    Quick, easy, and thrifty alternative to buying a new table: mark the correct height for the leveling screws with a marker, buy four nuts that fit the leveling screws, remove each leveling screw one by one and thread on two nuts each. The top nut will be adjusted up to the marker line and the bottom nut will be adjusted to snug up against it. The top nut will set the correct level, and the bottom nut will prevent the top nut from moving. It should cost about 10-20 cents per nut. If there's only room for one nut before reinstalling, get a bottle of Loctite Blue 242 and put a drop on the screw thread at the marker line before adjusting. Note: Loctite Blue 242 is in a red bottle, and Loctite Red 271 is in a blue bottle. Blue is temporary in case you need to readjust, Red is permanent-ish. a 6ml tube should cost you about $8. Hope that made sense and helps.

      Great tip. However in my case it eventually turned out the actual wood had warped a little, probably from the heat of constant use of a heat mat and large resin makes curing too. Resin gets very hot. This new glass one should be perfect but I’ll bear in mind your tips if I have any issues

    I was thinking... I wonder if you can wrap thread tape (like you put around pipe fittings before screwing them together) around the screws on the legs of your leveling table to keep it from unscrewing as easily.

    • @miniscenesgb
      @miniscenesgb  Год назад

      Tried that, but it’s turned out since it was actually that the wood had warped. I think from the heat of large resin pieces curing, maybe my heat mat too, not sure. So that table is in the bin now though I removed the legs in case I find another use fir them 😊

    Have you tried thread loc on the screws or PU tape as a semi permanent solution to stop them moving on their own as if they work it would be a cheaper option than buying a new leveling Board

    • @miniscenesgb
      @miniscenesgb  Год назад +1

      Yep. Seems the wood was being affected by the heat of the bigger moulds when resin cures, and my heat mat. No more wooden levelling tables for me ;) It's gone straight in the bin lol

    Always love 💕 watching your videos. I’m interested in PU but nervous 😅with the timing… still a noob and I work like a headless chicken. You don’t want to even see my workspace cause it would give you nightmares 😂. Do have a question… is PU as hard as resin? (In resistance)

    • @miniscenesgb
      @miniscenesgb  Год назад

      yes it's tough. though for very fin things - like this dragon's tail, epoxy edges it because it has a tiny bit of give to it where as PU will snap . it's lighter than Epoxy too which is handy if you're posting stuff. I have to say though, because I've found these moulds to be slightly off level - if I'd levelled better, that til would have been slightly thicker. For small pieces like Jewellery it's very tough, and for chunky pieces too - but long and very thin like that tail is the only time I've had it break. It's pretty awesome to use. Love the new Let's Resin one. Such fun to watch cure
