- Bajaj Pulsar N160 Motorcycle Review: Insights from a TVS Apache RTR Owner!
It's really difficult to pick a motorcycle in the 160cc segment. The Bajaj N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V happen to be one of the best 160 motorcycle. In this video I have shared my experience with the new Bajaj Pulsar N160. We have discussed about the new Pulsar N160's engine, brakes, performance. How comfortable is the Pulsar N160 with its suspension setup and seats, we find it in this video.

Pulsar N160 Exhaust sound & Fly by note: ruclips.net/user/shortsUymQiwHr5W8?feature=share
Bajaj has done some black magic. Pulsar F/N250, N160 & N150 are ultra smooth and refined, even better than Honda. Their 2v engines are revv happy and have stronger low end & midrange power surge than Apache's. The gearbox is so damn slick and clutch pull is so soft. That infinity display with tachometer and backlit switches look really premium at night. And their LED projector headlamp is top notch, it illuminates the road like the LED headlamps of some premium cars.
You mean, black magic on their engineer's? 😜 Jk
@@krishnachaitanya8590Maybe 😂
Not sure about the magic 😅 Totally agree with the rest 👍
They stopped making f250 and other one
@@AdityaEnergySolutions Yes. Some updates are coming
As an RTR 200 owner ...I have test rode the initial batches of N160 and the bike was awesome...Refined ...good breaks...similar characters like the RTR
Short, crisp and honest review, as always :)
The new gen Pulsar platform seems impressive and I was also delighted to see the analog tacho swipe up, something which is sorely missed in today's bikes.
Kudos Bajaj.
Pulsar N150/P150/N160 have updated oil pump and new high viscosity index 10w40 engine oil.
Unlike older pulsars having very old and outdated oil pump with low viscosity index 20w50 engine oil which cause unstable oil pressure, the new pulsar has stable oil pressure.
This can be easily felt when continuously riding on the highway, then suddenly coming to traffic and after 2 min of continuous slow traffic, when suddenly pickup is required, engine will harse more due to less oil pressure (due to increased oil temperature and reduced viscosity), but due to high viscosity index, the oil will drop less viscosity even when overheated, so, providing better oil pressure.
Which engine oil do they recommend and how much it cost?
@@seepranavg
For New pulsar N150/P150/N160, a high viscosity index 10w40 oil is used. I don't know the cost. But you can used Motul 7100 10w40.
Or even combination of 80% 7100 10w40 and 20% 7100 20w50.
@@sujaybiswas783 Was this high viscous oil recommend since the N160 launched or recently like after BS 6.2 update?
@@seepranavg
No, from begining, these 3 pulsars are having 10w40 oil from begining. There is nothing to do about BS 6.2 with engine oil.
I think you may be confused between viscosity and viscosity index.
A highly viscous (high viscosity (for example, xW50)) oil may be of high viscosity index (10w50) or low viscosity index (20w50).
Same on the other hand, a less viscous (low viscosity (for example, xW30)) oil may be of high viscosity index (0w30) or low viscosity index (20w30).
If viscosity index is high, then the viscosity range will be less (less change in viscosity over temperature change, at very low temperature, viscosity will not increase too much and at very high temperature, viscosity will not drop too much)
If viscosity index is low, then the viscosity range will be high (more change in viscosity over temperature change, at very low temperature, viscosity will increase too much and at very high temperature, viscosity will drop too much)
@@seepranavg
Bajaj has reduced viscosity, but increased viscosity index in the new 10w40 oil.
Hence, it is less viscous, but will have high viscosity index than Bajaj 20w50.
If Bajaj gave these colour options for N250 then it would sell like crazy ❤ because it only gets Brooklyn black as their sole colour .
Bajaj just managed to create the best alternative to Yamaha FZ25 and it still doesn't sell really well because of Bajaj not giving it dual channel ABS variant at first and then no colour options when it finally gets Dual channel ABS there is no colour options except black .I feel sad because all i see is N160 on the road ,N250 is rarely seen on roads .
I am looking forward to buy it in future but i am scared Bajaj might discontinue it because of low demand in 2024 .
Anyway you are not going to get a N250 for review from anyone. Because the bike is a rare gem and you can only get it by asking for a test ride at showrooms.
Pls suggest me ..which bike should i buy RTR 160 2V or N150 or N160 .. pls tell Me Anna
Apache 160 2v or N160 Please suggest me.. because i have a very bad experience with apache 160 4v....
Proud n160 owner❤❤❤❤
What type of engine oil is better for apache rtr 160 4v rather than true4 synthetic oil
Sir mai delhi se hu
Meri creata petrol car hai
Service center mai oil 0w 30 fully synthetic dala hai
0w 30 sahi dala hai ya 5w 30 dalna chaheye plese jabab jarror dijiyega sir
man you need to change your memory cards being used in the go pro. your footage has a lot of artifacts and goes blurry quite often
i also noticed this often .. i thought its a glitch in my mobile.. 😆
Runs fine on my PC, looks like a glich with the 4K GoPro files processing.
Thanks for highlighting it, let me see if the same happens with 1080P files.
this has been happening for quite some time now but I didnt comment thinking its a one off event.@@thesportztourer
Suggest me some fully synthetic oil for Hyundai Verna diesel 2018
Is there any alternate engine oil for true4 synthetic for Apache rtr 1604v
I want an F160 now their F250 looks and feels underrated
0:26 No n160 is not bigger then rtr160 4v all dimensions are less then rtr whether its ground clearance, seat height, width, length and overall height.. so correct you facts bro.. 💀
For maximum efficiency, keep the rpm at 5k or 5-6k range atleast. The bike will easily go above it,but the most relaxed position is 5-6k.
New e20 N160s along post NS160 BS6.1 update N160s have the Eurogrip tires. Earlier N160s had MRF Zapper tires which were given to N250 after NS160 BS7 upgrade
Its BS 6.1 not BS7.
@@seepranavg okay
I have ridden the N160 and felt the riding posture aggressive. How does this compare with RTR 160 4v in this regard as i have never ridden the latter?
Which will u prefer at this time . N160 or Apache 160 4v?
Family person . Rider plus 2. Need a great machine and also comfortable one.
Of late I am preferring the N160 for the all round package it is offering with better reliability this time.
@@thesportztourer Thank you for your reply. Means a lot to me. I'll go for that too.
Can i use shell ax7 1litre & shell advance ultra 200ml of same 10w40 grade in apache?
You should also try the N250, great machine at that price point.
Yes, After riding the N160 I really want to experience the N250.
Discontinued
Easily my most fav 150-160cc bike in India - N160..
If i had money then i would take Pulsar over KTM simply just because of ' chapri ' tag associated with KTM . bajaj pulsars are also not immune to chapri ' tag but pulsars are less associated to this tag then KTM .
Nice Crisp review, No frill review. Very concise and to the point. This color is unique( in a good book)
But the latest model doesn't have DTS I engine bro

Like the review a lot. Can you please make a review of new duke 250.

Hows the pillion seat comfort for ladies, especially for those sitting one sided..if not this, which bike in this segment provides the best pillion comfort..TIA
Its spacious but do note that there is no factory fitted side mounted footrest for one sided sitting.
If required you can get aftermarket footrest attached to the saree guard.
I did something similar on my motorcycle: ruclips.net/video/lU2ybOVYoHo/видео.htmlfeature=shared
As pulsar n160 has split seat, it is not so comfortable for ladies in saree seating in one side.. if you want comfortable seats for family, go for rtr 160 4v. it has single seat which is also comfortable for long rides.. and single are always comfortable for pillion in saree as compared to split seat bikes in my opinion.
Apache rtr 160 4v with dual channel abs, single seat and 17.5 ps power is an overall allrounder. Now Bajaj must launch n 160 with single seat or 4v model of n 160 if they want to attract more customers in this segment who prefer family oriented bike.
Sir please lab test the Bosch 75W90 Glide Synth Gear oil it's the only well known semi synthetic gear oil which comes with both 75W90 and GL4, we don't have any product data sheet for it it'll be so helpful for us if you review it.
Also please review the Pro Honda scooter oil for bs6 scooters.
But Apache is Apache Bhai..Best for long ride tour, better for continuous cruising speed with stress less engine. 4 valve always better.

Count down starts .. to hear the news discontinued..
First sir love you ❤️❤️
Thank you so much Abhi ❤
The kind of review i was looking for👌❤️. Can you also do a review for N150 please.
I had a really short spin on the N150 still I will personally pick the N160 for its all round performance.
Great review 👌🙌
Thanks a lot Ayushman 🙏
Dada, I've ridden this and the N250 and both were disappointing specially from the suspension perspective. Maybe these ride well when ridden slower and not aggressively.
I am not sure if your friend has ridden the stubby exhaust 160 4V, hugely different from the Old bs6 models.
Yes, as mentioned in the video I think the RTR still has got the best suspension setup in the segment.
Sir video have some rendering issue.
Previously i owned a pulsar 150 ug3, ns 200, rs 200, Apache RTR 1604v which I recently sold for Ather 450x , bu3.5 year old bs6 model later i realised that Ather 450x is not a daily commute for 80 km . Then I deceived you to buy a new bike where apparently I went to look out for the Apache RTR the pricing is a bit upward after i went to look out n160 a 2023 model which looks value for money usable features and safety nitted dual channel abs immediately i purchased one
How was the Bike?
@aakasharya7668 Good performance don't expect like Apache 160 but ok, returns 50kmpl even in city, Bajaj really done miracle in engine refinement, most refined engine in Bajaj lot
Which is better, Pulsar N160 or N150 ....??
My personal pick will be the N160.
Thank you Bhai....
A well designed bike except for that exposed ugly looking rear swingarm. The N250 looks better but is no more available in any other colour other than black unlike when it was launched. But I'm sure they'll be back given how horribly inconsistent Bajaj is with continuing and discontinuing models...
Eurogrip tyres are good
This or the hornet 2.0 ? Anyone??
Hi,
Here is my experience with Hornet 2.0: ruclips.net/video/2NI8Vy1IZGw/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Pulsar n160 anyday.
Bro how is your dad i hope he is fine
Do review the n250
Yes, After riding the N160 I really want to experience the N250.
For someone updated from a 110 cc bike ( mahindra centuro) ,this one was a bit heavy, once tried to fall down due to very strong wind and slight inclination on the road. But the brakes are so good, engine is refined ,suspension will get good over use,and i made the suspension one step softer ,so it is now comfortable.my issue is the driving position( which is same for rtr 160 as well). My height is 160cc ,and my hands are not that long,so i lean a bit to the front, but the problem is my palm will get red and impressed with handle bar design.also my balls will get pressed if i move a bit to the front. But this can be solved with a raiser, again,i have disk prolapse issue,so the riding posture is good for my back, but not for my hands😅
Look no further. Tvs xl 100 is the answer to your complicated problem😂
Bhai ap to watchgyan Hindi ho
i think pulsar need 6th gear from 160cc segment
Only if it had the clip-ons

Thank you so much 🙏
