Yo this is great. I have a question. I am 16 and homeschooled. I know that I am an amazing WR but I don't have schools around me that allow me to play. And in order for me to go into college, I would need some experience. So, it is hard for me. Got any tips on how I can accomplish my goals?
So id say to play 7on7 and a recreation league if that’s your only option. After high school I recommend either going to a “prep school” which is essentially one year after high school, helps if you have good grades so you can get a scholarship and I’m sure you do because you’re home schooled or go to a community college that has a team. You can get recruited to a bigger college from both of those options. But I would research those and make your decision from the research you do
Hey coach, I'm 16 & i want to attend a college football walk out tryout. 1. What age will you be eligible for it? 2. How would a college Walk-on tryout would be for offense & defense?
I think you have to be enrolled in the college or like accepted to the college to be eligible to tryout. Then I don’t know too much about defense specifically to tell you- but for both side of the ball- I would expect combine work (40, shuttle etc.) position drills, routes vs. air & then position 1on1s (like WR vs. DB & O-Line vs. D-Line)
Hey coach, i played football from 7-11, i played line for optimist not because i was big but i had freakishly long arms. Anyways, right now im 5’10 and 145-150 and 16 yo, part of me wants to bulk up and gain some muscle for football but im worried im gonna become super slow. Im not fast now but i feel i have some speed. Two questions : Should i bulk up or stay at the weight im at now and lean out? What can i do to become faster? Weightlifting/ and plyometrics wise..
So if you search up “first down training how to gain weight but keep speed” we have a video literally on the exact question you are asking. It will help you a lot!
