only slight way I could think to improve would have been to have just enough mass to put a single steerable landing gear on the duna lander then exploit its hilariously high impact tolerance of 325m/s to bounce off the surface and conserve as much momentum as possible, but asside from that awesome work.
Yes you are right.I also could've used flags because they have an unlimited impact tolerance but I dont think it is more efficient: My Duna landing burn is only about 160-170 m/s and I need to precisely land on a 7km+ peak to avoid drag during the ascent . A landing gear would have probably saved me those 170 m/s but It would've also caused a lot of drag during the ascent + mass to carry during the entire mission so overall I don't think this design is really worth it
There's a better engine plume mod called 'waterfall' (you need stock waterfall effects with waterfall to make this work). It's way better than real plume, and there's an srb mod called avalanche plumes that replace srb flames with better ones, better than real plume
It is a combination of both: I think I did between 30 and 50 landing attempts and after about an hour of landing this craft on duna I was able to steer it precisely to pick the best landing possible. The difficulty was to aim at the top of mountain at the stalling speed. There is no rule of thumb: try after try, you can perfect the landing approach with this given craft at this giiven altitude. I have a pilot license too, maybe this helps me visualizing :)
he did not need to flex that hard towards the end
bro In the end I said do not try it if you don't have a quicksave... this implies that it took a couple of tries to get it!
He didn't need, but he definitely earned the right to with such a landing!
The parking is diabolical. Awesome mission.
Bro not only flew under the small bridge, he retro landed in the parking lot like it's just another Thursday.
Man that parking in the end🤣🤣
so polite to park your craft in the parking lot when finished
That sub-5k periapsis on that last gravity assist was WAY too impressive
🤓👆 actually if you look closely the very last was an assist from the mun to help slow down into an elliptic kerbin orbit
It was already crazy and then you hit us with that landing wtf... leave some for the rest of us
Flying like that with both no control surfaces, very little velocity and no vertical stablizer is insane. Nice job man
This is absolutely ludicrous. Congratulations.
Yo thanks for dropping the music man, I’ve been looking for “we’re finally landing” for ages
No way, i thought he was "just" gonna land on a heliport, really impressive!
Parking in a parking spot after all of that was crazy impressive.
This guy is so underrated
Absolute Cinema
You perfected this Kerbin landing so much.. Good job!
Congrats, now waiting for the laythe mission with one twitch engine ;)
this mission and music are amazing !
home bgm is fire
The soundtrack, it’s perfectly timed, oh my god, it’s even got a watermark.
Oh, un français qui fait des speedruns KSP !
Continue comme ça !
I cant even get to duna half of the time. Very impressive
impressive!
that end... impressive!
goated soundtrack
Good song choice keep it up
Moho and back with only level 3 tech tree parts
I am waiting for someone to do a single Twitch to Eve’s surface and back.
dude thats crazy what an insane craft

@laszlosauve1877 fair enough, honestly brilliantly planned mission for your margins to be that tight
this is pretty sick
Brooooo. Perfect! 👏👏👏👏
someone has to try to do a jool 5 next time
"so i saw this video and i thought i could do better"
I would love to see that, it's so funny when things go recursive
very cool!
Wen Stratzenblitz collab?
Damn that's impressive!
Well done!
Отлично!
Просто превосходно!
So cool!!!
Very Awesome.
hell yeah!
what's the furthest you can get with just one twitch? can you make it to Bop or Pol?
actually with gravity assist chains this is way easier in terms of delta v
impressive
W video

I am impressed by how you manage to recognize the plume based on the footage of only one engine ! thanks, I'll try it!
commenting for the algorithm
this
i don't even know what to say
nice
How can you aim your aero breaking and landing ao precisely? is there like a rule of thumb or just experience or a lot of quick saves?

@laszlosauve1877 alright, thank you very much!
ITS NOT THAT DEEP!
KSP players: *I know it isnt but I can do better*
And he ends the video by parking it in a fucking parking spot
bro needs way more views lol
