On January 1, 1998 a group of rappers, actors, musicians, and performers came together to record a demo in the basement of a Richmond district house in San Francisco and Felonious was born. Known for 'turning hip-hop shows into ass-shaking musical theater' (Eric K. Arnold) Felonious fuses live music, theater, virtuosic beatboxing, free style rap, and arts education in everything we do.
2018 marks the 20th anniversary of our critically acclaimed collective and we are celebrating with a menu of events including a performance party the first weekend of March at the Flight Deck in Oakland, workshop of a new solo show by Felonious member Dan Wolf throughout January, a 30-minute selection of Currency - Dan Wolf's all-female adaptation of Merchant of Venice - as part of the FuryFactory in July, a collaboration with Envision Academy in Oakland where we connect students to history through artistic expression in April, the development of a new collaboration with Campo Santo, and the release of new music from our production of Babylon is Burning.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support our work. Please join us in creating opportunities for Bay Area artists to shine. Because our non-profit artist management organization Circuit Network is fiscally sponsoring Felonious, your donation is tax-deductible. The funding will support direct project expenses, venue rental, artist fees, and promotion of the 20th Anniversary Season.
Thank you for supporting our work!
