    This is the best mastering tutorial I have ever watched. I will use this for more than synthwave beats for sure! Thanks a lot!

    Wow ! thank you man, you have the best synthwave tuturials and I love your demo music. I am a beginner in music production and would love to make synthwave music. Your synthwave drum pack is amazing, would be glad if you could do a video explaining the various style tempos of synthwave music.

    Dude, there was 4 slots left, you could have tried to find 4 more compressors

      The point is that you don’t NEED to use all your slots to get the end goal sounding good. It’s about the sound. Not how many compressors you use.

      @@PUREMIA He should definitely have added 4 more compressors at least. Multiband if possible. And some Soundgoodizer+Sausage fattener patcher chain wouldn't hurt.

    So then FL Studio has an automatic brickwall cieling? Because the L2 is set to 0 and there's no clipping on the output, but there should be. This is not the first time I have seen an FL user ignore a limiter's cieling output and still avoid clipping, so FL must have an 'auto' setting.

      if the L2's Ceiling is 0db there wont be clipping. FL Studio does have a auto clipper built in which you can turn off in the settings.

      @@KritikalMassMusic Well I be…. Just tried it and after 15 years of using the L2 and setting it with a ceiling of at least -0.5 I never bothered to see what happens if it’s on 0. You’re right. But still, not good practice to keep a masters ceiling at 0.

    Thanks.. gotta say my mastering chain is not very good.. a parametric EQ and that's it. lol. Good insight here.

      I'm not Ste Ingham (of course, lol) and I know this comment is two years old. But I'll say it just in case anyone happens to fly by and see this. Don't worry about it too much if your song already sounds good and it's super polished from the mixing stage. You might not even need much more than a simple EQ.

    • @SteIngham
      @SteIngham  8 лет назад

      it works the same way, just add the vst's as you see them in this video. doesn't matter what DAW you use
