Nah… WAVE was a 7 and a 7 means he liked it and thinks the project is a great addition to their discography. T&Y was a strong 8 to a light 9. Density doesn’t always equate to better music. T&Y was significantly dense but also appealing. Such a great album.
This is insane, T&Y is one of the best rap albums of all time, no one rapper last decade made a lyrical song like mural and deep/inteligent song like AOTM. Easy a 9 for sure.
He's not denying the highlights of the album, it's just a very big album that he found to have a couple duds in the tracklist. 7 is still a positive score.

Did Lupe change or did Fantano's taste mature? Go back and listen to T&Y and Drogas. They aint 7's chief. And F&L2 should be a 7 because his summary for Drogas works for F&L2 better.
I think lupe changed. Fantano seems to have problems with his early prod and then some duds in the track lists. His newer albums are all hitters no filler

Fantano did not do shit before reviewing that album, because frankly at the time there wasn't much clue out there for him to do so even if he's actually wanted to, and until these days, people still catch new thing after years of listening. I think T&Y score makes sense at the time. I feel like its an album that has aged better and is better now then it was then if that makes sense.
