towel for minutes or so to pull out most of the water. It dries pretty quickly after that.
Same here until I tried diffusing with cool and then cold air. Works for medium or fine hair
My hair is frizzier with the diffuser. It takes quite long to dry (a few hours) but it looks better as long as I don't touch it too much. So yeah, air drying works best for me.
I have curly hair and do the following:
Shampoo and condition but only brush out with wet brush or comb in shower with conditioner in my hair. I never comb when I’m out of the shower
I use mousse and a leave in conditioner. I never rake it in with my fingers, I kind of gently wipe it on my hair with mitten hands
I flip upside down and use my diffuser on medium heat with low blowing speed. This might not be the best option but I found that the less blowing power means less flying around of my hair so my curl pattern stays decent
It’s so sad to see beautiful girls, with a head full of curly hair and they haven’t been educated on hair care. Curly hair is a gift. Just need to know how to work it!
@5:44 what?!?!? it takes the stylist 12 hours from wash to styling to drying her hair?!?!? 😳 That is A LOT OF WORK. I kept thinking I was hearing her wrong. Wow.
Wait TWELVE HOURS?! Committed 🙏
I hope that’s 12 hours per week as opposed to per day 😟
@@elizabethchanda7800 Oh it IS per week. With natural hair you can't wash it every day. That's one of the first rules of curly hair that I've learned this past year.
Love love love curly transformations, the hair stylist totally understood her hair. Know we need a curly balayage or color video. ❤️❤️🥰
+nickrod Coming soon! 😉
I love this ! My curls were always brushed out as a kid or braided because my family didn’t know what to do with it coming from straight hair parents. I remember being embarrassed when hair stylist used to complain about how thick my hair is and I remember getting uneven cuts :’)
Sabrina and Melina are both rocking awesome curly cuts
+everythingella 100%!!
Her curls are beautiful, just like her energy. It is so beautiful that we are finally embracing our textured hair and encouraging other textured hair folks to love their hair. With the proper cut and products, the potential is endless. Side note, her hair looked beautiful with no layers and no product in it too!
I live in a very small town. And no one knows anything about curly hair. I started the curly girl method about 2 yrs ago. It makes me so sad that I can’t get a hair cut or advise from a hairdresser. I got a color a while back and she dried my hair by raking her finger and fluffing my hair. After my hair was big and bushy she then asked if I wanted a cut. I of course said no thanks because if she can’t dry my hair how was she going to know how to cut it. I have embraced my curls just wish I could feel the way the girl in video felt after. I am 42 and have never had a haircut that I’ve actually liked. So I just don’t do it.
The hair stylist us so pretty tho!! She done an amazing job on the clients hair!
Why would people give this a thumbs down?
Not everyone likes curly hair
@@vanessakrugman2781 I have straight hair but found the video interesting and informative. I shared it with my curly haired friends. :)
"Hi my name is Sabrina.....the teenage witch" was I the only one that thought of this ??
It helps when the stylist has curly hair. The list of requirements and extra charges and how they can turn you away if you have knot are so disheartening for my daughter. Our area does have curly hair specialists but they are scary. Love this!
The diffusing process is not "timely," it's time-consuming.
But this treatment/cut is great.
Huge difference between the before and after. Her hair looks luxurious with those beautiful curls. People pay good money to perm their hair to look like her natural curls.
Girl went from wavy to CURLY whuuut 👁️👄👁️❤️🙌
I love the defined curls look a lot but I also really love when my hair gets frizzy:)
Such a stunning woman and her hair reflects that too with those defined bouncy curls, I love this transformation
+kyramisos29 Thanks for being here!!
Love your hair Melina and also, how beautiful is the stylists hair?! I have super straight hair and have always been kinda jealous of those with beautiful curls. 💕
So, my hair is wavy. I have tried diffusing my hair. And it looks great and full of body for the first hour. After that it starts to look limp and frizzy. What can I do?
Maybe try different products or use less products in your hair. Rinse with cold water and never towel dry, use a cotton t shirt !
Also don't diffuse on a v hot heat
they are both gorgeous!! wish i had a curly hair specialist in my area!
Look up "find a stylist/curly hair salons near me" on devacurl website. I'm sure you have somebody that specializes in cutting curly hair in your area or close to it. You could also check out "find a rezo stylist" at the rezohaircare website, but the rezo cuts tend to be twice as much money as a deva cut. Good luck and hope you find somebody!

I used to have really curly hair and over the years the texture changed to something more wavy.... I miss my curls 🥺
I feel you I used have right kinky hair that used grow out in an Afro, it’s kinky but it grows more downward now. It’s really weird
Same thing happened to me 😩
as your hair gets longer its more weighed down so that could be it or the products youre using, doing tight hairstyles that starighten the hair over time etc.
The haircut looks great on her! And both the client and the curl expert are gorgeous. I also really liked the curl expert’s mindset about embracing your natural hair type. ❤️
I went to a “curl specialist” once ended up leaving with a pixie cut. She said that my hair was “nappy” not curly. I have 3B hair 🤨
Watching this made me feel so much better about my hair routine. I always feel like I should do more. Always room for improvement but I'm so glad there's a light being shed on us curly girls.
For once the hair dresser didnt do a shitty job.
Loved the before . Natural curls without product OD are the prettiest to me .
Finally curly hair videos
Melina is glowing! Such a beauty
I think her hair would have looked better with way less product
True too 80s spiral perm
I had no idea her hair would be that curly 😍
I’m 57 years old, and only learned how to care for it until about 2 years ago.
THIS. This is the hair I want. I have pretty much the same as her hair was before and I really want more volume layers and curls and long fringe honestly I might just go for it
I 100% get this client. The Pandemic forced me to reckon with my curls on my own and I can honestly say RUclips curly videos were a Godsend. I now have super happy, ridiculously bouncy spiral curls au naturale... because I finally know what the heck to do with my hair!

12 hours???? Nah sis...the stylist needs to follow Iamblackgirlcurls to shorten that wash day to wash hour...geesh!
It looks pretty no doubt. But a genuine query, why do they call embracing your natural curls when they use so many products and gels and heat to make it look like that? It’s not natural, it’s styled. And it’s pretty, but don’t call it natural. That’s just putting pressure on people who don’t have time or money or access to these styling products/appliance to think that their trully natural hair is ugly and needs to be fixed. Natural is different, styled is different.
My natural hair is like her but all my life, I have never embrace them. 🙈 but looking at others styling their curly hair always looks amazing on others but I don't know why I hate it with my round face. I'm trying to learn to love them but I just can't 😭

Beautiful. Sabrina is gorgeous
Twelve hours to style her hair?! Why ?
Seriously, I want to see THAT video. Just the highlights ,of course !
I think she's probably counting the time it takes to wash, condition, and do any 1 hour deep moisture treatments. Then, when she's done - combing it out and individual strand styling takes time. After that, if your hair is very thick and curly, it could take hours before it's totally dry (if you air dry).
@@MissTXTee thanks for the info. I have curly hair, but have no idea how to do individual strand styling. Sounds time consuming. Now I get the 12 hour thing.
@@debrah.4065 Yeah, there are tons of videos on YT about the technique. It doesn't take hours, but it does take some time.
