Big Haul 2024 Begins! First Three Stops

- Our Spring Big Haul for 2024 has officially begun! This is an annual RV roadtrip we take each year to visit new states, National Parks, roadside attractions, and visit new areas that we've never been to before. This year we'll be headed back to the Southwest and we have several new places in store for our camping. We start off by heading up to West Memphis for the first night, then up to Independence, Missouri for a couple of days so we can visit with Abby's Grandparents. From there we headed up the road to Iowa so that we could camp there overnight and add the Iowa sticker to our RV travel map. We're excited about this years Big Haul and look forward to sharing all of our adventures with you all! #abomadventures #bighaul #rv #travel

You may not know or realize but that whole town of Hamburg was flooded a few years ago from the Missouri river.
You were talking about, showing, the tug boats on the Mississippi River… there’s a guy who has a channel, he’s a captain of one of those. I can’t remember the name. It’s fun to watch, to get a perspective from where he is and what he is pushing, etc.

For problem looking inside. I got and use Nidage RT-3.5
wireless bore camera. Works on Apple or Android devices. Because it small coiled up but has a long flex camera. I last used it to look down a drain pipe. To find the earing. So happy wife now.

Thanks for the videos. We’re looking into getting our first RV soon and plan on a yearly trip route. I’ve traveled from coast to coast many times but was never able to stop and enjoy our beautiful country. If you get the chance on your way back home. Stop by Lake Guntersville State Park and feed the deer and take in the amazing views . Have fun and safe travels to you both.

What is your route this year? Looking good guys. I've been following you for 4, or 5 years now. You do a pretty nice job explaining yourselves.We are over in Illinois and I'm afraid you missed us. lol. Just kidding. But then we just got back from our first camping trip this year. Illinois state parks are kind of the same as Iowa state parks. That is where we were. Mostly electric only sites but no water or dump sites till the middle of April. Probably no showers either till water is turned on all over the campgrounds. But you can have just about any campsite you want. Just bring exact change as no personel will be on the grounds. If you wait long enough though there will be a ranger come around some time on the weekends and they will help you with the nite deposit box. These rangers are very friendly. Have a safe trip-- Big Haul -- 2024 Abom Adventures. We will be watching.

Please tell me that you kept the old furnace to do a tear down on when you get home. I’ve been a subscriber to Abomb79 for years and recently subscribed to this channel after getting back into a travel trailer. I live in Texas and will probably only travel in Texas until I retire in three months. Maybe I’ll run into y’all sometime.
No I didn’t keep it. It would have taken up too much room. If I was closer to home I would have kept it because I too wanted to tear into it.

I would think a bunch of solar, couple server rack 48v batteries, single 120V inverter and a heat pump would be the ticket vs. propane.
Sounds expensive, I’ve already invested enough into the solar, lithium and generator systems we now have. I feel we have a good rig that will handle most camps we want to tackle.

Starlink Q. After hardware purchase , is it Month to month for the service ? Ex. I have it all set up, I am camping in April, I pay for April but May, June July, Aug I do not camp. Sept comes and I am going camping and pay for the month. Is that how it works ?

Back in the day, Hamburg had had a gas station, restaurant, and strip club in the same building. All the girls from Omaha would make the long drive so they wouldn't get caught.
