My Mom passed away in her sleep 5 days ago. In the same situation, I would've wanted my family to do the same. His father was already dead and there was nothing he could do. Now, it would've been a completely different situation if his father was on his deathbed and there was a chance he could get there in time and say his final goodbye.
the same thing happened to my mom to a couple years ago man. if u ever needa talk man i’m here for u ik something like this can be really heart breaking. hope your ok❤️
As a Mets fan it must have been tough to hear that you lost a family member after being on a big stage. Glad to see him win the World Series with his team
My dad passed away 5 years ago why I was 9 during his sleep he had a heart attack, my mom couldn’t recover for over 6 months, she now is married again to my stepdad who has been there for all of us and now means the world. R.I.P Jeremy (my dad who died)
I'm a Royal's fan, I remember wanting to win the World Series SO badly for the first time in my lifetime. We had just been the previous year and came up short. I remember being so sad and upset with them for not telling him and letting him play. When he came back and said he appreciated what they did, I felt stupid.
My uncle passed away at 1 am and I had a football game that day at 9am my dad and mom didn’t tell me cause they knew I wouldn’t have been able to play his 1 year anniversary was also on my game the next year I knew this I almost scored a touchdown but got tackled at the 1 I cried because I miss him and never got to say goodbye and that would have been like a late goodbye
I’m so sorry you your loss I lost my aunt 02/12/22 and I was at church then my dad and uncle(my uncle and aunt aren’t married)dropped me,my mom,and my sisters off at a breakfast place then he texted my mom that she died I did not cry cause we were at a restaurant and when I got home I screamed into a pillow the a few days ago I said this candy she would always give us when we saw her.ALSO I WILL NEVER LOVE FOURTH OF JULY NO MORE(we used to go to her house to watch fireworks cause it was down the street
@@Harrison_SNKRSThis is why religious folk have a bad reputation, because of people like you. You are saying that if he didn’t love god or if he wasn’t religious he shouldn’t rest in peace? That’s just fucked up and uncalled for
You should do a video on Joe Dumars playing for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals. His father died right before the game and his family and teammates decided not to tell him. He played a great game and won the Championship.
Royals fan here, I remember when this happened and I felt sick, I felt so bad for him, he made up for it tho playing a helluva game in game 3, us royals fans went through a lot in our glory days such as Yordano Ventura dying in a car crash and one more player losing his uncle, I can’t remember who but I know one of em did
As a Cowboys fan ...I feel bad but during the end of the Dec 28, 75 infamous "Hail Mary " game ..... Vikings QB Fran Tarkkenton's father died at the end of that game.
This reminds me of the MJ game where he broke down crying after winning the finals on Father's Day cuz I think his dad either passed or wasn't able to attend the game.
MJ cried cause his dad was murdered. He parked in a rest area to catch sleep and 2 guys (liked his car) so they shot em, stole his car, and dumped his body in a carolina swamp.....thats why he cried
Why? His family was the ones who asked the team not to tell him. The only thing telling him before the start would do is screw up his focus and emotions. Also, it was probably his father's dream that one day his son would not only pitch in MLB but would one day pitch in a World Series game.
It might not have hurt his performance, look at Favres performance on the day his dad died. Obviously its football, but it was 1 of the games ever by a QB.
My uncle died when I was chatting with a girl for the first time. I told her I had to go because of that, and she blocked me. Probably didn’t believe me.
If you watch the video, his family told them not to tell him. It was their idea to keep it from him in the first place because they didn't want it to ruin the game for him and his father wouldn't have wanted it to ruin the game either. They carried out the family's wishes.
And no one in the stadium new. The family didn't just announced it for everyone to know besides him. It's not like it was public news. After he was pulled from the game the family told him in person. Then it was announced later on. Can't blame the royals for something the family wanted
This is incorrect, his dad did not pass away while he was pitching, he passed away just before the game started and the team and family decided not to tell him as to not affect his performance in the world series.
What a garbage opinion. He worked his whole life for this moment, to pitch in the World Series. They did it FOR him, so he could enjoy his moment before being told the news that would rob him of his happiness.
It’s his own family. They likely know him better than you do, and know what he would want, as indicated in the interview upon his return. I hope your family isn’t put in that tough position, but if they are and happen to make the wrong choice, I hope you don’t hold that against them.

Sad. Very sad. His father was extremely proud of him I’m sure!
That Royals team was brilliantly crafted. I love small-market World Series teams. People forget just how important Edinson was to that rotation.
And there's a deep drive to left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that will make it a 4-0 ball game.
(sorry, I couldn't resist)
Bro 💀
No I actually missed this story. Thats tough. RIP Mr. Volquez
This is so sad. Keeping there family in my prayers ❤

Btw, the guy who hit the winning run in, is one of my hitting and fielding coaches, his name is Christian Colon.

This is sad. Idc how old this is it still hits us as baseball fans, or players. Or as people watching this just causes it pop on our shorts.
As a Reds fan, I remember very well how both Volquez and Cueto left the Reds for the Royals and won the 2015 World Series.
Sucks. Lost my dad suddenly in October. He laid down to take a nap and never woke up.. we’re still in shock
As a Mets fan who naturally was rooting for the Mets this is heartbreaking I forgive you for beating us Kansas City Royals

WOW. My condolences. 😮
Like having the foundation of your life ripped out from beneath your feet
And then a free fall
My heart goes out to him and family❤
What was bad was then the next year or so they lost Ventura during the off season.
They should have told him. Family trumps your job.
Id pitch harder if I knew b4 game look what Brett Farve did
Not telling him was real fucking soulless
Least he was able to dedicate a championship victory to his father
His title is for his dad
Same with Jack Campbell
This hits different after you lose your dad.

Oh no.

I wonder what he will form into. The death of your father will usually trigger your next form.
Preforming
Maybe should of told the kid..
Happy they won the chip
Losing ur dad sucks bruh 😢
As Mets fan I say that it wasn’t good that he and his team won the World Series that season
what was he preforming?
Is that ned yost talking to him in the dugout?
Probably. He was the Royals manager at the time.
Yes. 👍
Same thing happened to Joe Dumars.
Hard to like or dislike cause he knew what was coming
Like or dislike ?

Yeah at least
Shit if they told him he prolly would have pulled a Bret Farve!! And threw a complete Game or something!!
This is incorrect, his dad did not pass away while he was pitching, he passed away just before the game started and the team and family decided not to tell him as to not affect his performance in the world series.
It’s Edinson Volquez, not Edison.
At least they lost the World Series the previous year.
PERFORM

You don't know. Maybe he formed into something after the game. Like a dinosaur or a transformer (robots in disguise)

Six innings and did not do good? They kept him too long, knowing that his father had passed.
