to replace yinlin in jinhsi team zhezhi needs not only to buff skill dmg but also provide coordinated attacks.

I think Xiangli Yao is gonna be a 5* version of Yuanwu tbh, just straight up Yuanwu's kit (with ATK scaling instead of DEF)
Zhezhi is maybe the first elemental deepen support. Same unconditional buff like Verina, but for a specific element. I have no idea how they are supposed to fill the universal support/buffer role otherwise with Verina firmly on that spot with her unique buff mechanics.
And yea, we can't speak of replacements yet, since ToA teams will still gladly pick up "leftovers" and still feature elemental bonuses, especially because as a universal buffer, we ONLY have verina.
I only care if the powercreep powercreeps limited characters. The standard characters imo are meant to be powercrept. If S0R1 Xiangli Yao does 130% solo damage compared to Jiyan solo damage then it’s a major powercreep which is an issue since it’s only 1.2 update. But if it’s less than 130% then it’s minor powercreep which is fine. Major powercreep only is ok after roughly every 4 DPS characters (Jiyan, Jinhsi, Xiangli Yao, idk who is 4th, and the 5th one can majorly powercreep Jiyan). Team powercreep idc too much, since that’s the organic and non-toxic way to make ur account stronger that the company can do.
i dont think i've ever seen a "painter" or artist type class not be a support and there has been quite alot of complaining that verina is the only support. it could be that she is a general support but maybe outro supports jinhsi better. e.g. a general attack buff with a dot, or resonance damage, or something like yinlin where she'll buff spectro + resonance, but this probably not likely since the element of the elemental specific buff usually matches the caster's ele

Zhezhi could be better than Verina specifically for Jinhsi teams without being better than Verina for all teams . . . I find this upgrade more likely than a Yinlin slot upgrade since Yinlin is a limited banner character.
Yinlin has many other use cases so being replaced for Jinhsi does not devalue her

I’ve been waiting for more male characters but if they give Xiangli for free then I guess I’ll just keep hoarding. (Or If he’s good, maybe go for the weapon. 🤔)
Jiyan banner was a disaster. Lost 50/50 at hard pity and then I crawled back to 78 pity before the banner ended. So I’m getting a guaranteed limited in the first 10 pull. Im not using that on a character I don’t really really really want.
Getting a weapon is easily worth it for characters you love, seeing as there's no 50/50.
Plus, if Xiangli Yao is powercreeping Calcharo, then he will not be powercrept for a good year, maybe even longer. So I say go for it :D
I mean if you really like Yao you will pull for his dupes and if he is truly Free he will be in standard banner.
This leak that Xianglee will be a free unit is not confirmed so at this point it is only a rumor

second of all, zhezhi has coordinated attacks to stack up jinhsi's E
third of all, zhezhi has higher personal damage than Taoqi
fourth of all, zhezhi is way less clunky to use

I don't think that Zhezhi truly powercreeps anything yet because there are 3 teams and only 2 healers. Even if we go with the weakest link (Baizhi), she isn't going anywhere untill there is at least 1 more unit like this. Also, from what I heard, she seems to have the gimmick made with Jinshi mostly in mind over her being something more universal like Verina. So, she seems fine.
