I was entertained from beginning to end. The hosts had good chemistry and attitudes. I was smiling at the screen. I’m out of my podcast slump. 5 stars. Would recommend.
You guys should bring back the game where you guess each other's books, where the other person gives an vague, out of pocket, one sentence summary with no context. Like for example for The Naturals: " A group of traumatized teenagers beat the FBI at their job."
We were liars is like one of my only 5 star books I’ve read. I think it’s like a very particular style that only some readers enjoy if that makes sense? And I don’t mean that in a snarky way, I just think the poetic sort of metaphoric writing only appeals to certain ppl. But I can’t wait for the show!
Omg Sarah! I understand not liking The Virg Suic book but you lost me at the movie. It's like one of my favorite movies :(((( I totally agree with We Were Liars
Not me over here being OBSESSED with Penelope Doulas as an author and thinking about A Love Letter to Whiskey on the daily😂😂 I get it though like genuinely I get it😂
About the elitism among classic readers I definitely agree that it is there and ir goes without saying that everyone is valid for not enjoying a classic I've absolutely been there I do however want to argue that the criticism is valid when a reviewer is giving a surface-level review now I haven't seen sara's review so I can't conclude anything but I do think when a reviewr says things along the lines of "I didn't like it, didn't like the characters 1 star moving on" without detailing and exploring the complexities of the characters for example or analyzing the work contextually , it is reasonable to conclude that they may not have fully understood or engaged with the material properly. But otherwise such a fun episode as usual
we were liars was the last book i read in 2023. i was one book away from hitting my goal on december 31st and read it and was disappointed to say the least.
I did not enjoy Happy Place. I thought that their communication absolutely sucked for two people that were supposed to have been together so long. Maybe second chance romance is just not my cup of tea. I did absolute love Funny Story by her though.
Sara I can't believe you hated We Were Liars!! I absolutely HATED that book when I read it and I was so mad that it blew up on TikTok!! Im literally so glad you also hated this book!

“what if i get it and i just don’t like it??” preach omg. thank you. even if a book is a classic it can still not be your cup of tea!
readers are so dramatic (on both sides of the rating scale) and that’s why i love us so much hahah
Reading 1 star reviews is my favorite thing ever ever.
especially if it was a book you hated 😂
This was such a funny vid 😂 I loved hearing the 1 ⭐️ reviews for your 5 ⭐️ reads. Def need more episodes like this

In high school, they used to play Dance Monkey EVERY SINGLE DAY on the radio on the way to school and my mother loved every second of it😭

I would not be able to sleep for 12 hours😂 And how do you have time to go to the gym and stuff after work?
No I feel the exact same way about We Were Liars

I don’t know why but both of them remind me of Elsa and Anna from Frozen since Density’s makeup 😂
So thankful for all your book recommendations this year. Love you both tons. I hope you come to Maine to visit me.
I love the guessing books based on reviews! If you do this again you should pick longer reviews too

Reading 1 star reviews always confuses me because I rethink my own rating so hard after LOL
we were liars was the last book i read in 2023. i was one book away from hitting my goal on december 31st and read it and was disappointed to say the least.
Ooooo I hope your rereleasing your bookmark’d merch! ❤
I have not read a Penelope Douglas book, but I have Punk 57 on my shelves because my sister leant it to me. 😂
Me watching this as a Penelope Douglas fan 🥲
Can someone tell me the name of the 1 star review IG account they were talking about at the beginning? I can’t find it 😭
I refuse to listen to any negative reviews of play along or caught up. Those are modern day classics to me 😅.
Such a fun podcast tho 🥰
My bunny review was so similar. I also gave it 5 stars. Idk I think I just like weird books.
Does anyone know where Destiny's sweater is from?
Aritzia
