My grandmother Ruth Power from Washington State was 18 the year was top of the charts. I loved her so much. I didn’t get to ask her all the questions that I think of today. My dad, also, born in '28 - he played classical violin and also tuba in his HS dance band and later OSU marching band. Eclectic taste in popular stuff - appreciated anything technical and novelty

Music from the year my daddy was born.............makes me wonder when he was older what music he listened to. He passed away one week from my 8th b'day.. back in 1966.

Thank you for sharing another fine selection of musical treats. My own favourite is song number 9. It is wonderful to listen to the entire song. In fact, I think this is the first time I have heard it done so. Usually it is only the chorus we hear.

I wonder if Scrappy Lambert ever worked with Anson Weeks? That would be a great combo, but I haven't seen that combination. Nice collection here, for sure.

Another nice selection. The vocalist on #3 is the great tenor James Melton. I also believe that #1 is played too fast, because Scrappy's voice is pitched unnaturally high. And wow! Does Johnny Marvin ever go "sharp" at 11:21.
His voice does sound a bit high on track 1. That transfer came from my friends collection, so he made the recording. Johnny Marvin sounds okay to me on his track. I am able to adjust the speed on the turntable but I usually use the known speed settings for the period that are published. I only started doing that more in the last year. I am unable to pitch every recording as that would take way too long.

Bob, I cannot imagine how it took me so long to punch up this set - but it is absolutely superb wall-to-wall. However, what really impelled me to throw in a comment was the Blue Danube variation - just beyond great. As always, many thanks and best wishes from the pax41 Ukraine Fan Club.
That selection is a great one. It's the best version I have heard of that song but I do like Jesse Crawford's organ version.
