Not gonna lie, when I saw this come up the first time, I just scrolled through the video without audio until I saw a picture. It took me until I actually sat down and opened my DAW to start working on this to realize we weren't scoring to a Dr Seuss cartoon.

I am a Sci- Fi fan since childhood, so I think I will start preparing a piece for this stunning image. One question: In what quality format bitrate etc.. better to send you the Mp3. I understand you accept only MP3, correct? Thanks - Brian
Would love to enter one of your competitions one day. Very new to composing and I have one question (could be a really stupid one so please forgive me). Would a mp3 file made exported from musescore (found this software thanks to your recommendation) suffice, or do you require DAW production? I have ableton just currently short on any decent strings/WW plug ins. Thanks heaps

That's cool! I'd love to participate (in the "newbies hobbyist" category LOL) and would love even more if you could articulate on what "production value" means, as it is one of the winning criteria and not entirely clear to me.
Hello Riccardo, I think Ryan is talking about the quality of the production, the composition and mixing, the whole track !
Yes production value means how does it sound. Are the instruments realistic sounding or fake? Is it well mixed with good use of EQ, reverb, etc. Some composers submit a low quality notation software playback of their music, but as a listener what we hear is the music, not what the composer imagines it could be!

I very much enjoyed working on a piece for this contest . I referenced the bladerunner soundtrack as well as more recent Cyberpunk soundtracks . I also included two short clips, first interpretations of the artwork image and my entry sample , by kaiberAI .
