My only complaint is that the bosses keep getting pushed between the door and the armor. I'm not even trying to push them there but it always feels like cheese.

Well here's the explanation from another dude at the cutescene after you defeat Ishin, Owl places "something" near Isshin, it was actually Genechiro head. Another factor explained this was in the beginning, Owl had only 1 sword on his back, but after Sekiro defeated Isshin, he came back with the 2nd one - which is the 2nd mortal blade owned by Genechiro (You might recognized this in other endings). => Owl went to kill Genichiro while Sekiro was fighting Emma and Isshin. :> Sorry for my bad english.
Well, thanks for showing me that Fire Shield blocks every single Ashina-style attack without taking damage. I was struggling to beat Isshin in my own Base Vitality/AP1 run.
This is just a joy to watch, i really struggled with ISSHINS second phase and ONGBAL makes it look so easy. What's great about watching these clips is it makes me want to improve, because every time i watch i say to myself i want to be that good!
Boy, this was an absolute blast to see, I absolutely adore the Isshin fights, he’s super tough and makes your brain go 110% faster. But if you know the tells of his moves and how to counter them, you feel like two gods locked in combat, and it is epic. I had to say though that I didn’t really like playing against Isshin Ashina’s second phase. It was aesthetically amazing, with Isshin wielding a mighty blaze, but the attacks were hard to dodge and if you get hit with any of his fire attacks you will start burning no matter what, and I played him in NG+3 so he was hitting like a truck and your posture means everything, so burning was never ideal. However if I knew about this Sakuza strat, my life would have been made a LOT easier
Ikr Now I'm wondering why didn't I think of the sakuza umbrella. Fire isshin in NG+4 with kuros charm and sinister burden is easily the hardest boss I've fought so far. Instead of avoiding his fire attacks I just focused on stopping them. Firecracker on reaction when he starts up his BS.

We can deflect ishin one mind with sword but you will still take damage from the air slashes which happens after the sword slash of one mind so umbrella is the only way possible to completely deflect one mind without taking any damage
The craziest and most impressive part of this fight are the umbrella deflects. I was wondering how you weren't taking any guard damage and then I realized that you were constantly releasing the umbrella during the One Mind assault. God tier shit.
It's a shame it's impossible to fully deflect One Mind. You can get 3/4 of the fast ones. By the way, you can be more aggressive on Isshin in general, attacking after either of his two basic moves works. Regardless, job well done, and I'm a fan of the umbrella strats ^^
I feel like umbrellas are the most underappreciated proshtetics of the game. They completely nullify some of the most annoying attacks in the game with ease and their counter-attacks are devastating. Isshin's One Mind and Fire attacks ? No problem as demonstrated above. Owl Father firecracker+slash combo ? Both nullified at once. The Headless Ape's scream ? A joke. The Headless and Shishimen ? Cakewalks.

I know I have to do this to achieve One Mind...but it just hurts so much man. After giving a certain sake she reveals how she has always cared for the wolf even during his youth. Ashina has been in war with the other clans the most. Masamune Date was the ultimatum due to the betrayal of one of Ashina’s top general. Isshin explains why the people of Ashina didn’t want to unite under Oga, Hideyoshi, and the final straw was Iyeasu and Masamune onslaught towards Ashina that led to what seemed like an inevitable slaughter. Before Japan was unified each clan had its own identity. Unfortunately shura ending is what seems to be the most realistic outcome of a man pushed to the edge of sanity. Sekiro is a tragic hero of the tragic era and unfortunately Emma was the first to taste the anger of a justified shura. Shura in a sense has achieved one mind. The one minded goal to end all life.
I’ve never seen someone analyze Shura like this, it’s really interesting. It’s said an incarnation of Shura kills for entertainment, but I think that is only half true. Perhaps it is just folklore spread by those too caught up in patriotic violence and political intrigue to see the bigger picture.

For example soldiers of the west will throw themselves on the floor and crawl to their guns if they hear fire works during Fourth of July. It’s a shell shock. Except historically during the sengoku era many young children and teen (remember Sekiro is very young and by the time he meets Isshin he is in his mid 20s) will randomly, like a sleeper cell, take their katanas and go on a rampage. That’s becoming possessed by shura is their version of shell shock. This type of symptom was actually portrayed well in the anime Rurouni Kenshin when kenshin meets shishio. Shishio is a by product of a person who went too deep. It’s like a sleeper cell, anything can trigger them. They can be at a ramen stall and a random samurai of a noble family will start talking about something that will trigger the afflicted person and the person will not only kill the officers but also innocent bystanders because they still value their own life so no witnesses.
This is a great video and all, but it has revealed something to me that I find horrifying... Ishin's body isnt fully present in his model. Its just the parts of his body that you can see, and then they're floating there. Look at the last few seconds of the video, around his ankle when he is lying on the floor. THAT FOOT ISNT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING. ISSHIN IS SOME SORT OF GHOST ZOMBIE MAAAAAAAN
I’m doing a 1 ATK/10 VIT playthrough (demon bell + no charm) and am currently on Great Shinobi Owl. Damn I do like no damage lmao. Side note: it took me 15 hits to kill Mist Noble and takes 2 to kill those piranha fish things

A thrust after Mikiri against Isshin is better than 1 slash. Unlike the 3 slashes you get against Emma. This is insane though, don’t think I’d ever be able to pull off such perfection.
I was struggling with this battle even though I already defeated him in his prime and it’s awesome realizing what causes some of his moves. One thing that usually led to me getting hit was him dodging, I noticed while watching he always backs away before doing it.

Bro wtf is your secret of getting this good at the game, I can confidently say that I am better than most of the sekiro players, I have mastered the game and have done a lot of fun strats to demolish bosses, but still I can never perfect parry every hit or do it without at least consuming a few gourds or taking damage. And of course this little health, whenever I watch you play it's a joyful to watch.

im an idiot....i spent ages using the umbrella on demon of hatred for my first 3 playthroughs, went for this ending, completely overlooked this and spent over 2 hours getting mauled in the fire attacks before i got lucky......*head slaps*
There are not many more satisfying moves in video games than pulling off a Mikiri Counter.

Heavy combat arts can stagger him canceling any fire attack he tries if your fast enough.
I'm pretty sure he's the only boss in the game to casually lean out of the way from your attack.

I was struggling with this battle even though I already defeated him in his prime and it’s awesome realizing what causes some of his moves. One thing that usually led to me getting hit was him dodging, I noticed while watching he always backs away before doing it.
Normies: sekiro is way too hard, add an easy mode please!

Wtf why is his isshin so simple and consistent with his moves. Mine does a ton of different moves and very very rarely does a perilous thrust

It's exclusive to her. If you look closely you can see Sekiro directing her attack to the side.

@@LoneWolf90Xiaolin that's part of Emma's combo. It just happens if you parry the last slash. Would be cool if you could use that on enemies as a skill though

If you deflect every attack perfectly your posture will never break

Bro wtf is your secret of getting this good at the game, I can confidently say that I am better than most of the sekiro players, I have mastered the game and have done a lot of fun strats to demolish bosses, but still I can never perfect parry every hit or do it without at least consuming a few gourds or taking damage. And of course this little health, whenever I watch you play it's a joyful to watch.

I had a hard time with Isshin luckily I'm on my 2nd playthrough and dont have to worry about him....but instead have to worry about his younger self

im an idiot....i spent ages using the umbrella on demon of hatred for my first 3 playthroughs, went for this ending, completely overlooked this and spent over 2 hours getting mauled in the fire attacks before i got lucky......*head slaps*
