Another factor as to why the knights dominate in group battles is because of the Cacos' chunkiness. Not only are they thicker targets (which are never missed, unlike hks) but it also causes a lot of blockage to neighbor cacos.
The caco winning the 1 vs 1 showed nicely the caco ranged aggression. Because the caco doesn't think it has a melee attack (even though it does) it attacks more frequently from range than other mixed demons
He effectively attempts both types of attacks at once unlike other monsters that share ranged and melee attack motions. Smart of him-or maybe just dumb of the others.
Hell Knights are just a bit more tanky (500 HP compared to Caco's 400 HP) and can dish out higher amounts of damage than the Cacos are able to. EDIT: Though 1vs1 on UV, forgot Cacos will attempt to put distance from attackers where it can and this helps plenty with the arena's wide open space. Helps give it just enough of an edge to win against one Hell Knight. But outcome above still happens with the increased aggression on Nightmare.
@@NoName-dc5df That was likely from how enemy AI performs detection and attacking on UV and lower difficulty. When a player's detected, the enemy AI is programmed to move for a certain number of tics before attacking with a projectile (or gets into range for a melee attack in the case of a Demon or Spectre). If the attack misses, they will move at an angle to attempt getting in position to fire at the player's current direction. The Cacodemon's behavior is a little unique from most enemy types in that flying above the ground, it will actually make an effort to put distance between you if any damage is inflicted on it. In areas with wide open space, this can make it a nuisance to try killing off because the full damage of weapons is increasingly likely to not connect the further a Caco is from you.
My idea is to give both sides elevator bleachers to make better use of height. I don't think you can actually pre-elevate flying monsters under stock DOOM level design rules.
I love this battle it was so funny to see the Cacodemons try so hard but get their asses kicked, I was thinking besides my request for the Spidermastermind vs Pain Elementals that when you’re done doing all possible matchups you can start doing mixed teams vs mixed teams for example Former Sergeants and Hell Knights vs Cacodemons and Imps lol that would be my first mixed teams matchup request if you were to ever start doing something like that because I am aware that you can create any kind of teams you want I believe
@@darkpawdingo5331 yeah but then who would target who? I know you can program 2teams to target each other that’s simple but a 3way battle I don’t know how it would work, 2teams could end up ganging up on 1team and it would be totally unfair if that were the case, the only way it would be fair is if each team broke off from each other and attacked separate teams but I don’t know how you’d program to target each other don’t get me wrong I love the idea but it sounds hard to pull off
It happened again! The monster on right in 1v1 walked away at the start. Or, to be more precise, both monsters defaulted to moving east. Maybe it has to do with a reset RNG table?
damn, to this day i have never noticed the blue spots on the cacos' backs when they shoot. and i know doom since the swastika-room still had a swastika.
they have similiar health and damage values. i just hate the random damage factor. i know cacos can do a max of 60 knights can do 60 - 80 i think just like revenants
Depends on scenario. But for group battles with even numbers, Hell Knights are too tanky and dish out higher amounts of damage. But make it 1v1 with enough open space, the Caco has a habit of putting distance from its attacker on UV and this helps give it the edge against one Hell Knight due to how enemy AI works with detection and attacking. A different matter on Nightmare where the increased aggression and attack frequency favors the Hell Knight.
1:59... Caco contemplating his life so far...
Didn't even notice 🤣
"Why are here...? Just to suffer?"
LOL taking a moment to catch the breath
"Milk, eggs, bread... am i forgetting anything else? Damn it."

I feel like enemy infighting is just the best in Doom. No other game is it quite as satisfying on that for some reason

on UV everything start to rash lol this is weird
It was the opposite, the Caco tried to get up close and the Hell Knight tried to create distance on UV.

Cacos overcome brawn disadvantage with brains. They ain't all head just for levitation and cuteness. €(•{
Cacodemons and Elemental Pains AI should use more the Z axis to avoid the line of sight being blocked. They would be way more effective.

@@darkpawdingo5331 me too I hope so more fun I’d then want Mancubus vs Pain Elemental vs Chaingun Dude
@@Shadowtrooper09 I love how evenly matched the 20v20 battle was for a while!!! I had no clue who was going to win!!!
