I went through a period longer than I care to admit where depression greatly impacted my hygiene routine. I developed bad acne under my armpits, and down my sides where the bra goes. And even had inflammatory acne on my breast. I created a rule to shower at least every other day, and I began using this PanOxyl. I used it for two months with this showering regiment, but didn’t see the results I was hoping for. I switched to a body wash by Naturium, and after shower, I use Naturium’s Salicylic Acid spray, and I’m seeing HUGE improvements! Scarring from acne is even going away. I cry now when I look in the mirror and see the huge improvement, and beginning to remember I am deserving and worthy.
You have helped me greatly in the last few weeks. Thank you. Seriously. Some of these things are embarrassing and I have no access to insurance or doctors rn. Be well.
Yes to the benzoyl peroxide! We’ve been using salicylic acid wash from the collarbone down for years, and it was good..But when I ran out of body wash a few weeks ago, I decided to just use my generic 10% benzoyl peroxide face wash as body wash until I was making a trip to the store in a week or two. Unexpectedly, it made a dramatic reduction in the intense itchiness my husband had on his midsection and back on these small clusters of bumps he had for quite some time. I had him continue using the generic BP wash, and now at a month of daily use, the bumps & redness are pretty much gone. He no longer needs to use steroid creams or analgesics topicals. I love finding solutions to our problems by accident. 😄
i been using panoxyl everyday for a couple months under my armpits bc i’ve always had issues with pit stains in my shirts and bad odor, like i’m talking ab the biggest, most embarrassing thing ever, i’ve struggled with this since i was in middle school and let me tell y’all…run to the store bc it changed my life fr 😭 BUT i would like to mention that i really only started seeing results quite recently since i switched deodorants. i was using a gillette mens one it was a gel and it worked but the smell still lingered a bit, so i started using dove the original scent and it’s been working great so far!!
I never realized how good itd feel to finally already do all these tips. I really got into skin care lately, and i really have seen such a huge difference. I still get acne cause im predisposed to it, but its a normal amount of acne now and for the first time in my life i actually get clear skin days!
I'm 73 and still use a salicylic acid wash once each day ,not for acne but because it gets into the pores and helps keep them from getting gunked up...true..I swear 🤟😁
I have chicken skin on my arms but mostly on my right side. I also have strawberry skin on my legs, I used to exfoliate for like 2-3 days before waxing/shaving my legs. One thing I have done differently quite recently and has improved a lot my skin appearance is dry exfoliating. I do it 15 min before my bath and I use the dry brush on my whole body and it has reduced quite significantly my chicken skin.
@@iknowtoomuchuse them all, I use dr Teals body scrub… it makes your skin so soft and smooth. I have another scrub which I use. The game changer for me was Amlactin lactic acid lotion. Chef’s kiss. It cleans those bumps. Then the key is moisturizing because dryness is what aggravates kp. That means that if you over exfoliate or if you don’t moisturize, it will get worse. So you should Over-moisturize. So what I have started doing is layering my Amlactin with Cerave moisturizing lotion for dry skin and then with coconut oil before I sleep. Now I’m thinking of adding hyalironic Acid before Amlactin and then locking in all that moisture with Vaseline. Because I noticed that slugging worked so well on my face so I gotta try it on my body. Yes my sheets will suffer but it’s worth it.
I used PanOxyl a couple of times because I had some sort of inflamation, so I thought it might help calm it down. And it did. But that's how I found out it also removed body odor completely. Didn't even need to use deodorant! Didn't know it was actually recommended for this, found out by accident. Just be careful and wash it out thoroughly. It can remove colour from your towels.
Oooh I was using half of these already but I'm adding the rest into my shower routine! Specifically the lactic acid one. The Panoxyl has been a god send for my BO after my PCP recommended it for an outbreak of Folliculitis. THanks for sharing!!

Celebrity interviews taught me that hair conditioner causes body acne in the spots where the conditioner touched your skin. So yeah, first condition your hair and only after it's washed out wash your skin.
I usually angle myself away from the water or flip my head upside down so the conditioner just washes onto the floor rather than down my body. I like to leave my conditioner as long as possible so it's always my last step.
Flip your hair over and only condition the mid to ends! And wash the conditioner out the same way. I used to have terrible bacne and this reduced it significantly.
For the first tip: if u have more of a dry skin type. don't use Benzoyl Peroxide it's extremely drying and the skin on our underarms is very thin and sensitive so consider doing a patch test first. what u can use instead is glycolic acid and for more sensitive skin any sort of gentle cleanser (I use Cetaphil) It may not keep u completly sweat and oudor free ALL DAY but it will do the necessary and not damage your underarms!
@@21972012145525 actually I said to use glycolic acid for dry and NOT sensitive skin. it can actually be irritating so i advice u to read the comment carefully
Dove Body Acne Clear with Salicylic Acid is so nice. Try it everyone. It even lightened a cooking burn I had for a month, within a week of using the soap.
as someone who breaks out everywhere and and had bad body odor due to imbalanced hormones, i learned some of these tricks through trial and error. They work!
May I suggest trying to take the herbal supplement chlorophyll. I take the gel capsules (1 to 2) daily. Within a few weeks I had no odor to my body, whether I was sweat, morning breath, gas, whatever, it internally refreshes the body
The PanOxyo tip has helped so much!! I’m not particularly smelly but I definitely can get a little stinky if it’s hot or I’m stressed and it has made a huge difference.
The benzoyl peroxide for underarms does work but ALWAYS leave it on for at least 3 minutes. And do it daily for a while until you notice a difference. I wash my feet with. BP acne wash as well. Prevents athletes foot, kills any germs/fungal issues, reduces odors, etc. So I think BP washes are a good multi purpose product to have. Hi Doctor, Is it true that the bacteria under the arms can develop resistance to Panoxyl over time, rendering it ineffective ? Do you have any specific recommendations for its use, such as starting with the 4% formula before moving to the 10%, and whether it should be applied daily in the shower or just a few times a week?
I believe she has debunked antibiotic and bacteria resistance in many products. For example, Adapalene, acne treatment, must be used topically nightly even after your skin has improved to your liking. If you stop treatment, it is likely that your skin issues will return. I’m assuming the same can be said for Panoxyl, but I’m just sharing from what I already know
To avoid your skin getting too used to products, try ans alternate between 2 or more that work. I alternate between a BP and salicylic acid face wash, and I also alternate between acne toner and acne serum. It helps keep my face from getting too used to the same products (I've had it happen before).
She addresses these types of questions in her past videos on BPO, but while having antibacterial properties, Benzoyl peroxide uses different mechanisms (one of them being oxidation) that help to target acne-causing bacteria on the skin, so the bacteria do not become resistant to it. It’s actually advised for patients on antibiotics used to treat acne to incorporate a benzoyl peroxide wash in their routine to reduce the likelihood of developing resistance. As for increasing the strength of BPO, studies have shown that the lower strength (2.5%) can be as effective as higher concentrations but with decreased irritation (for the treatment of acne). Personally, it really just comes down to formulation, some products and brands are more/less harsh than others… so it’s about finding what doesn’t irritate your skin and can be tolerated daily or weekly depending on your routine

Love cetaphil! Would love an updated top 10 from them!!
Cetaphil products contain parabens, which are carcinogenic. Skincare and hygiene products containing parabens are not allowed to be sold in the EU; the US FDA sadly does not have as stringent standards.

Does the acne body wash actually work? It looks like it’s too harsh.
Do a video on which soaps are best to use underarms. Lots of people say fragrances and dyes are bad for breast cancers.
The panoxyl was a little to strong so I changed to an acne wash With salicylic acid.
It is great after your workouts and really helps with acne ingrown hairs and cysts. It seems to be gentle and not burning my skin.
Did you happen to use the 10% panoxyl? If so you could try lowering to the 4% it’s less irritating
