The President of Finland speaks sensibly. After all, the Finns had the same problems in 1939 as we Ukrainians. However, the words that NATO has become stronger should not give Europeans self-confidence in their own security There are key problems of NATO that need to be solved 1. A complete lack of experience in waging a modern war. Yes, you can look at the war in Ukraine, but this will not help 2. NATO's main military potential is in the United States overseas. The transfer of forces and logistics can be a big challenge 3. There are no domestic long-range missile programs such as Tomahawk or Kalibr, and there are also no ballistic missile programs. And this is very unpleasantly surprising 4. Psychological unpreparedness to wage a long, exhausting war with large losses. Russia is achieving success at the front thanks to large losses of soldiers - is Europe ready for this? 5. Russia has absolutely no need to fight with the whole of NATO - for a start, for example, it will attack Latvia - are the Germans, the French or even the Finns ready to fight next to the Latvians? After all, no one has ever tested how the 5th article works in practice, everyone relied on diplomacy and common sense - but what if the Russians don't care about it?

All sorts of lobbying requires funds, and the deregulatory lobbyists gain money from their policies being implemented, whilst regulative lobbyists lose money from their policies being implemented. The system will eventually selfregulate, once the cost of a polluted environment becomes evident in infant mortality, low education, high healthcare costs etc. Only once the people can't work anymore, will workers gain rights. Unions are very important for this reason. They can stop the people from working. In any sort of negotiation, you need leverage. Otherwise you're not negotiating, you're begging.

You know that Finland only took part in WWII because it was first invaded by Stalin's USSR in 1939, when the USSR was aligned with Hitler's Germany based on the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Finland would have wanted to stay neutral in the war, like Sweden did, but Stalin was committed to make that impossible.
Just shows how shallow of an understanding you have about finnish history. Finland started using the swastika in 1918 way before nazism was devastating europe. It had nothing to do with Hitler.
Like he said, we all want peace. It is difficult to find a Finn who would want peace on Russian terms, though. We know that Putin getting his way would just amount to continued terror and oppression for Ukraine, and an increased likelihood of further war in Europe some years into the future.

That is the Niinistö-Stubb doctrine in its shared value base.
The Presidency in Finland is the only direct election we have as we deemed it necessary for ourselves to be able to directly influence our decision on the leader of our country. Our government is elected out of representatives of the public in an indirect vote, as we are a Republic.
Niinistö-Stubb legacy will be the restoration of our intended government and presidency after over 20 year long period of not having had a single four year government lasting a full term with the same prime minister or cabinet.
And after the next 12 years, there are no more Finnish doctrines regarding foreign policy, because we won't have sovereign foreign policy anymore.

The President of Finland speaks sensibly. After all, the Finns had the same problems in 1939 as we Ukrainians.
However, the words that NATO has become stronger should not give Europeans self-confidence in their own security
There are key problems of NATO that need to be solved
1. A complete lack of experience in waging a modern war. Yes, you can look at the war in Ukraine, but this will not help
2. NATO's main military potential is in the United States overseas. The transfer of forces and logistics can be a big challenge
3. There are no domestic long-range missile programs such as Tomahawk or Kalibr, and there are also no ballistic missile programs. And this is very unpleasantly surprising
I met Stubb a month ago. He was visiting my uni

Free trade needs to be based in environmental and worker protection.
And how do you propose to leverage such regulative environment against the opposing forces lobbying for unregulated free trade? All sorts of lobbying requires funds, and the deregulatory lobbyists gain money from their policies being implemented, whilst regulative lobbyists lose money from their policies being implemented.
To fight the power, you need power. Good will and wishful thinking will not be enough.
@@anderpanders6210 In the EU and north America it could be regulated, and you could probably get some countries to come along. Then you'd close the markets to those who don't follow sufficient regulations. Roughly.

At this rate, Russia will soon become one of the largest economies in the world, standing beside China and India - all this thanks to brilliant leadership of Vladimir Putin.
