    Thank you so much! Last year I used your videos to learn about Mohr's circle and passed my exam thanks to you, and now these videos help me a lot for the Cross method. My books are so unclear about this and you explained it very well!

    structurefree Thank you for taking time to make these moment distribution videos. They really explain minor details such as the sign conventions for moments and how they relate to the signage in the distribution table... Oh...how I wish this was explained with care in our lecture. Once again. Thank you!

    Are PDFs (or some other format) of the written notes available anywhere? I'd love to get a printout of them.

    very kind and good work...........
    add videos on both moment distribution and slope diflection for indeterminate frame i.e box frame , triangular frame , gable frame.

    Hi, like your vibe with teaching this stuff. Wanted to ask, do you know why moment distribution is highly valued as it doesn't include shear effects? So then the overall displacement isn't found, right?

    Hi, which method you think is the fastest one to calculate the max moment on continuous beam? I need this to applied to Reinforced Concrete Beams. Can you make an example starting from the slabs carrying the loads to the beams? Thanks.

    • @structurefree
      @structurefree  10 лет назад +1

      I like the slope deflection equations since you get rotations and moments all in one and it's easy to set up in matlab or mathcad. If this is for an exam, and it's all pin or roller supported and the loading is just uniformly distributed...moment distribution may be the way to go...I don't think I've answered anything here...I get this question a lot and to be quite frank, I think the method you know best and will get right is the way to go.

    • @ericcalonico5621
      @ericcalonico5621 10 лет назад

      It is for exams of Reinforced Concrete, where we have the Reactions from the slabs carrying over to the beams. Sometimes a concentrated force and the uniformly distributed on the beam. I just need to figure it out the Max.Moment, MK, at the moment.

    why does exterior simple support has DF = 1
    and if it's overhang, DF = 0
    ??

      from a PDF I downloaded and a book I bought but its in Arabic so If you give me your email I can send you a note in English and steps to solve the problems ( beams & frames ) because
      only moment distribution can solve the truss
