I know your channel is dedicated mostly to educating the public... Is there any chance you would do a video on learning tips for dermatological conditions for medical students? I've watched your videos on skin signs for liver issues and it helped me so much correlate clinical signs and not just rattle off tally o Connor exam findings during my physical exams. I felt like I was actually looking for signs instead of a memorised list. We don't get very much derm teaching in med school here and I was wondering if you could speak to how you learned best!

We LOVE so many Cetaphil and Aveeno products. It’s basically all I use on myself and my kids. My older two, like myself, have eczema, and reactions to lanolin, so Cetaphil ointment has been a game changer 🙌🏻 you are also very adored by our dermatologist!

What are your favorites? I'm currently liking the maroon label by lubriderm (regular use) and also came back to cvs dupe for eucerin eczema healing. It's quite soothing and feels good on flares

My eczema is trying to come back, but prequel urea lotion is fighting it. But I wonder if I should skip the lanolin based products & my emu lotions while my skin is extra sensitive…I know lanolin has never given me problems but I hear it can start up out of nowhere…

I always appreciate and look forward to your empties videos. Last Winter, I bought several of those double packs if the large containers of Vaseline and I went through them all pretty quickly. I was putting on a thick layer after showering and then my pj's like you had suggested. Made a huge difference as my skin gets super dry in the Winter. I would usually alternate doing that and using the Gold Bond retinol cream. I recently bought the Gold Bond crepe erase formula. I've noticed a bit of crepiness on my legs so I thought I'd give it a try. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a lovely evening. 💚

I love gold bond crepe erase too! Nothing can erase crepey-ness ofc, but it is plumping and I noticed it contains petrolatum in addition to urea etc. I love it for anytime that Vaseline is too heavy/sticky but I need a truly protective lotion. This winter I will def be using the petroleum jelly a lot more frequently, post menopause, my skin retains no moisture on its own lol

I used to not be able to find any lotion that would work for me even after spending tons of money. ♥️♥️♥️prequel!!! Once my boxycharm goodies are used up, I think I’m creating a routine from only gold bond & prequel. But I did discover that a drop of glycerin added to ANY gentle cleanser is incredible feeling & so gently hydrating. Gleanser isn’t wildly expensive & is great, but I make little blends of cleansers to extend the best smelling ones & I’ve been loving every cleanser so much with just an extra bit of vegetable glycerin, which is easily available online.

I have bouts with dermatitis and also have rosacea. I love Aveeno products and Dove unscented bar and body wash. I hate pump bottles now, end up cutting off the top to get what’s at the bottom. I like tubes or tubs better. I use lanolin in a tube( nursing mothers use it for nipple care ) for my lips or CeraVe ointment.

    • @standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory
      @standdownrobots_ihaveoldglory 2 месяца назад

I like lanolin tubes but also you gotta try liquid lanolin that you can use as an oil (a very heavy one). I love adding a few drops to face/body mist in the winter, and to all kinds of other moisturizers. Have you tried lanolips products? Spendy for the size (to me), great flavors & tints, you can get shimmery rose gold lanolin ointment (& other shades) or tinted lanolin-heavy balms. When it’s below -10F, I like to use protective makeup! I have 2 tubes of rose gold and one nude balm and they really save my face!

I just ordered the Hydra Boost Water Cream, Dr. Shereen Idress had warned that it can dry the skin if in dry climate or not moisture over it, so I assume since it's in a cream base I'm covered, even though I live in CA. Some of these body creams are so thick you can't even get them out of the bottle unless you get a pump. Hate that. I always add a bit of glycerin and lactic acid to any basic body lotion I have.

Dr Dray you should try out the J Beauty product called Ceramiaid. It's a fantastic cross between ointment/cream which contains ceramides, peptides, and petrolatum. It also has a fatty acid derivative of licorice root called Stearyl glycyrrhetinate that makes this product feel incredibly soothing when you put it on. I use it to slug with as well as on my lips, cuticles, and under my nose when the skin gets dry and scaly from blowing my nose. It's also fragrance free! I HIGHLY recommend you try it as there are no comparable products IMO. Added bonus is the price which is very reasonable.

So, I’m not Dr dray obviously but I have experimented with oils lol! I make my own cleansing oil & I used to use oil only, and I did shave with it! And tore up my legs a few times. I think it might be too slick, and it destroys razors. Using pure oil blends was expensive because it would damage the razor in a way that shave products do not. But, packaged cleansing oil is a blend usually watered down, and def might work. But the cost would be much, much, much higher. I love the feeling of a product with a bit of oil paired with something foamy, but I have to get the texture just right or I cut myself up.

Dr. Dray, have you seen L’Oréal’s new chemical peel? I was excited until in saw the horrible ingredients of coloring with the wonderful acid ingredients. Why do they add dyes and coloring to skincare? 😩

I saw Doctorly review that and gave it a side-eye, lol.

Hi Dr. Dray, my son shaves his head, and gets ingrown hairs on the back of his neck. Any suggestions I can give him?

TendSkin. It’s great for ingrown hairs.

There are products in the baby aisle for cradle cap, that works excellent and it’s gentle! I even use it on my face as an exfoliated, lol

My favorite is the Eucerin hydrating cleansing gel. You get so much product for a good price! It's cheaper than cerave.

On my second bottle of Vanicream Cleanser, third jar of BoJ Radiance Cleansing balm, and for the first time I’ve actually finished a jar of Vaseline.

Why is vit c serum overhyped..I used Ascorbic acid and became sensitive...does any form help in collagen synthesis of vit c serum...And one more thing which is more beneficial and faster result and sustainable tropical vit c serum or oral vit c serum which is effective and is 3 o ethylated Ascorbic acid effective

Do you think the BoJ radiance cleansing balm would help with sebaceous filaments?

I saw good results with benzoyl peroxide cleanser. Acnefree has a 2.5% one that's good

The iUnik Calendula cleansing oil is great for removing sebaceous filaments. I don't find cleansing balms work as well for that purpose.
