That base is awesome. It's not giagantic, but it still feels big and somehow compact. Like there is everything needed for the best game experience, including all the land and underwater plants, which is crazy, but everything is on a relatively small surface area, and it still looks good. Like there si no over fill of the base, everything fits together very nicely. A high quality work man, good job! And over all, it's built in a pretty cool looking, but an annoying biome, with all those ampeels, bone sharks and even possible Reaper Leviathan visitors. I'm impressed, this just looks perfectly good.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was going for. To have everything that's necessary for a 'complete' base without making it too big or filling empty space with needless decoration. Plus I made it very close to the north entrance of the lost river because I use it the most.
@@shellshocktm Makes sense. You've accomplished your idea very successfully. Well done! And making it near both the Aurora, the best lost river entrance and relatively close to the spawn is a smart idea
@@shellshocktmhi!! I am playing subnautica now :) can you tell me where did you do your base? Aprox how far from the coral tube and in which direction? Thank you :) I am enjoying the game a lot! :)
Honestly your frames are still better than most Subnautica videos on YT so don't even sweat it. Most peoples PC looks like it's about to have a stroke playing and recording this game
lol really?? i play without graphic card this game on low settings it works great 40+ fps playable enough.. due to water movements it even feels like 60fps .. u can turn some setting down . this game is best optimized rathar than raft which is badly optimised for low end
I just got this game it was on sale for 11$ and Im already addicted. I just saw the sunbeam explode so I'm very early in game. I had no idea you can do this stuff in this game I'm amazed!
Hah yeah I finished the game on pc years ago, but now after ocean gate I purchased game on ps5 for 11£ and been building for two days without playing actual game lol
I'm debating my second base location right now. I know I'm building one around the cove tree in the lost river, but I want one more main base aside from my first in the shallows. This has a few ideas I'll definitely be using. Didn't know you could put two moonpools together like that. My current farm has the essentials, but now I kinda want one of everything. Thanks for the inspiration!
Life in Alterra territory sounds kind of crappy anyway, and Riley is 3 megacredits in debt in his first week. I genuinely felt bad about sending him back.
I can't believe I never thought of putting a base attached air pump in my gardens. That's brilliant! I'd been relying on brain coral in the planters, but an air pump is so much cleaner and more consistent.
honestly not sure why they added in the bioreactors. Most of the game takes place in areas where heading back to safe shallows isnt that much of a nuisance so solar power is all you need the majority of the time then late game thermal energy is all you need to stay down in the green river and lava zones. Having to always fill the bioreactor or nuclear reactors with materials seems like a needless chore. if someone has found a real benefit for it let me know.
Darker areas where there is neither, maybe like a bulb zone base, jellyshroom base, or lost river. And with growbeds theyre easier to fuel than nuclear
The rods for the nuclear reactor are kinda expensive but they last forever. So for a while you literally have constant 2500 power. I tried the Thermal energy but for some reason it wouldn’t work, tried everything and it was still bugged
I like using bioreactors for my temporary pop-up bases. The sort of thing I keep materials for in my Cyclops so I can slap down anywhere I happen to be so I can run a scanner or upgrade a vehicle at a moonpool.
My base is in the shallows and I use bio reactors. I used to have solar panels spammed everywhere but power kept going out at night. Tried nuclear but was too lazy to stock up on uranite
So you wake up and a ladder is in your face Your TV is to the side on the wall, that's gonna crick your nexk Your moonpools are on the wrong side, you want your prawn/seamoth facing outward so you don't have to physically turn around each time you depart and also means storage compartments are closer to the corridor

Tbh, I haven't yet beaten Subnautica. Prolly never will. I've cured everyone, built a rocket, but have zero intention of leaving the planet. The addition of the Large Room and Glass Dome feels like an invitation to stay. Now I'm looking for interior design ideas cos I suck at this sorta thing. Heh.
А моя первая база была скромной... Очень ... Я построил её в притык к спасательной капсуле на поверхности воды, и в ней был резервуар для мотылька посередине и де цельных комнаты по бокам , одна для крафтов,другая для жрачки....
it's the normal big room but with the wall partition and door added in to make it appear smaller, separating the one giant space into two smaller ones. the original game was updated to have the bigger room that below zero introduced. meaning you are not forced to use multipurpose rooms anymore.

It's weird because even though I built a base the lifepod still feels like home. Porbably just need more time to adjust.
I love the design very cool base
Nice compact base yet contains almost everything. I am also fond of this kind of base design.
I am still working out my main base but overdone it.
Would love to see more Subnautica content from you 👍🏻
Where did you park your Cyclops?
Also this is the best base I have ever seen, nice job! 👍

where did you build it? i would really like to copy this base in my own world but i cant find a good spot
In ur rwactor room, jowd u place signs on reinforcements
Do you have so much energy so you can charge power cells for cyclops? If not then why ?
Use thermic based energy
Man, i love this game so much I hope they have a co-op so I can play with me buddies.
Apparently there is a mod to make you able to multiplayer, haven't tried it yet
