Hello from Thailand I think the problem is most people are so use to sitting to 💩 and not squatting It’s also go to do with the brain signals of people in western countries that when they go to use a squat toilet to 💩 for the first time their mind goes no you can’t go like this 😂😂😂😂 Where by in Indonesia nearly 99 percent of toilets are squatting in homes & public ect

I had the same thought at you when it came to squat toilets...it can be possible to only use western toilets in some places, but don't always count on it. I also tried to "hold it" in certain situations and it came to a point where I was not going to be around any western toilets and just had to figure it out and do it. One thing I did learn is in places where they are not use to Western toilets, if you're not in nice accommodations, these western toilets are usually worse than squat toilets...they don't know how to maintain them and they end up looking like a toilet you'd see at a club at the end of the night, just disgusting plus a lot of them don't have toilet seats, so don't fall in either. LOL If you use the tips I give in here and just push past the fear of using them, you'll see they are not as bad as we have them in our heads. :D
I’m disabled with a joint disease… my knees could never… otherwise it’s not that bad, I mean we had an outhouse at our cabin in the woods (a weekend/vacation place not our home) so while I prefer a nice clean western bathroom, I’ve “desensitized” myself to the differences quite a bit.
Thanks for the video. Ver very informative. I do have a question. So these places dont have paper to wipe, and sometimes not a place to put paper. What happens if you have to have a very non-pleasent #2, if you know what I mean?
One thing you should alway pack in a bag with you is a small packet of tissues, but upon saying "a huge summer blowout" another thing that could be great to also have in your bag is a small travel size packet of wet wipes, which are great for a lot of different situations. Most place will have a bum gun which would be useful, but I never learned how to work those well enough to not get some clothing wet. lol
Your question can be taken two different ways, so I will answer both "versions". If you pull your pants down to your ankles you will end up peeing on them. When you pull your pants down to just your knees, they will be out of shot and you can pull them out forward in front of you to double ensure no pee will get on them. :) An unfortunate learning experience for myself, hahah. If you are asking why I suggest to roll up your pants to your knees instead of leaving them, it is a case of not wanting to get them wet. In most squat toilets the floor is usually wet, and you don't know if that is water or pee. So when the floor is wet or dirty, roll those pants up to keep dry and clean. :)
Unfortunately, in the majority of the ones I have used there was never a stool or anything to sit on, let alone hold on to so you don't fall over. If you are planning on traveling in these countries while your knee is still injured, I would see if maybe you can bring something portable that you can use easily.
I’m a guy. If I have to urinate using a squat toilet, should I aim my pee towards that hole or just pee anywhere in the squat toilet? Sorry for the weird question.
@@Matt-xh6rm squat toilets will usually have a bucket of water with a scoop to flush everything down...my advice is if you need to do #2, throw some water on the toilet area first so "it" doesn't get stuck trying to "flush" it down the hole. ;) hah
I’m still so irritated that this archaic style of toiletry is still so common. Some of the brightest people in the world and you just go in a hole in the ground? Used toilet paper in a nasty little basket? Wtf is wrong with you? I want the toilet WITH the bidet! There’s no shame in being clean and comfortable while you go. I also light a candle and have my favorite soaps ready for after. Just so confused how this is still a thing.
Squatting makes it so bloody easier to go to the 🚻 toilet definitely makes it you empty everything in your gut Western toilets are not bad but squatting is better like using a squat potty

Ive a injured knee at moment too....isnt there a stool to sit on?? (pun not intended)
