Thank you for this. As always you serve up a concise, practical, and useful feature demonstration. Great work and appreciated. I'm looking forward to working with LP11.
From what I can see they have out done themselves with this major update to Logic Pro. They have finally added what I've been wanting since I first got started with Logic Pro 9.
Sadly though my update hasn't shown up yet and been watching for it since 6am and is now basically 6PM CDT. I meet all the requirements for the update but is delayed for some reason. [Note: I started with the version of "Logic Pro 9", 1 update before Logic Pro X dropped]
I'm surprised you were actually like this new update because it does not do anything to help us come up with more creative sounds it's simply polishes the workflow for studio style industry standards
They are ignoring all the creative movements happening for AI driven speeding up making the music and you're actually celebrating it and that bums me out
@@13thJ thats a point bro and we're so much welcoming every up grade they bring forgetting that even creativity is being taken from us..... thanks bro
To be honest the most important update I would look for is if apple finally optimized core performance to use all the cores from our processors instead of overloading just one core
Very possible, that would happen with new macOS version. We will know in June, I guess.
This is by far the biggest problem with music production / mixing. Both windows and mac suffer from this. Horrible optimization
amen!
u can hack it
@@wooliegeekJust curious how do you get to that conclusion? I find Apple Silicon is about a million times better! Maybe you have some 3rd party plugins that are not optimized for Apple Silicon, so obviously they work better on an Intel machine. So your problem is a plugin optimization for Apple Silicon problem instead of the other way around.
Bought logic 8 in 2007 and still got a free upgrade 🔥🔥🔥
How is this guy so much better than everyone else at talking about Logic?
This is a real talent/skill - I mean communication skills like this don't come easy to most people
AGREED!!!!!
he reads the manual
His speaking voice is very clear and he describes everything at a good pace!
He's one of their educators, and he takes the time to get it right and he uses a script based on the manual.
Josh, as a retired professor I can say with authority that you are one of the most gifted TEACHERS I have ever encountered on RUclips. You are incredibly organized, articulate, engaging, and you have mastered the ed tech field as you have the music production field. Thank you SO much for being here!!
I am so agree👌🏻
Just a few things LP11 should’ve been…
- drag tracks in mix view
- plug-in search
- drum detector (phase/time align)
- ARA support
don't forget MACROS !!!! I cant live without this very fast macro shortcut workflow... Cubase, S1 etc. does this since decades!! L11 = lame update. Only for beatz kids who cant play an instrument again.
At least they can change some buttons for a fresh feeling. This is just NOTHING ! You give a new name after 11 years, from X to 11 but it includes almost nothing new.
It really baffles me that there is no plugin search yet.
@@Byron101_ Plugsearch 4 with keyboard maestrogets you that. But yes, Logic should have this
@@substance90 yep, they shpi;d jusy buy plugsearch by speakerfood
I'm in my seventies - I've been recording for over twenty years. Jay Carney is the BEST teacher/explainer/coach/mentor I've ever come across. His tutorials are INCREDIBLY valuable. Long may he wave!
I’m going to have to try stem splitter on …and justice for all and finally hear it with bass!
"No bass guitar detected"
There's a Justice for Jason mix out here on YT that's really good.
Totally! It’s so rad but I still wanted to make this comment ;)
Genuinely cheered out loud when you mentioned real time bounce in place!
Thanks Josh. Great overview. I’ve learned so much from your videos. Great pace, perfect level of detail, superb production quality. Keep ‘em coming!
I can't begin to thank you for all of the wonderful video's you've produced on Logic Pro X and now 11. You are a major component in how the band I've been a member of since 1970, was able to produce an album after a 45 year gab between the band's last album release. We continue producing and releasing new songs. Our next release is scheduled for May 17th.
Really good overview. Thank you.
Such a great overview. Thanks for all of the work you put in to learn this upgrade!
Love your attention to detail, starting with the intro showing exactly what the music is playing.
..i'v been following you for 10 years, everything i learned about logic is from your channel...thank you so much!..regards
Nicely done and produced.... clear, concise, and to the point. Thanks MusicTech HepGuy.
Another great vid - thanks so much for your wonderful content! I’m excited to dive into the new keyboard and bass players.
Very helpful overview, thanks. Can't wait to get stuck into this version!
Great Job on this! Super excited about all of this!!
What an Update!!! Thank U for your video!
great overview here. thanks
I LOVE these new changes!!! You are so good at explaining this!!!!! Thank you so much for making this easy to comprehend and apply
Exciting stuff! Thank you for the information - really good as always. I have a couple of projects to finish then I'll be checking out this upgrade. In my experience it does take a couple of release to ease out any snags, so it may be about right by the time I get to upgrade.
This is dope! Great overview. Thanks! :)
Brilliant overview - I’m super excited by this release - and have been really impressed by the iPad experience. We’re trying it out to track rehearsals now.
As always awesome content. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Josh, that was a really good explanation of the new features.
Amazing update and very well explained. Loved the video, thanks so much!
This new version gives me goose bumps... thanks for this introduction, and looking forward to studying it with your (great) help!
Thanks for a great summary!
Thanx, man! As always very informative and compact!
Thanks for this video! Very well explained!
You're the best fella, great overview - thank you!
Awesome as always. Thanks for all the tips, it’s a great update for Logic.
Great video as always and excited about the update!
Another great, informative video. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
WOW! You got this tutorial quick! Great Job!
Guessing that MTHG has had a late Beta of this for a little while. Happens a lot on YT, that a few select people will get close to production versions early, so that they can prepare videos like this to publish on day-one of a major release.
Thanks for your great content, Josh, and the care you put in the outline and production. (Welcome back, Chord Track, nice to see you again.)
Fun fact for all: if each of us send Josh just $2 (Thanks button above, the lowest increment) as a thumbs up + thanks for the great content + all the research + top-notch musical examples, it will put a smile on his face and keep him going for a long time! (I went for the second tick, $5).
Hey Man!! I have been learning from you for years!!! You are just so good at communicating , teaching and making things clear!! Thank you!!!
Josh, congrats on so many subscribers. You are great teacher. You were great teaching in college and in this video. My favorite feature that no one talks the delay function for rushing or dragging tracks. It makes the tracks feel real. I do wish Logic had a way to get rid of reverb and compression on tracks and a plugin search.
Great video. Thanks as always
Boy, just wait for Logic 12! It’ll do the vocals, EQ, master it and send it right to Spotify! You just sit back and watch the dough roll in.
No more messy learning. Heck, that’s for those artists who want to spend time making something of their own.
Don’t delay! Get it now. 😉😂
Gianni❤
Why wait. There are already a few VSTs out now that will sing the vocals for you.
😂😂
@@hughkremer4026 OK boomer.
"Can you believe these kids just buying instruments right off the shelf? Doesn't anyone hollow out sticks to make a flute anymore?" Like, shutup dude. If you think you can just hit generate song and make money, then do it. The art changes as it always has
@@burnznugz Exactly right. And that's coming from someone who literally has hollowed out a stick and made a flute once!
Excellent video! Well done, Jay. Thank you!
Really helpful... thanks
Thanks again for another awesome tutorial.. You have such a great way of explaining things... thank you:))
So very helpful and expertly presented! Thanks for your effort and leadership.
Excellent video, thank you.
Thanks! Lots of great new stuff! Great tutorial!
REALTIME BOUNCE IN PLACE IVE WANTED THAT FOR SO LONGGGGG
Superb Video Bro. Thanks
I am sitting here going "wow". "Wowww". "WOW?" This Logic update is going to be SO helpful for me! Thanks for this fantastic video!
Wow, wow, wow! Josh, you rocked out on this video; thanks so much!
Great tutorial! Thanks!🫵⭐️
Thank you sir, amazing tutorials as always !
Great overview of new Logic Pro 11. As always, top notch Josh. Looking forward to more LP11 videos from you, particularly deep-dive into AI Session Players. Bravura!
as ever, thanks for the great content! one small thing: if you were using Producer Kits for drummer with old Logic, then you could swap out any kit pieces, as well
Best LP 11 reviews, thanks for the work.
This is a great intraduction to this amazing upgrade for Logic. Thanks for are your work in this. I will be up all night
This is truly amazing that it's free. Awesome tutorial, Thank you.
You're awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic overview as always!
Hey Josh, Have you tried RipX splitting. Is Logic11 as good? Michael Fredrickson
Fine & fancy features! Thanks for the overview, detailed as usual. Logic didn't tell me this was available, but you did. I'll upgrade on my mac studio! You are very helpful, M.T.H.G!
that stem splitter is absolutely INSANE
very clear and well presented ...top notch ❣
Thanks a lot for the help. Great video 👍
Usted es el mejor que explica, por eso sigo su serie desde hace varios años.
Fantastic run through of the new version. Thanks
Best Logic Pro tutorials. Thank you so much.
Excellent video. In the release notes it mentions the ability to route MIDI from one track to another. I’m hoping you’ll cover that in a future video. What I really want is the ability to use MIDI FX on a Track Stack but it’s not there in 11. Hopefully this will be a usable workaround.
I love the intro music. Gets me pumped up!
Great work man! :-) Liked and subscribed.
As always, great video!! Thank you!
But one thing is missing: The new midi routing opportunities.
Thanks so much for this professional review👏👏👏🎸🎻🎹
I just love this guy. I trust him always. Thanks for the excellent videos! Cheers from NYC!
the way i was refreshing my page waiting for your video!
I've just barely made the cut with OSX 13.6 on a 2018 I7 Mac mini :) Whew! I hope it will play nice with all my UA,Superior Drummer 3 and Solid State Logic stuff. Awesome video, thank you much!
Excellent demo as usual. The Stem Splitter tool will be very useful for my reference tracks. I'm wondering if iZotope RX might be able to get rid of the noise in the stems...
Logic Pro 11 sounding awesome so far!!
As always thanks again my friend... legend
Josh, I'll be brief: You are SO GOOD at this! Bravo, man.
Very informative dude!
Great stuff. Thanks.
Thank you, very grateful :)
You absolutely rock man! Kudos for getting such a great video up about all the new features so fast. One question, stem splitter doesnt work for me here. After I click on stem splitter on the region of the stereo mix I get a pop up saying vocals.aif etc etc does not exist. Its a very good recording so that cant be the reason. Is there something Im missing here?
Woah I didn't know logic 11 was out this is some great news I'm getting from the greatest logic teacher! Thank you!
Super! Thanks. Is there any new effects for vocals or anything to enhance vocal recording?
Great, thank you!
Thanks for sharing
Josh! When you figure it out, can you post a Logic Pro 11 tutorial on using the new "internal MIDI in" feature that lets you control multiple tracks/instruments using a single instance of MIDI FX plugins, like sequencers and pattern generators?
What the what!!! That saturation plugin is insane! 😮
Yay!, love your stuff
KILLER share!
This isn’t the update I’d hoped for. I’m not really interested in AI or stem splitting. I did think I’d give it a fair go though and unless I’m missing something the chord track can’t analyse the chords I’ve played in, and I have to enter each chord manually?! So much for AI!! It all sounds like bland lift music anyway so I guess it doesn’t matter in the end. I had a sub to the iPad version but I’ve cancelled it after this update. There’s a lot of great features in the iPad version but they should have been working on better UI for Sculpture and other instruments, full versions of sampler and alchemy and ghost midi. Instead we get this rubbish. Anyway, great video as always, you’re very good at explaining things, I just wish there were some decent features to explain.
I’m fairly new to Logic Pro and still have over 50 days on the free trial of version 10.8. My hardware is MacBook Pro with I7 and 9th generation iPad. There was something you mentioned that wouldn’t work unless you had M1 and above but I didn’t catch what it was. Would that be a deal breaker for me?
Your videos are great and I’m learning a ton of stuff. Keep it up dude!
This is an awesome update!! Curious, do you know if there are smart metronome capabilities, similar to Moises? To possibly tighten up some live recordings or something? Thank you!!!
Awesome!🙌🏾🎉 Many thanks for this update news MTHG!
Love and looking forward to using the chord track, and bass/keys session!
If only Apple updates and fixes minor kinks on Mainstage simultaneously, that will be great, because at the moment Steinberg Vst live has taken over in the live session realm, and Apple has taken a backseat on Mainstage.
Killer Content. Thanks.
You're awesome! Thanks so much from Alessi Brothers!
Hey Bobby! Huge fan here! If you ever need any production/mixing work done, please let me know!
I’m super excited.
Really cool !
