Hello James, agree what you said about this guitar, i have the blue one it plays wonderful, by the way your playing is outstanding ! Greetings from the netherlands
Note: 1500 or 1800 grit sandpaper removes the gloss from a shiny guitar neck. I learned it years ago from the guy running Rickenbacker. It was his suggestion, and I've done it on every lacquer guitar that I've purchased. Use painter's tape to tape off the two ends of the neck, and make even swipes the length of the neck until you achieve the satin level you desire. edit: you can buff it back out fairly easily if you decided to sell it. That said, I've never had any problem selling one I'd already made satin.
She's gorgeous ! I had an Epiphone Les Paul Standard a fiew years ago but i didn't like the neck because it was too big and I didn't feel confortable with it. So I will try this one. Thank you 😉
If you have the opportunity, try the Sire L7V "Goldtop" with P90s! I have one and am very happy with it, especially around the neck, which fits my small hands. And of course the matching sound.
I think that if you were to blindfold people and have them judge what guitar they prefer based upon the playing experience instead of which name they want to see on the headstock that 8 out of 10 would choose the Sire for comfort and ease of playability on the neck; and for tone it would be a toss providing that the Gibson pickups were stock and and not performance upgrades. Throw a set of Iron Gear Dirty Torque in the bridge and a Blues Engine in the neck of that Sire and look out Gibson you just got knocked out of the running. I think that we live in a time where it boils down to how much of a premium are you willing to pay for a name on the headstock. There are so many companies from various manufacturers in Asia that are producing quality instruments at prices that almost anybody can afford. Sure there are some components that may not stack up to higher priced big name-branded offerings, but these are things that can be upgraded rather affordably and still leave the overall cost of ownership significantly cheaper than a stock unit from a big name company. I view them as an open canvas upon which one can build a custom shop guitar without breaking the bank. I have played a 20k Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab LP and I can tell you this it didn’t sound or play any better or worse than a 2k LP. I have played a 1100 dollar Epiphone that sounded better and played amazingly thanks to modernization of the neck heel and body contours and would have chosen it over both Gibson models. Spend the money to put a set of Fishman Fluence pickups in the Sire LP and you would have 3x the LP that you get for 2.5k from Gibson and you would still be cheaper than an equally equipped Epi or LTD model LP by close to 400 bucks. Just saying.
There is NOT a Guitar Made in Sire Larry Carlton's Price range or even at $2,000 -$3,000 that can Compare as far as i'm concerned !! Look what you get for $641.00 for the L7V , LP Seriously.... Outstanding fret work , beautifully rolled edges SLAB Ebony Fret Board ,*Not a Venier * REAL Bone Nut ,* Locking Tuners , Satin neck , Gorgeous finish on the Tobacco Sunburst> Pearloid Trapezoids , Not plastic , Oh Forgot to mention the Light weight aluminum Stopbar tailpiece !!! ⚡⚡ NOW Lets Take a look and see what you get for a $3,000 Gibson Les Paul Standard '50s NEARLY 5 Times !!! the cost .. SO??? you Get NOTHING !!!!! you get a usa made les paul and your paying the high cost for it.. !!
Have to agree.. other smaller cheaper companies seem just as, if not better atm. (The brands you listed) all the sire stuff I’ve played has been a real high level!
Nice tones and playing! Subbed.
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated 🙏

I just ordered the Black Beauty L7 today 😊
Awesome! Has it arrived? If so, are you enjoying it?
That fusiony style sounds nice on that guitar maybe better than the tele or Suhr. Powerful not thin or lacking in anyway but not muddy.
Yeah, it definitely has power behind it! And for cheap.. it’s great!
@@jamesdaviesguitar sustain is great. Looks like you don't work as hard playing it either.
Yeah, it’s a really nice one to play! Thanks! 😊
Need to get one😎🎸👍
Worth the money!
Compare wtih modern Ephiphone, with this Sire, what is your feedabck? Thanks
I’ll give that a go!

Compared to Gibson, Sire L7 is 1/5 of the price and 4/5 of the value. Hence, if you're smart, buy Sire!
💯 agreed!

Gibson are not worth the money, ridiculous prices, glad other companies like sire and harley benton are making great guitars, for a good price.
