    Great adition to your collection.
    You should get your 5212A soon, I was offered mine 6 months after getting the 6119R. I had the opportunity to choose between both the white gold and the rose, the rose was the winner for me.
    Enjoy in good health.

      I hope you’re right. I’m awaiting the call for a 5212A or 5226G. I have no way of knowing when, or if I will be offered one. I suppose if I wait long enough, eventually it will come in.

    For the 6119, I definitely prefer the white gold variant. However, my favorite Calatrava presently offered is the 5227J, which is an unadorned yellow gold case with ivory dial, date display and brown strap.

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад +1

    Congratulations my man. Patek is where it's at. Govberg are not going to lose their Patek agency. Thierry Stern opened their dedicated Miami Patek boutique.
    You'll get a 5212A within a year. Availability is much better. Looking forward to seeing where your Patek journey takes you. I politely suggest sticking with one AD and building your purchase history with them. Forget about the Princeton AD.

    • @sc1

      I'm sure a 5212A or 5226G will eventually come if I am patient, but I cannot be certain when.
      I am wondering if the AP Royal Oak is still worth the pursuit.

    • @Thierrystern
      @Thierrystern Год назад +2

      @sc1 AP are the kings of messing people around. If you only want a Royal Oak just go grey and avoid the AD games.
      Both those Pateks are doable within 12 months. There is a snowball effect with Patek - buy more, get offered more etc. Until you're broke!

      That means a lot coming from you. I think it will look better once I get a smaller leather strap and it gets broken in to conform to my wrist. It should sit flatter on the wrist then. Oh hell yeah.
    I think my favorite Calatrava is the 5196 (I'd take any of them - white gold, yellow or rose gold, but probably the yellow would be my 1st pick) but I'm recently warming up to the 5119 (and/or the 5120) with the hobnail. It seems like the 6119 is a combination of the two (5196 and the 5119)... I do wish it were 36-37mm though. 39mm is large for a dress watch. I have the same size wrists.

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад +1

      The hobnail is a positive. Quintessential Patek.
      Same here, I would prefer the 6119G to be 36-38mm. But I will sacrifice the size for a brand new watch, with a brand new movement.

    • @joeschlicht
      @joeschlicht Год назад +1

      @@sc1 Indeed. I thought my first Patek would be the 5196, but I'm seriously thinking about the 5119 or the 5120 instead (not happening soon though). Such a classic look, but so is the 5196, though some might find the 5196 a bit boring. I like boring though. As mentioned, I think the 6119 is the best of both worlds, but just a touch large (this upsizing in the watch industry- Rolex - is frustrating for my small wrists!) I've never tried one on though. so I'll reserve judgement. From your videos, I would guess that it would wear too large for my tastes. But it is a beautiful watch, no doubt. I hope you post more videos of it.

    Yes! Delightful! And you posted before Friday. 😊 Now I’m starting to think that Patek suits you and your style so much more than Rolex. I mean, really, what a finely crafted watch. Are you interested in Vacheron at all? Their thin gold watches could be nice additions. Anyhow, well done!

      I felt the pressure was on from you, so I put the video out early 🥴.
      I now belatedly realize what you meant about having enough experience with Rolex. Patek is on a completely higher level.
      I don't even know if there is Vacheron boutique anywhere near me, but a yellow gold would look nice.
      I'm still fascinated with the steel AP bracelet. I hope you caught my NYC video where I visited the AP House. She was nice, but grilled me about why I was asking for an AP. I don't have much hope of getting a Royal Oak. I'm going to send you a gmail about something else. I need your opinion.

    very interesting about the AR. i have been thinking about dropping my collection down from 12 to 5 watches and this 6119 is one that I am considering for an everyday watch. Your live use clips that show reflections is something I had not considered. There is nowhere close to me where I can view this watch so your video was helpful. Please consider uploading youtube shorts of this watch out and about showing the reflections outside and in various conditions. I just subscribed to your videos and am hoping to see updateson this piece.... its a beautiful piece and I hope you wear it in good health.

    I love your taste in watches and clothing. Thank you for making these videos and thank you for your military service. I have a very similar wrist size to you and the 36mm Rolex is my favorite fit although I do own larger watches. The Patek 6119 is a beautiful watch and I love the manual movement but it does wear larger than 39mm on you, and larger than the other Patek. I was looking at this watch as it can be found pre-owned full set from reputable sellers at quite a bit under retail. But I prefer a smaller and more discrete look for a dress watch and this one would likely look like a dinner plate on my wrist.

    lol I replayed this vid 2x already 👌🏽, what a perfect Patek combo. Actually the clarity of your videos display the watch almost like if it was in person, and clearly demonstrates the characteristics of white gold vs stainless steel, and to be honest I think all your Pateks should be in white gold or platinum 🔥, it’s a subtle class flex. The perfect 3rd piece maybe should be the white gold WorldTime 5231G, it’s classic and iconic with the globe colors supplements the other Pateks perfectly, Then sell some of the Rolex and you’re done.

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад +1

      i was looking at the pictures. 5231 is beautiful, and great size, but too much to spend on one watch right now. maybe someday…
      white gold is perfect to keep it low-key, but still have that luster up-close, and to feel the extra heft on the wrist. I think the Calatrava would be too light if it were steel. the gold balances it out.

    • @frankv7068
      @frankv7068 Год назад

      @@sc1 Tell you the truth 😤 for that $91k Worldtime I’d get rid of all big size Rolex in your case, the two Sky-dwellers (since you have a blue dial DJ and a gold DD to compensate and not repeat the same dials n metal) the Explorer Polar and the Sea Dweller put that money on Patek and be done with buying watches for a while.

  • @Uncle2002
    @Uncle2002 Год назад +2

    Huge congrats, mate! It's an amazing watch. It's funny you mentioned it wears large - I thought the same thing the two times I've tried it on. After you've had it for a few months, please do a comparison video against the 5205G. That's my dream watch and planning for my 45th in two years.

    • @Uncle2002
      @Uncle2002 Год назад +1

      PS. I do prefer the WG with that grey dial and vertical brushing.

    • @sc1
      @sc1  Год назад +2

      Right now, I think the 5205G is still the superior watch: the Annual Calendar Complication, the complex Blue color dial, Sector dial design, symmetric windows, beautiful Moonphase illustration, concave bezel, scooped out case sides, hollow see-through lugs, self-winding movement. So much more intricate and difficult to construct.
      But it is slightly "sporty" and the Calatrava 6119G is more of a true dress watch. Very thin case and minimalist "Bauhaus" dial design. And the Calatrava is just classic Patek.

    • @Uncle2002
      @Uncle2002 Год назад +1

      @@sc1 That's super helpful. I've personally solved for the formal dress watch through Lange so am drawn to the unconventional case of the 5205 - and I agree, it's bigger proportions work especially with how the lugs hug the wrist. Plus an annual calendar is just too cool, at least until I decide a full QP is needed down the line 🤣

I declined to do so as I do not want to submit interest with out being 100% committed like I was for my Rolex GMT BLNR. Like you, my AD also lost their account with Patek so I am being picky with who I go with next. Will buying other watch brands within the same AD help you in getting other Pateks? Excellent collection. Just one little piece of advice/info for you, if you allow me: the right way to pronounce the name of the brand is Patek with accent/emphasis on the a, not on the e. Something like Paatek! The reason is that is a Slavic surname. I appreciate almost everyone gets it wrong, but if you don’t trust me just watch any interview with Mr Stern (Patek’s owner), and check how he pronounces it.

    • @sc1

      You are correct, and I realized it after I made the video. I corrected myself on my latest video: ruclips.net/video/DrFAvtXKwl4/видео.html

    Just saw this- someone paired the tan strap from the 5226 with 6119G. Have that short strap version, might be a nice way to make it a bit sportier than the alligator: ruclips.net/video/khOplVyfNOE/видео.htmlsi=8MqTubt4qq20dzYQ
