Keep scrapping & Have fun! - Хобби
Just seeing the early Holden ‘grey’ engine with the alloy rocker cover on it, which is worth about $300-500 by its self.
Man you are a busy boy holy crap your video's are awesome 👌
The Wombat was an Apple II clone back in the mid-1980s.
👍glad you got another pickup, ceramics are getting rare but Ben finds them growing out of the grass👍
Commodore monitors like that one are worth money either broken or working. Picture tubes and the flyback transformer especially.
Good job 👍🏿 100’000 subscribers yay 😁 love it 😊
100k subscribers...well earns Ben..best scrapping videos on RUclips....mate,even your junk pile is tidy
I just think it's wonderful! The joy this hoarder has brought to so many people in his passing, employment to some, finance to scrappers, restorers, recyclers, so many people hearing the joy and excitement in Ben's voice at his finds. Bless that guy and may he rest in peace. Take care, Poo
Well said, yeah the clear out guy will earn $10,000 for the job and pay a few as well
Leave it to Poos to find a way to turn a hoarder's passing into such a good thought. Thanks Poos.
Maybe someone will day that when I die?
@
eWaste Ben I think that the Wombat is an Apple II clone, probably worth a bit of money even in that condition. The keyboard with the missing spacebar at 5:20 has Blue Alps switches and they are quite sort after.
My first ever pc was a Wang one generation before that one in the garage. Feeling old now lol
Ammo can is where I would expect the CPUs be stored.
Thanks for sharing more of this interesting hoard of ancient hardware. The "Wombat" looks like an old Commodore, to me.
Tubs are filled. Again. Oh damn.
Those old gaming consoles sure do bring back memories! Another good pick up. Thanks for sharing 😎
The Wombat looks very like an Apple II. If so I'm surprised there was no branding on the motherboard.
This could be the missing apple one serial no 0001 thats worth $ 5 million. he he. (its not that one was hand wired by wozniak jobbs instead of copper traces)
Apple 2 clones are going for about $500 but
Looks like a Apple IIe
Possibly an Apple II clone, Lazar II
It reminds me of a computer my friend built in the 80s. It was called a Microbee I think. He soldered all the IC mounts, jumpers and board connections by hand. A whopping 80k memory if I remember correctly.
The Wombat was a Taiwanese Apple ][ clone imported and sold by a guy in South Melbourne in the early 80s.
Ben, it would appear there are no boxes of CPUs. Because, most all of the motherboards you got and PCs had their CPUs still on board. I smell a marathon or two. Enjoyed 👍👍
Yeah it's seems there won't be a box, I got maybe 6 loose CPU's but don't think any more then what is in the PC's or on loose boards. will have a video on all the boards and CPU's eventually
I would've made a few thousand scrapping out that house! Wow!
That is awesome all that stuff and you get the best of it still a bit to go then on to the next one happy scrapping two thumbs thank you
I just looked at your yard in absolute awe Ben, the joy of seeing all those beautiful components; mixed with a little gulp towards the hardwork ahead no doubt!! I just can't wait for these scrap marathons!!!
Ah Wang. The fun we had there, back in the day.
'Mr Wibble's got his wang out' and 'Mr Wibble's playing with his wang'. Seemed like endless fun at the time, until HR told me to stop and get back to work. Spoil sports!
Well someone had to ... 8)
Thanks for the update Ben... I'd love to get into that shed!!
I know it is a whole lot of work, but I personally would drop everything for 2 months and get all the gold out of all those boards. You have a bar of gold from everything you got from that house. That would be nice about now. Gold is like 1800 unless it went up,or get it ready for when it goes way up.
Ben thanks for sharing this video with us. Maybe you can get some awesome PC under that tarp yeah.
Wow you certainly scored a lot of cool stuff , must have been great fun going through all that old stuff to picking out not only the cream but all sorts , been enjoying watching you get all this stuff and pausing the video and having a look around in some on the scenes on the big tv in full screen ................. Thumbs Up
Hello Brissy, fancy seeing you here 😁
Super cool Ben cant wait to see your final haul. This place is a gold mine. To bad you could not have bought the parcel as is and scrapped the whole lot. Enough to keep you busy for many many days
Glad you are enjoying life Bro!
Cool old stuff. Yesterday I was in a business and they are still using an AS400, had at least half a dozen IBM terminals. Told me they have a spare AS400 if the one they are using goes out.
OMG - we had one of the MAC's ( 10:10) at a weather station I worked at many years ago. That was a flash back.
Great video
Can you do a big scrap marathon of this things you got there?
Yes i think i'll do a few short marathons
@@eWasteBen Half marathons
@@eWasteBen I cannot wait to see the scrapping of this stuff, I really can't!!!
@@eWasteBen if i had about 6kg of "low grade" boards would you be interested in seeing if your person from sa could buy off me?
Ik one out a washing machine weighs almost 1kg alone.
About time you did a a couple of scrap marathons, like to see a little of everything, some vintage some CBs and some screens... plus hard drives etc maybe a trip to the scrap yard see what prices are like and how much you can fill that van up with scrap... would be great... great videos thanks a bunch and keep safe
awsome video and grats to the 100 k ;)
Great Video Ben Keep Bringing The Video's Dude 👍👍
A once in a lifetime experience
been so interesting this has :P
Great stuff again Ben hopefully you will get the CPUs before they finish fantastic opportunity for you keep the videos coming
I hope so too
i was waiting for another video and here it is
On them CBs Cobra is a great one a Dixie is another great CB . I have a Cobra 2 and it's been trek out to ten miles, it's great for speed traps if I put a booster Amp behind it I can reach California from Ohio that's over 2,400 miles
Someone could probably swing a Metal Detector in that yard and get enough Ewaste to recover a gram or more of gold!
Have a Great Day My Friend!!
Wombat looks like an old Apple II compatible.
That Atari 6 switch one has value mate
some of those old cb`s sell for good cash even just for parts check them out before scrapping
Hi Ben. Great video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members. To all members also. Talk to you later my friend . ☺☺🙂😇😇😇
Thank you. Cool. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
Wow the old Schweppes Indian Tonic Water and Solo Lemon bottles from the late seventies early eighties. Collectors would give their eye teeth to have one bottle let alone two with good labels. Don’t throw them out worth real money.
Watching again. I missed the Atari 2600 game consoles.
You could grab the scrap from them also
I had one of those in the 70's...2600 atari....
A wooden Atari, just random waits in that house.... and 2 later ones aswell...
The wombat computer base looks like a comador 64 base.
Am am pretty sure that the wombat is an Apple 2
I agree.
have you ever had anything processed or processed for the gold in the products yourself/ and how did it turn out?
😀👍😀
I kinda disagree on the "Wombat" computer. In some cases, even the plastic shell could be valuable if it's complete. The discoloring can be fixed by oxygen peroxide bath under UV light.
Just catching up on your older videos. The “Wombat” as you probably already know is an Apple ][ computer clone. I have one of the first 50 made and have built my own clone way back in the late 1970s just for fun. There was a South American company that Apple went after for ripping off their intellectual property. It was one of the first lawsuits of the time. Steve Jobs got so burned by this. Later, when the Macintosh came out, in the BIOs code, an Easter egg was built in that if you knew how to read the contents of the bios out in a certain way it would say “STOLEN FROM APPLE COMPUTER”. This was used several times in lawsuits later.
Cool. ☺☺☺😇😇😇❤
That is a expensive little engine that has the propeller on it! Thimble drone engine .. probably worth 50-70 bucks
THE HUMAN DUDE AS ALWAYS IS ALL THUMBS UP
Your a mad man workaholick... hope you buy that good farm n land and get to chill for a bit .. but i expect you wont mate xx . Love
Ben have you ever scrapped an old Tube radio or tv and found anything worth saving besides the tubes...... Dave Sparta North Carolina
Please do a vintage marathons scrap out🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
i cant find anywhere around me that takes circuit boards. heaps of scrap metal tho. dont think we have the market for boards
The Wombat is definetly an Apple II clone.
Hi Ben. Where's your next trip into the house. Talk to you later my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇❤
have you ever been to the gold mine near you?
Some of that place looks like Fallout New Vegas. lol
Somebody in his area get that wombat and put it on e-bay or something. Restored probably not. But parts and the board is probably still good. Should be saved.
👏🏼👏🏼
Those 2600 atari..are like 150.00 to 1500.00 online..wow.
Sure are! $50 for unknown condition no cables or joysticks
That Commodore screen is very hard to get a hold of I've been trying for a while and can't find one at all
flick him an email mate, he might be able to sort you out. see his about page on here.
@@Fanta.... ok thank you I will do that
@@Fanta.... he doesn't have an email address on there I don't know how ID be able to get hold of him to ask him
What are the real health risks associated with handling and depopulating PCB’s? I’m just getting started in ewaste and hearing conflicting stories
Ben PC motherboards are they classed as mid grade at your yard?
No, PC motherboards are their own grade
@@ihearDeadpeople where that at? I haven’t found anyone who’ll pay in Sydney
Are you fixing your garden yourself? How big is it? Have a great day.
The challenge of a score like this is that it can really choke you. It could take months to work through all this AND keep up with your regular routine.
You might want to save the hard drive platters and do a melt I know bigstackD has done one already
Do you avoid dodgy areas when street scrapping and if not is there anything to worry about. My area has a lot of dodgy suburbs and I would appreciate a professionals opinion on the matter.
Real dodgy areas, people will either go for quick, easy cash or not not bother, your a scrapper so you just go about scrapping, your not a threat as those areas they are into faster money so no worries. just leave scrap piles when there's a person on it already
@@eWasteBen Thanks for the replying I appreciate it.
Those are some awesome vintage keyboards! Do you keep and use any of them?
I keep really good condition one's
Isnt it time for a small warehouse? :P
Nope I believe wombat was an Aussie brand of Apple clone very rare
03:30 Is it me or was that Wombat at least partially a homebrew or shed built or something?
W O M B A T
Wombat would be the name of the machine I'd guess. Looks like an Apple clone of some sort.
It feels strange to watch you walk into your garage.
ROFL
The 1084S easy $200 -$250 - cracking good monitors
Oh wow, didn't think that much, will have to get the last one hidden too
@@eWasteBen nice one.you should get onto the australian vintage computer collectors facebook group - though be prepared for a bit of heat - you're a bit rough with our beloved gear! :)... (btw did you keep that Amiga 1000 you scored a few years back? brilliant find, hope it's getting some love somewhere. if you have it, check the inside of the top cover. Very cool)
I hope to learn half of what you know about computer boards.
15:43 There is an Atari 2600 heavy six
Hey Ben , did u get and Commodore 64 stuff ?
Only commodore monitors I think
I have an atari home a realy old one
Did you leave the ataris???
I took the nice one, left the rest incase someone has claimed them but will go back tomorrow if the guys are on site, then take what's left
have you ever used a metal detector?
Check NCR keyboard prices :) lucky bastard :)
Echooooo
Mate, that's an Atari 2600 VCS. If you haven't got one yet, get it.
all profit now.
Hey Ben how much for you to ship that model airplane engine at 21:53 to the states... I collect small engines 🤣
probably a lot more then it's worth
2:34 that is apple iie
Just don’t convert from a scrapper to a hoarder, Ben!!😁
The Wombat looks like an Apple II or clone of it.
And it is a clone: worddisk.com/wiki/List_of_Apple_II_clones/
Yeah was going to say it was an apple 2e clone
The one labeled Wombat is a clone of an Apple ][ Computer. Most likely they copied the AppleSoft Basic ROMs which would then make it equivalent to an Apple ][ Plus? It has a 6502 processor chip, 3 rows of 16K DRAMs for 48K. The EPROM at the front edge of the board next to the empty socket where the keyboard plugs in, is the character generator chip. The original Apple ][ and ][ Plus displayed and supported upper case letters only, but other companies made and sold character generators that could display both upper and lower as well as hardware and software mods to allow entering upper/lower case from the keyboard. Looks like that’s a better keyboard than the original which had no number pad. Their case looks like a pretty direct copy of Apple’s except where they changed it to fit the number pad. Not sure what the purpose of the card with 2 EPROMs on it is? There are no other bus interface or support chips on the card, so doesn’t seem it would do much at all? Maybe it was just something laying around that someone threw in there.
Who do you paid to hve access to this site?
2 cases of beer and a sushi lunch
@@eWasteBen Hi Ben, I might be interested in buying some things off you like that wombat if you are selling? I'm putting together a museum and it / they would be well admired.
I had to keep the wombat board because of the chips, It was too far gone for any display purpose
@@eWasteBen the chips are much more useful and valuable ON the board.. you got gold fever!
It is i credible i have happy that is happen to you merit it ! Dont forget to keep the old pc and not scrap them you make an ebay and you let it. It will be a pasive income and more and more in the futur you keep them the more it will value. Make some space organize the garage and keep them until there are sold.
I’ve got 4 pc today YES MATE WHOOP WHOOP !!!
Today
I only got about 20 pcs🥱
This hoard has ruined you for street scrapping 😭😭😭
