14:49 "How about I go 'act' like I'm prepping for the Scare Games?" "How about you *fail* out of school completely? The midterm counts for sixty percent of your grade. Now sit down." I like that teacher.
That deleted opening would've been better because it shows not only how Mike and Sulley knew each other as kids but in the final they hated each other at first then became good friends later as here they hated each other since they were children
They could've even made it so they were friends in elementary school, and then they grow apart and meet back up in college and learn to become friends again throughout the story. I definitely wish they would've kept something similar in fr
It made sense in an earlier draft, but if it was added to the finished movie, then it doesn’t fit. The timeline goes from Mike & Sulley being childhood enemies, then they forgot each other during their preteen and teenage years, but then they reunited with themselves in college where they introduced each other, then they got expelled from college after an incident so they left college to work at a factory as mailman, then after they did a couple other promotions they finally became a scare duo at the factory, then they decided to become the CEO and CTO of the company they worked for after exposing their boss and returned a human child to her homeworld, and now they entertained human children instead of scaring them.
Haven't finished the video yet, but I wanted to comment on the Rivalry clip. I watched the first movie with my little brother today, and I remember going "Wait..." at the "since the fourth grade" line. Glad to know that they did plan to address it, even if it didn't make it in.
As much as I see their reason with the first scene. I disagree with it. If they had just gone with the scene it would've worked better, if they had Mike and Sulley not remember each other in University and slowly as the movie would progress up to the scene where they sneak into Monsters Incorporated, they would've remembered each other, and their hatred for one another. And that hatred would've slowly died at the end of the movie.
They actually should of kept "Rivalry" or found a way to incorporate it and the field trip scene into the film. Heck! I would even be fine if Sully was in Mike's class and was on the field trip with them all.
The movie night scene definitely inspired the final cut when Sully and Mike fueled scare energy to power the door from the human world at the abandoned cabin.
Maybe they'll make a sequel to Monsters Inc. dealing with that. We know the energy source switched to laughter so maybe the animators will consider that as a story line.
Even though it got cut, Recon would have made for a really good short. Honestly it's a shame it got abandoned completely, there was a lot of potential still left in it!
I wish the Rivarly scene was kept because the movie and story would be a little bit more enjoyable. It really would of worked the only changes I would do is that after the first scene it starts at the elementry and Sully would be the new student at that elementry and the rest would be the same and then after that scene later in the movie they met each other at the University they could of like reintroduce each other and they both say they should start over and forget everything in the past and then after that the movie should just be the same with no changes.
I'm glad that they cut all of these scenes out of the movie. They managed to recycle the important bits, and the movie really works better without them.
I have some opinions about some scenes In the scene “rivalry”, I feel bad for Mike. But he did sort of start the fight. In the scene “movie night”, I like the way sully talked instead of yelled. I feel it showed more of emotional give up, and it made the scene more powerful. And the “drama class 1,2,3” just took too much attention away from the scare game
You know.. I whole heartedly agree with how they cut out most refrences to off hand things in the first movie. Ive seen plenty of small fan works and larger productions by inexperienced nerds and can see how having a scene that amounts to nothing but saying "see guys? Remember when they said that thing? Look at our funny reference!" But stops the story in its tracks and hurts the plot / message is actually a bad thing. Its really cringy, ameturish, and unfocused. Its the stories and characters that matter, not just lore and continuity. They did not want to have to write monsters elementary, they wanted monsters university. The refrence to the 4th grade line was in the way of that story. If your story does not have at least one "everytime you notice things like that, a wizard did it" moment, then you need to cut the fat. I wish more people could see the nuance of enjoying a short or a storybord as its own work of art, without endlessly moaning about how it should have been a series or real movie. Feel good that it happened in the form of this fully voice acted story board released to the public despite being cut. Even these sketches require a lot of work . and if you enjoyed the art as presented here right now, then the art has been apprecaited. It is good *now*. And that is enough.

When they met in this film, Mike could’ve said something among the lines of "Do I remember you from 4th grade?". It would’ve been unnecessary, but so was the whole film.
don't need the ratatouille ones but if you/anyone reading this could please upload the toy story of terror deleted scenes it would be really appreciated
I personally wish they kept in the "You're not scary, you're adorable." Line.
The fact that Mike is just a circle and a couple of lines though
14:49 "How about I go 'act' like I'm prepping for the Scare Games?"
"How about you *fail* out of school completely? The midterm counts for sixty percent of your grade. Now sit down."
I like that teacher.

I can't belive they caused an couninty error
Drama class would’ve been cool too; their love for theatre would’ve explained their musical in the end credits of the first movie
Ikr ahh I was just about to make a comment on it!
This makes a lot of sense. They shouldn't have deleted that scene rivalry. It would have made sense.
The drama and movie night eh but the rivalry is true to the story told on both the first trailer and the first movie itself.
I honestly wish they kept the Rivalry scene because in Monster Inc, Mike claim that he met Sulley in the 3rd grade, not university.
(Which make sense)
@@RachelleHeart Me too! It would've made sense to have that scene in the movie instead of the field trip scene. It just seems a little sporadic.
It made sense in an earlier draft, but if it was added to the finished movie, then it doesn’t fit.

They should've had Mike and Sulley as rivals as kids.
Exactly!
16:26
mike: how about im a-am im a dragon, or a giant mollusk, or am- ah-
random dude: a flower
"someone decided he's goth today" that's a-- that's a mood
Tbh I wouldn't mind seeing the drama class scenes
Certainly would explain where the "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From (or So Help Me)" musical came from lol
I wouldn't mind seeing the Movie night clip
Id love it it was a mini short
@@Yumifreak3 True.
Fr!!!!
Ok but Mike managed to hit Sulley and he even left him with a black eye. Respect.
As much as I see their reason with the first scene. I disagree with it.

@@zavierismael2636 wtf
Yeah! Hell just include Sulley in the field trip
Mike "We should ashamed to show our ugly faces again" throws a can of cyan paint on a guy's head HA priceless
in the first movie mike said that sully is jealous of he's good looks since 4th grade so it would make sense to keep that scene.
They actually should of kept "Rivalry" or found a way to incorporate it and the field trip scene into the film. Heck! I would even be fine if Sully was in Mike's class and was on the field trip with them all.
Yes I agree!
The movie night scene definitely inspired the final cut when Sully and Mike fueled scare energy to power the door from the human world at the abandoned cabin.
I love seeing deleted scenes in movies like this. So much creativity
You have to admit... They are adorable as kids. And sulley is so.. Fluffy.. 😍
These aren't just deleted it's more like deleted stories that were scrapped, I really liked the drama class one
i would have loooovved the drama scene.
The shots and dialogue during the flower/bunny scene was really good
Headcannon: I imagine Child Sulley could have been voiced by Zach Callison
It would be amazing
15:34 "Really? Zombie sharks?"
I sense SyFy Channel's next made-for-tv movie...
Seeing this makes me wish this was a series more than a movie
Ooh, Recon looks amazing! I'd love a Monster's movie that deals with the actual mechanics of Monster-to-Human world.
Maybe they'll make a sequel to Monsters Inc. dealing with that. We know the energy source switched to laughter so maybe the animators will consider that as a story line.
15:55 Billy Crystal and John Goodman are the only 2 actors who voice Mike & Sully in deleted scene.
The theater idea would make for good continuity since they put on the musical in the end credits of the original movie
I would have adored the rivalry scene!
I honestly wish they kept the Rivalry scene because in Monster Inc, Mike claim that he met Sulley in the 3rd grade, not university.
(Which make sense)
Movie night would have been great to keep in; it would have given Mike his ideas for the scaring in the camp cabin
Recon scene makes a lot of sense and helps build the world more
My favorite deleted scenes is Rivaly 0:52 and drama class part 1 13:09 part 2 15:29 part 3 17:48 (my opinion)
I think they could've kept the scene where they've joined theatre studies instead of the scream can desgin scene
Even though it got cut, Recon would have made for a really good short. Honestly it's a shame it got abandoned completely, there was a lot of potential still left in it!
I do want some explanation on what's up with Terri. Was his original character design suppose to be one of multiple personalities? Interesting choice.
Furthermore, I would've loved to see the Drama Class scenes animated, they looked fun!
I believe Terri was that guy who's constantly changing his style because he's "trying to find himself", or something along the lines of that.
This play of bunny and flower is so funny. 17:01 & 17:06

They should've kept the "rivalry" scene, Also I liked the drama class scenes because they added some more lore.
i would've loved for the drama class to be a part of the movie
Mike looked so adorable at a young age in the first one! 😍
I would love to see a short for the drama class
18:15 OH MY GOD, is that a reference to The Room?!
(Please excuse my multiple comments. I'd edit them, but I'm on the RUclips app.)
I absolutely adored the drama class story line but get why they had to scrap it
11:00 so she basically punched him.
They clearly only thought up the frighton elementary joke after they cut that first deleted scene.
4:41 you shouldn't have gave them a choice,sir.
4:21 when Someone Said I’m Your Hippie
philby85 that’s funny
Woooaahhh Clair was completely the opposite in drama class than in the final product
I would have greatly preferred something like this over what we got.
I sooo wish to work at Pixar, my biggest dream ever to be an animator. I'm hoping to be there one day oh please :,)
you can learn on a school
+Alex Oddly enough, I have the exact same dream. Maybe we'll see each other there ;)

+Alexstormist I'll see you there!! :D It's my biggest dream too!
+Alexstormist Than make your wishes come true!
Man I wish it would make it to the final cut 😔
They should have keepen the drama class!
8:53 Johnny slays in this part ✨
The deep voices of the kids make me die itsfunny
Awesome deleted scenes!! Thanks for uploading these, love them so much :)
I actually prefer the cinema scene rather than the slime and flowers they kept
3:20 poor mike🥲 my boy 😔
I remembered looking at this sometimes a long time ago
I personally think the “movie night” scene could have stayed. If the changes dons line to “no matter how much we try, we’ll never be like them”.
I'm glad that they cut all of these scenes out of the movie. They managed to recycle the important bits, and the movie really works better without them.
That Part of Your Brain You Don't Listen To I actually agree with you 😜
Also the Johnson name reminds me of that first draft of the film worker Sully was originally going to be named Johnson
They could've made Monsters University first before Monsters Inc.
17:02 that's my favorite part.
Any more details on phyllis at 9:18? Or was she an entirely scrapped character?
Jfreek5050 She looks and sounds just like Corey from The Incredibles.
+One of Those Human Beings I'll bet same voice.
It just felt like they cut everything that was really pixar out of the film
I have some opinions about some scenes

Someone tell me why I like to watch deleted parts lop
Lol
I like to watch them to
Yay I'm not alone!
I have a feeling that somewhere during production, the staff wanted to make young Sulley a child prodigy in scaring.
So from First to Seventh Grade, Mike and Sully got their worst school years? Fifth Grade is the worst year for me.
True Dat
aw baby monster inc is so cute look how cute sully is. and mikey
What happens if they kept rivalry in the movie instead
That Reminds me of The Big Trip Movie (2019)
It was so cute of originally planning to have Mike and Sulley meet up in grade school because of the fourth grade quote in Monsters Inc.

for the sca- I mean bunny games lol
Wow thats storybord is more cool abd interesing than original
