Loved the introduction. Unfortunately, my 2023 was similar. I lost my last grandparent as well. I’m probably 10 years older than you and I’m still experiencing similar life challenges. I also scaled my time down at work but I did it by frequent use of paid time off. I definitely believe we need personal outlets to keep us going. As you know, sewing does it for me. I also paint, which is pretty inexpensive because I use acrylic paints. I hope you find a space in 2024. Thanks for shedding light on the free health care system. I didn’t realize there were challenges like that. Waiting can be hard and stressful. Take care of yourself. ❤

2023 was really challenging for us too. I hope the Year of the Dragon will be a year of healing and rejuvenation for you! 🤗

Hi. Watched your channel since 2014 so I feel we are old pals. I too, had health issues in 2023 with silly injuries due to carelessness and lack of self care. Definitely, a wake up call for myself to focus on my body and health. I enjoy my chiropractic visits but please be sure to find someone reputable and that you are comfortable with. I also am spending more resources on massages and exercise related classes to improve upon my posture and muscle tone. A long process ahead! Nothing worthwhile happens overnight, I suppose. I agree with the concern of hobbies that end up accumulating things. I stopped painting because of such concern. I live in a small home and space - the lack thereof, is a big problem. That's why I think travel is a wonderful hobby if time is available. I applaud your camping spirit. Being in nature is so fundamental to us organic beings. Be well in 2024 and wishing you happiness blessed with good health. L

I've been toying with the idea of trying out the tiny-house life in the future but I'm held back by the idea that I would have to give up or scale down on my hobbies. In the past few years, through the minimalism movement I also see people with these "decluttered lives" and "beautiful homes" and I wonder what do they enjoy doing besides keeping their house pristine? Or do they just have minimalist hobbies as well? I guess I still have plenty of years to ponder the answer but it's certainly a reoccurring thought!

There are very high stress jobs with a mandatory retirement age. e.g. Mandatory separation. (a) An air traffic controller shall be separated from the service on the last day of the month in which he becomes 56 years of age. Pilots work until age 65. Just saying stress is really bad for your health if you don't have an outlet. Best analogy I can think of is a radiation worker. How do you protect yourself from exposure to radiation? Limit your TIME of exposure, Have proper SHIELDING from the radiation, always maintain a safe DISTANCE. Hard to do when you care about someone.
