Think Edson Barboza. Beautiful striking, switch kicks, BJJ. Khabib smashed him for 5 rounds. Nullified his offense. But non-stop pressure resulted in a massacre. It went the distance but Barboza probably wished it didn’t. That’s Kenny. Perfect technique, style, speed, smooth. Webb pushes and is always there. So many parallels between MMA and Moto. This podcast shows the depths of pro MX/SX.

If tomac was consistent he’d have sooo many 450 titles right now it would be crazy. AC is soo fast he simply needs to slow down and he would be hard to beat. Cooper Webb may not be the fastest guy but his cornering, always riding consistent lap times and race craft is why he's so tough to beat in Supercross. If you're behind him running a faster pace he still won't let you by, he is very good at knowing where you're trying to make a pass on him and ends up shutting the door just about every single time. Wouldn't shock me if he went back to back but I'm going ET3 on the Yamaha this year.

The "fastest" rider varies from track to track. There were races where Webb wasn't the fastest guy, but there were also races where he hunted Roczen down while also slowly gapping Tomac. Webb is very often the fastest when the gate drops in the main event, and in the races where he isn't the fastest, he maximizes the speed he has to get the best finish possible. Overall though, in the 17 races, Webb was the fastest rider. That's why he's the champ

No that's not why he's a champion, there's a couple guys with more raw speed and better roll speed, he was way off the pace outdoors... and ask James if raw speed wins titles on its own. He was the fastest hands down and only got 2 titles in supercross when he was fast enough to probably tie or break MC's records if he had the other things cooper possesses.. speed is only one aspect, there's a couple guys who are faster, It's his mentality and lack of mistakes that cost most guys a lot of time that separates him. His consistency lap after lap, The way he can grab an inside and still carry speed or cut down and put the bike anywhere he wants it when other guys/bikes aren't able to do the same is what makes up for lack of raw speed, that and making fewer mistakes and then being in the positon to take advantage when other guys make their mistakes or start to fade physically..

I know you said it'[s your opinion, but you said Chase is a better rider twice and you're flat out delusional if you honestly believe that. I've heard some really hot takes, but this is the worst. All you have to do is compare their career performance. Webb by far has a better 250 career, no contest. 17 career 250 wins VS Chases 7 wins across both classes. He has 1 more title than Chase there, which happens to be an outdoor title which Chase doesn't have. And the same with Webbs 450 career. 18 SX wins, 2X SX champ, 2 450 outdoor national wins- How does any of that equate to Chase being a better rider than Webb?

Chase sexton literally won his 250 titles the same way Webb won his 450s. Not the fastest but stayed on his bike. Forkner smoked sexton all year in 2019 but then he crashed out and handed it to sexton. I want to like sexton but don’t be a hypocrite bud. It’s not just about speed in supercross. Most people know that. But Webb is the best in supercross at the moment. Hands down.

Webb has 10 more 250 wins and 1 more 250 title than Chase does- add that in with Webb's 2 SX titles and 18 wins in the 450 class...it blows my mind hearing Jase say Chase is a way better rider than Webb. Makes zero sense.

.5 - 1.0 seconds isnt everything that everyone makes it out to be. When the gate drops on that 450 main the stadium environment and the clutch factor comes into play. Over the years Webb has shown that time and time again .

when we look back at Webb's 450 SX championship , no doubt in my mind he earned it as he was just ( ON )the whole season, I noticed he would do some very interesting combinations entering corners (where he would get most of his passes ) Webb would whip that KTM & it would land in the corner & the pass would happen in no time. Webb , Chase & Ferrandis hates to loose & it shows on their faces ,where others are happy to podium or simply get a top 5 . I think Sexton will be a big threat to all very soon & it will be interesting to see if he stays on red .

Did Carmichael or Reed fall into the top 5 in fastest lap times? Did McGrath? Same story different year. At that level, anyone can throw a fast lap. The difference in the champions is so much to do with mental awareness, consistency, and determination. With that said, Stew is an obvious outlier who could set the fastest lap nearly every race and had the mental qualities.

Cooper is much like Dungey was. Not the fastest...but usually the smartest and the most consistent. The same lap times from lap one to the checkers. I also think people don't like him because he stays rather private. He's not a camera hog and concerned about inflating himself. So people think he's standoffish. Mike LaRocco was like that too. But both are genuinely great guys and not dirty on the track. I see a good season from him in SX this year.

Dungey also wasn’t the most entertaining to watch out there since it was the same thing all the time. Dungey got the diesel nick name for these reasons.

Then what, Tomac and Roczen is going to be there of course. I think Tomac new bike maybe he starts pulling holeshots then what??

On the track I think Cooper has an F'you attitude. It isn't overt anger as that would mess up his race. He wants to dominate you, not fight you. I think he is just mentally F'you no friends on the track, he doesn't care about a bad move he makes and he makes you feel bad about a move you made. To race him you need to join him. I.e. no quarter, no F's given. Ride hard, ride hard and ride hard. Strip out the emotion and dominate him back.

Him saying going to the 450s was a reality check is the same thing that happened to Cooper an A.C. it's something that happens to alot of guys the power from the bike the weight difference it almost makes the 250 champions rookie riders again unless they have had some riding on the 450 like jett he ride the 450 alot an has done 450 races an he still has a few more years of 250 but when he goes over to the 450s it'll pay off he could potentially be the first person if I'm correct to transfer to the 450 class an win championship

The “drugs don’t make you faster” mentality is completely missing the point. Certain PEDs allow you to train harder and for longer, then recover quicker and training DOES make you faster.
That said I’m not throwing Broc under the bus because all kinds of shit gets put into supplements and all sorts these days so genuine mistakes can happen… but to pretend that PEDs can’t make you faster or fitter (and thus able to ride hard deeper into a moto) is insane.

This talk about Cooper not being that fast guy annoys me. I find it also a bit respectless towards his competitors whom he beats on a regular basis. If Cooper is able to hunt you down over a number of laps, it means he is bloody fast. Don't care if he's the fastest or what not.
Besides, if we talk about technicality and style, Cooper is a very short guy, it's physically impossible for him to use his body on the bike like Chase or Marvin do. That doesn't make Cooper a less talented rider.
Of course there's the multitude of other factors.
