Few other details you guys and other audiences might have missed are
    1. The director has shown 5 elements in his film, you can catch them in 1st movie when mahendra Bahubali goes to palace he crosses all 5 elements i.e. air, sky, fire, earth, water.
    2. Small Easter egg - in the starting of final fight with pindari/bandits in kingdom of devasena, when Bahubali removes sword from 3-4 people at once, he then shrugs it you can actually see the number 2 formed with blood denoting the movie name
    3. If you notice, most of the characters dies in a direct or indirect way of their karma,
Queen mother gifts bhalla a bow and gets killed with bow
Pindari/bandits killed their victims by drowning them in water, and they themselves got killed due to water
Bhalla's son puts his foot on bahubali's mother's head and gets killed by Bahubali with his head being decapitated
    4. Similarities between Bahubali son father duo
Both were not raised by their own mother.
Both fell for lady from kuntala kingdom.
Both of them had name shiva/shivu/shivudu at some point.
Both of them fell in love with their ladies when they witnessed them fighting.
Both of them decapitated heads of person who tortured or insulted devasena
Both of them save their mother during the walking ritual
    5. In 2nd part during rituals, 1st time a demon statue is burned, 2nd time a real demon is burned.
    6. Small detail- during erecting gold statue red powder is placed to reduce the shock of the statue which can damage the statue itself
    7. While entering mahismati, the ship in which Bahubali and devasena came have kuntala's flag which gets broken due to elephants foot, showing kuntala's reign ends here.
    8. The place where the song takes place between mahendra bhahubali and Avantika in the 1st movie is the palace of fallen kuntala kingdom
    9. You can actually see the map of all the important places described in both movies in the opening credits of the 1st movie.
    10. Now the MOST EPIC DETAIL, both the weapons, the big stone throwing machine used by bahubali and the people cutter used by bhallaldeva in 1st part war were actually invented during the time of Ajatshatru (492-460 BCE) ( it is the same time period around which Gautam Buddha lived (founder of Buddhism))

Pouring Blood over the shrine has a huge symbolism too... That shrine is called 'Shivling'.. for the Lord Shiva of Destruction, after whom shivu is named in the movie.
The custom is that liquid must be poured over the shrine as an offering called 'abhishek'. Water or milk is poured over the shrine in temples. So when shivu puts the shrine under the waterfall in the first movie, it will be forever bathed in water in eternal 'abhishek'. In the final fight scene in this movie.. he bathes the shrine in his blood.
In the final scene, where he lodges the sword in Bhalla's leg in the funeral pyre, you can see Lord Shiva in the clouds in the first shot and then his father, amarendra bahubali in the second shot

Also this movie is all about connecting the dots.
One more thing - I would recommend you to watch the movie till it ends...like till the last name shows up... there's a small boy talking to an old man referring Mahendra Bahubali as his dad... it's the mysteries part and you guyz will love it...Namaste from India🙏😇

The last scene ( stone ) is Lord Shiva and in Hinduism , your Head is considered your Ego and when the statue head came down near Lord Shiva's feet , that is symbolism that everything is under his feet and no one beyong him. Lord Shiva is creator and destroyer God in our culture.

Damn I seriously loved this reaction and the way you guys understood the metaphors of these movies. Also I just love Father's reaction the best. He's so wholesome, caring and the best analyzer, not to mention like him I also like Kattapa. The elder brother is the best, he just gets everything and even helps his family understand it and the reaction is just so relatable. The mom although don't speak much but I love how she gets the emotional depth. The sister is just so cool and lovely, everything she says is just sweet. The younger brother also doesn't speak that much like mom but I swear his expressions cracks me up 😂 not to mention he gets the metaphors so well. You guys are seriously great. That is the immense talent of Director SS Rajamouli, to infuse such strong reasons and emotions in the story arc of the main characters that audience starts wanting them to fly, jump high, shoot 3 arrows at once and all that. 🙌😍

@@nemobarry583 but the kiss never happened. The kiss only took part when the heroine showed that she loved the hero. And also realise that the story was back before year 2000. So these feminism and all that stuff were weak. And also, we Indians value emotions, promises and Relationships a lot. Bahubali is a clear example for that.

Well you can here see the difference between father and son , his father Amrendra Bahubali was a legendary swordsman because he was trained but his son Mahendra Bahubali was raised in a village so he wasn't a good swordsman like his father. His father was like kill thousands with one sword. I love his father's scenes more in the two movies and when he died with digging his sword and his posture, man that scene was intense. And also when Bhallaldeva was about to be killed by Bahubali's son he sees his father's shadow in the sky with thunder that scene was also amazing.

  • @kohl0.0

Just wanted to say... Bahubali's English translation would be Armstrong and that explains his strengths and also the son wasn't trained like a soldier which is why he fights with only power and gets beaten up whereas his father received training since childhood and was without any flaws in fighting

    1. 3 Idiots or
    2. Dangaal
    3. Bajrangi Bhaijan

Vijayendra Prasad is the story writer of both Bahubali and Bajarangi Bhaijan and father of Ss Rajamouli

I'm sure a lot of people have commented about the symbolism of the golden head falling down the waterfall. I mean there are overall a lot of parallels with the Ramayan and the Mahabharat in Baahubali. But the shattered head of the giant statue IMO is a clear reference to Ozymandias in Egypt by P B Shelley. Quote "Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies". We see the shivaling standing where Shivu had placed it. This too refences the poem, Ozymandias (very much like Bhalla) had made a giant statue as a testament to his power and a challenge to the gods. Quote "My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!" But time had defeated and almost obliterated him.

One thing I observed in Rajamouli movies is it always has a setup and a payoff for it. The palm tree thing doesn't come out of no-where in the end, Baahubali (the father) bends the tree to get the water out of a well and when kattappa says think like your father, son does the same.

BAAHUBALI definitely uses many symbols. It's always fun to watch other people notice them too! I'm so glad I saw this... But truly, I know you have a few movies already lined up, but I want to recommend two movies that I believe the mom would love (because she seemed to be uncomfortable in the action bloody scenes haha), and even the others too, because it has a GREAT plot and message. It's definitely some of the top one out there:
*3 IDIOTS* and *TAARE ZAMEEN PAR* are the representative movies I want to recommend to anyone trying to get into Indian cinema. Unlike this movie which was Tollywood, these two films are Bollywood and they are SO good. They both got numerous awards for the portrayal and acknowledgment of some very serious issues but with both wit and humor. They
re family-friendly and bring a definite dose of happiness to you.
*3 IDIOTS* is about academic pressure and student suicides. Although it's a heavy topic for a movie, it still delivers with wonderful acting, great music and a LOT of humor. It is actually one of the highest-grossing films of India, and for rightful reasons. I definitely recommend it very highly. It's one of those movies you can watch again and again without getting bored.
*TAARE ZAMEEN PAR* is about learning disabilities in children. Again, it's a heavy topic but one that is portrayed both with sensitivity and respect. I really love this film so much. Like the first, phenomenal acting on the child actor's part, hilarious and heart-warming plot, a journey filled with both drama, tears and growth. This is such a beautiful film.
