Asahi Pentax SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.4 lens infinity focus calibration.
This video may help you adjust and calibrate the focus ring so that you can focus your lens and camera to infinity. It's not difficult, but requires some tools and some patience. This method also works with many other lenses since the design is very similar across brands.
If this helps you out, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks.

Very good instruction! Just calibrated my S-M-C 50/1.4. A small hack here: in case anyone who doesn't have the rubber opener, just use the lens back cap with a rubber glove ;)

Just got some fungus covered lenses and took one apart before I figured out I had to mark where the helios screwed in. It's a pentacon and I'm in a bad situation where I'm trying to put the lens back so that it's not too far in or out so that I can calibrate it.
At least I know now for the other 5 lenses 😆

Fantastic!! Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed to calibrate one of my Minolta lenses before selling it! A few other tutorials showed how to access the necessary components, but didn't actually show how to adjust them.

Thank you very much for sharing this. Do you have any instruction to do the same for an Olympus Zuiko 135mm f3.5 ?. I have one that will not focus to infinity.

Olympus OM lenses usually have a focus ring adjustment set screw under the rubber grip of the focus ring. The grip will need to be removed and the set screw(s) loosened to fine tune the focus. If the focus is off by a lot, there might be something else wrong with the lens, or it has been improperly assembled.

Hello, I have a problem with haze on the rear elements that are cemented in this lens. Can you record a video teaching how to disassemble it so I can solve it?

Hi, thanks for the video! I own a Pentax-m 135mm that doesn't focus to infinity. I already found out that I have to remove the rubber band on the focus ring to disassemble the built-in lens hood. Then three tiny screws are left. Unfortunately, when loosening them I still can't get any movement in the focus ring. Do you possibly have a solution for this? Or do I have to undertake some other steps as well?

Hi, thanks for the great video. I just payed attention to the canera, I have calibrated it while maunted on my fuji xt20 wwhile mounted on the adaphter, however I have old film camera Praktica and wondered if it would be better to calibrate on that rather then on fuji? Also will incorrect calibration effect anyhow picture quality??
    Thanks in advance.

It is always best to calibrate on a native mount. However, trying to calibrate through a small optical viewfinder is very difficult. Using liveview on a digital camera can be much more precise. Using a reputable adapter which was manufactured to the exact flange distance is recommended, if there are no digital native camera available. Picture quality will not be effected for lenses that move all the lens groups together. Only focus will be effected. Thanks for watching.

Hi, very helpful video! Could I use the same method with a Pentax smc-m 35mm f2.8 lens?

Probably the same method will apply, or at least very similar.
