A helicopter, aircraft carrier, armored mlrs rocket launcher, and a firetruck. I'm sure the fireguys felt a bit impotent by comparison lol, but they're still badasses.
3:42 *Anvil slides down into his death* 4:15 *Shockwave is in prison* 4:50 *Sub-Version is drowning* 10:24 *Mega-Hurts found dead while showcasing* 11:08 *Rhino go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* *insert time where Oblark is* *Oblark missing*
Fun fact: The fire service entry was supposed to be Mousetrap (Stan Launchberry being a member of that team with his son Jason). However, Mousetrap couldn't be made ready in time due to it getting mutilated by S3 so they went for Oblark.
That spinning bar on Shockwave looked deadly. It's a shame that their driving was not better. Craig Charles is such a charmer and yes Julia looks amazing, but I prefer Philippa sporting that amazing and elegant rubber top.
If there was a Robot Wars competitor Representing the Ambulance Team, "Panda Medic" would definitely be the one to do so. I also wish Mega-Hurts from the Navy would have a following incarnation to avoid confusion with Mega Hurts from Preston which also competed as Tut's Revenge and Mega Hurts Lap Top called "Giga-Hurts". Other Robot Wars competitors Representing the Ambulance Team would even be "First 8" and even "Slambulance".
Odd that the navy and army who deal with weapons all day, robots with zero weapons The police and fire service, who have no weapons, come in with the best weapons of the heat ??.?
If Subversion could actually float, that would have been an interesting entrant to techno games! I'm more convinced it was a shell filled with polystyrene or something though, and then credit goes to the diver who went underwater off the coast of Scotland just to let it bounce up for the video. Shame about Shockwave, but that was appalling driving. Anvil was too low for the weapon to hit but Subversion should have been an easy target, and it was never driven that way. One of the first spinning bar weapons I think though, but it would take Vader/IG88 to make them into something feared. Tauron is the one we're supposed to watch out for here in S9 though. Mega Hurts learned from the Forces melee earlier in the series, that's for sure, going for the vulnerable treads - hit the battery instead. Oblark vs Anvil is probably one of my favourite matches from this series, guilty pleasure! That's probably the most photogenic Srimech since Cassius started the whole thing, though Mute out-does it by S7. That must have been ridiculous pressure in there. I also have the suspicion they're the same team who entered Hose-A in Techno Games rope climb - Witney fire brigade both times. People claim the RAF is the 'soft' military force to sign up with, but that gives them time to think carefully about the design of their machines. Anvil and the entire Typhoon Series are well driven, simple and effective machines - that got perhaps just a tad lucky there. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that's the decision made, it was the right one, but since it wasn't taken at other times... again, the rules are just so flexible you begin to wonder if they're even written down.
I would say Fluffy was the first really great bar Spinner, who showed up in series 5 (and looks rather similar to Carbide, even with similar weapon weight and speed)
Oblark reminds me a lot of X-terminator 2 with that shape but also reminds me of the series 3 version of Vercingetorix with the front lifter/axe combination. It's a shame the police robot went out so early as I think it's one of the best there in terms of weaponry. Rhino was just awesome looking with those tracks, even if it wasn't very effective! Though, they did seem to have a lot of power. If their battery didn't fall out, I reckon they could've easily pushed one of the robots into the pit. I do love the trash talk they all chatted to each other! All the services puns each team were bring to each other was great!
I'm aware it's been axed, but I think Robot Wars should have another Armed Forces special with six or eight robots of the armed forces of the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force, and the emergency services of Fire, Police and Ambulance. AND they need to create these intros too because I have been hearing they are awesome.
Oh yeah, people have picked on Refbot. It's been flipped a couple of times and been attacked by competitors, even though it's actually the only 'friendly' house robot. It was designed to prize apart robots suck together, put out any on fire and also stop the house robots attacking competitors when they're not meant to, so it's actually on the side of the competitors, but that didn't stop some having a go!
Ambulance services belong to several different groups: You have the police and fire service's ambulances, and then you have hospital-owned ambulances, which belong to different companies and aren't a direct part of government services. So technically, ambulance services were included, as they're a sub-division of fire and police services. Then again, I live in the US. It might be different there.
Why wasn't typhoon in thi-oh, they wanted to make it an entire episode, not just 1 minute filler(which is what it should have been).Still it's robot wars,so I watch nevertheless.
Not the most effective, but certainly the best looking one. I preferred the emergency services' robots. The one by the fire brigade looked to be the best technical design and the spinning bar on Shockwave looked dangerous. Still, Anvil was the most agile of them, despite lacking any moving weaponry.
REME forgot the road wheels on the tank and the guts dropped out of it...... typical. The weapon was utterly crap, a dozer blade...lol! You boys have the imagination of a caravan site.
I'm surprised the police robot didn't use it's "Assaulting a police officer, your ALL under arrest, I WIN" card, because that is what they do to the public they are SUPPOSED to protect (AS IF). Bully, lie abuse and assault people then claim it was THEM who were set upon and get away with it EVERY time. GLAD they lost.
The team intros are still the best ever created. All these years and they've yet to be topped.
I know. Oblark came out of a fucking armored carrier! How beast is that?
@@kira-dk2mx I believe you mean Mega Hurts

Oh my god, those intros are gold.
The police one XD "I'm prepared to go down for dangerous driving" absolute classic XD
The team that had Shockwave also previously competed in past Robot Wars with Flirty Skirty in the second wars and Miss Ile in the third wars.
That spinning bar on Shockwave looked deadly. It's a shame that their driving was not better.

Oblark's flipper looked awesome. Would have loved to see it work properly. Also, lol @ the bottom of Oblark saying "Fire Exit"
Whoa, I don't think I've ever seen this! I thought I'd seen every possible episode of robot wars but fraid not...until tonight!
JP had way too much fun with this one
25:31 anyone else notice craig is so short that they have to have him on a box to interview them?
Imperial BMX that guy was 6'9" hahaha
The box in question is at 23:58 I believe. Can also see his feet and see how tall the man from the RAF team is.
they didn't exactly hide it.
He compensates by shouting, all the flipping time
Odd that the navy and army who deal with weapons all day, robots with zero weapons
The police and fire service, who have no weapons, come in with the best weapons of the heat
??.?
If it was american, the police robot would have been ALL weapon.
Fun Fact : Sub-Version Was Attemped To Enter The Fifth Wars, But It Was Lost To Corkscrew In Qualifier Battle.
I believe Sub-Version did eventually qualified for the Seventh Wars where they crashed out of their heat.
If Subversion could actually float, that would have been an interesting entrant to techno games! I'm more convinced it was a shell filled with polystyrene or something though, and then credit goes to the diver who went underwater off the coast of Scotland just to let it bounce up for the video.

Julia Reed looked amazing in her black leather pants 🔥🔥🔥

4:03, still can't believe that's the Flirty Skirty/Miss Ile team!
3:35 Woah, careful with the helicopter there Team Anvil, it was a little bit tipsy on the landing.
Another robot called Shockwave made by Team Shock entered in Series 8. It has no relation to the Shockwave that appeared in this episode.
and what interesting robots both Shockwave (the newer one) and Aftershock turned out to be
Little British kids talking shit is my new favorite genre of film.
THRUST FROM THE REAR
l can hear dead metal theme tune from UK robot wars
This was also Julia Reeds last appearance on Robot Wars.
I would love to see BattleBots do an episode like this.
lol loved how the crowed didn't know how to react to the hosts introduction.
It would have also been cool to have a Uniformed Public Services special.
The fire service gave us what Mortis could have been that year onwards, minus the exterior material
I wish the military and navy had better bots in this one.
only 6 inches but standing proud :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Giving the robots a pounding
I wonder if the refbot has ever ended up getting accidentally pushed into the pit?
Oh yeah, people have picked on Refbot. It's been flipped a couple of times and been attacked by competitors, even though it's actually the only 'friendly' house robot. 1:25 Thats an interesting visual
It looks like those military guys have plenty of free time to build those robots. I will report that to their commanders and get them some drill :D
is the world championship not available
Why was Refbot flashing a yellow card while using his fire extinguisher?
Coolkid1999 it means fire
or a worning
Sometimes the signals got mixed up, since in the days they used 40MHz transmitters which got interference a lot of the time
shockwave team had a robot called Missile in series 3
this is a joke, not a single team here has the faintest clue what they're doing
Julia is smokinnn
First episode in which I fell asleep while watching.
Extinguish their hopes :D
Why did they not include the ambulance service? They're important too you know.
Nicholas Jones they added firefighters tho ..odd

In the UK we have a government national medical service called the National Health Service (NHS) which has it's own ambulance fleets
Because the nhs ambulance service isn't a force, it's a service
Still would have been fun to see an ambulance-looking robot :)
Why wasn't typhoon in thi-oh, they wanted to make it an entire episode, not just 1 minute filler(which is what it should have been).Still it's robot wars,so I watch nevertheless.
30:14 out he comes
the fire brigade isn't an armed force... by their logic the NHS should be there to
The announcer Omg, hahahaha
Sub version's entry was the best one

Robots n Smack Talk, what could go wrong? :P
In my opinion these are the least exciting fights i have ever seen on something Robot Wars related
Crappy bots...
@@charlesharper2357 Taxpayers' money only stretches so far.
The army bot rhino was a terrible design
Armyboy89 another robot called Rhino built by a different team entered in Series 7. It has no relation to the Rhino that competed in this episode
I think it's literally an old bomb disposal robot that they slapped a little soldier on the top.
It doesn't look like it was built for combat at all.
Sir Killalot is a bomb disposal unit which was converted and that works.
I quite like the idea of a tough and powerful bot with great pushing power and the scoop to push with, but the execution wasn't great this time around
Terrible design, but it was a good looking robot.
Only the British would paint targets on their planes.
balls of steel m8
StrangeStickMovies dam right too
Iam happy anival win because they where the beter robot the entire fight glad dead metal action wasnt looked at that it was legit

All 6 robots totally useless.

Fair play , this was absolutely shit ,,,😆
aburridor... 40 minutos de solo aburrimiento
100th
These shows are not as good as the American version.
Lame robots. I expected better. Carbide would tear them all to pieces.
Tim Carney lame robot, I expected better. Sub-Version could tear it up into pieces.
Botomatic 1000 lame robot. I expected better. Rhino would tear it into pieces
OMG these bloody UK bots are absolute pansies!
razer is the best bot there has been and that was from the UK, same as chaos2.
