You should play Inertial Drift on PC! It uses both analog sticks to drift. The left controls your tires, and the right controls your car's angle. It's fast, stylish and fun. Boring story, but the gameplay carries. It's prime Racing Marathon material. Thanks for the incredible content!!
I bought Grid Legends about a month ago and have been playing it nonstop. My first game after buying a racing wheel was GRID 2, so this game provides a lot of the nostalgia but with modern comforts that GRID 2 lacked.
doesn't the rotation is astonishingly weird making it horrible on a wheel? Never managed to play it on one, but by Dirt games which feature a similar engine (due to the rotation pivot point being on the center of the car and not the rear wheels) it's just weird AF when you have ever played a better simcade or even a sim.
This game for some reason didn't get enough marketing push from EA? I mean it was released 2-3 weeks before GT7, but I'm sure this game could get more attention if they did that
I played Grid Legends at the beginning of this year and it was a breath of fresh air compared to the likes of Forza Horizon or NFS Unbound. It really makes me crave for more close track simcades like these (the Project Gotham Racing series also being an honorable mention) As far as the story goes,Rise of Ravenwest is my personal favorite one. It's a nice throwback to the OG Toca Race Driver and Grid games and I'm a sucker for stuff like this. Definitely deserves more love
Played the game earlier this year when it was free on PS Plus. Played it for little over a week and got the platinum trophy. It was really fun, more than i expected going into it
This game really is the true successor to the TOCA Race Driver series, even more than the first GRID in my opinion. The amount of variety in cars is amazing
one of the best single player racer experiences in a long time. especially with a wheel. overtaking through the grid feels a lot more rewarding than most games
I heavily disagree with Autosport being so bad, I would put that just below Race Driver: Grid The things that are letting me down with Grid Legends is the track list and the lack of practice and qualifying (What I loved about Autosport). On the tracks, while there are some iconic tracks like Bathurst, Sepang, Suzuka, Indy and Brands Hatch, it's lacking great ones from previous games like Spa, Algarve, CotA, Istanbul and Mont-Tremblant. Also missing Washington as one of the street tracks. For the practice and qualifying, specially in events with multiple races, I hate how the starting grid for the following races is the reverse standings and the random starting position and difficulty spike for the Fully Upgraded events. Another complaint, somehow the AI has way better straightline speed, I feel like it's something about the shifting in sequential
With 12 or 16 cars on the grid like typical grid order for Street competition & cup events in GRID Autosport, getting to first from last is still doable in a couple of laps, but 22? I doubt it.
I got this game on launch and i still play it. Whats crazy is my first grid game was 2019 and i liked it, but when i played legends i absolutely loved it. This game seriously needs more attention, but since it came out on the same day as Elden Ring there was no way it was getting more attention than a from soft game unfortunately.
Personally, I really love this game and for me after Grid 1 and Grid 2, this one is my favourite. The variety in the car list is something I really appreciate and is a throwback to the Toca RaceDriver series, it's really fun and the driving model has its inconsistencies, it's well designed. It's a shame that EA gave this game no marketing and left it out to dry in a very bad release date, I prefer this over NFS Unbound .
I feel like this game was a lost opportunity. The handling has this weird understeer if you don't force the cars into turns, the UI looks and feels pretty bad, the actual career mode is still worse than the first and second games, and so on. The ability to join races in progress in online is nice but that is not enough to make this game better than Autosport and older. They really forgot the recipe for a fun arcade track racer, Autosport was insanely good online with the car balance and safety ratings and GRID 1 had the best career of an arcade track racer too. All they had to do was put those two together.
@@K3ntucky123 I personally think the grip levels are fine for an arcade racer, but to make use of that grip you must drive in a really awkward way, forcing the car into turns or tapping the handbrake in some cars. Grids before 2019 didn't have this issue, and Autosport actually rewarded a clean driving line. Shame no one liked it because of the awful career.
It's my first time playing this kind of games beside the very old TOCA race driver 2, but i didn't experience any understeer. In fact, i get tons of oversteer and that's a good thing. The mechanic where you dump out the rear of the car to powerslide through a corner so you can be fast both on entry and in the middle of the corner is so satisfying, added that while doing that there's a chance to spin out your car so managing a spin is still a must thing. Especially on road cars like the mustang or old muscle cars it's just so fun to correct the oversteer-y nature of the car. The slide are also apparent on high downforce car but throughout the corner the downforce will do most of the work. I don't know what settings that i changed, since i only select expert mode on the start of the game and that's it. My experience of racing games is either need for speed or sim racing since i often join local events/competition or just a casual community race.
@@alieffauzanrizky7202 I feel like GRID Autosport replicates oversteer and managing the car at the limit better than Legends. To me, Legends feels like you must force the car into the turn, just turn as much as possible at the right time as you enter the turn and the car will go around it fine if you keep holding the steering, miss that window or do any small correction and the car becomes really stuborn mid turn. Autosport on the other hand allows, and sometimes needs, you to be smoother with initial turn in to not upset the car too much, mid turn the car is also happy to rotate more and initiate a slide at any time if you steer harder as long as the front wheels aren't running out of grip. GRID Legends is an alright game, but driving wise Autosport is way more engaging (in my opinion) and the story mode doesn't reward good driving nor does it work as a replacement for the brilliant career modes of GRID 2 and 1. Sadly Autosport, 2 and 1 are delisted and Steam keys are not cheap.
09:08 Project Cars 3 has a lot cool tracks like end to end like in Driveclub. I also like the whole range of older to newer race cars. The bad thing about PC3 is in the career mode. You get only credits with each tier when leveling up your driver level. You can only level up fulfilling objectives at each event. Which sometimes can be fun but sometimes it doesn't even matter if you win the race or not. There are events that require a specific car but only for that event. Which means you have to grind and meet every objective again multiple times to get enough credits. Why not win races and get credits and save up for the car? The worst of all, once you choose to do a specific event or race, you're locked in. If you need to buy certain parts to optimise your car, or meet class requirements, or want to change the configuration of the parts you already have, you must get out of the event, buy or change the parts, and go through the loading screen again to get to the event. Very annoying. If I have the parts already, why can't I change them directly in the tuning section? Project Cars 3 has some good and some bad parts. I like how it tries to be a sequel to Shift 2 Unleashed because I liked Shift2. I'm sorry for the og project cars fans.
GRID2 was heavily critisized from players who expected Race Driver handling, while GRID2 was more arcady. That's why GRID Autosport was literally an apologize to fanbase - here, take your realistic hadling. And it had A LOT of content. I like both of them and replay from time to time.
I did a 1 year anniversary race on this game on the Grid Legends Release Day (February 25th) once. It was a 25-lap multi-class race at Crescent Valley on a stormy night, featuring a Beltra Enduro 24 T, a Jupiter Formula X, a BMW M1 Turbo Group 5, a Ford GT40, and a Lotus Elise GT1. It was the best race I have ever done. But on the 2 year anniversary race, it should be as follows; A 99-lap Multi-Class race at Strada Alpina Circuito Stradale on a Stormy Night, with the same featured cars from the 1 year anniversary race, and this will be the longest possible race on this game. These races were done on the Race Creator. Anyway, raise your hand if you still play Grid Legends like I do!
9:30 man I’d actually love that but every category would have one type of car for every category, imagine it like putting everyone into F2 cars, then a car which is like the M1 Pro Car was back in the days
Got it from ps plus, super fun game I played through the whole game on max difficulty on wheel with a few exceptions because some missions are practically impossible specifically the multiclass events (Wrote this before kuru brought it up in the vid but he said it perfectly as well)

More racing games need to implement this. Sadly I bet sales didnt do so well, I find this game much more fun than forza horizon 5...
9:15 One of the main reason I'm not a fan of Sim racers. There's only so much you could do with real courses till it gets monotonous. Fantasy courses always had the visual flare and are usually more fun to drive by comparison.
don't get me wrong, this is still a great game, from what i have seen it shares many aspects with the original racedriver grid; including some of it's negative aspects.... mostly related to the opponents screwing you over in many different ways
Well its a GAME!!!!!!! I have several of these type of racing games and they are just for my entertainment, period. I don't expect much from these games and this one is fun to do some races. I select a car, a track, and go race. I also have a way to use VR with the game, so that makes it nicer to view from the driver cockpit view. Plus I got the STEAM game for my PC on sale price. Race Driver GRID: Sets a really high standard. Perfect balance of SimCade, leaning a bit more towards arcade to make it fun. Grid 2: Should not have been called a Grid game. Great game on its own, but didn't live up to the original's expectations. Also has downgrades in cockpit view and teambuilding/career. Grid: Autosport: Attempt to fix the error of Grid 2, but pushing it way too hard into the Sim realm making it boring. Grid 2019: Finally fixed it, but completely killed the career aspect of it, making the game quite basic/bland. Good gameplay - but only as a pasttime. Grid Legends: Tried to fix the blandness, but at this point - people already forgot about it. Edit: Oh yeah, and each new installment downgraded the damage and crash physics, sadly.
Thanks for this summary. I _loved_ RD:GRID and was disappointed in GRID2 and Autosport (for the reasons you mentioned and more), gave up afterwards. So I guess I just continue playing the first GRID (and DIRT2, same story).
I feel like if the multiplayer wasn’t dead, the content would feel a lot more alive. The ai are really boring to race against since they’re too easy or unfair. I personally didn’t enjoy the game because I didn’t find the driving model or races interesting. The tracks were really good, but I couldn’t enjoy driving on them. The process of getting into online races, which fixes the problem of ai, is frustrating and I feel highlights the problem with not having a proper matchmaking system. Plus, barely anybody plays so… I’m glad I got it for free on ps plus, because if I spent money on this game I would have regretted it a lot.
This doesn't make any sense. Sure it uses the same engine and track layouts were from the previous titles but it's not the same at all. Grid 1 and 2 had so much going on. In regards to physics, presentation, the overall structure that set the mark the first game did. Which they essentially lost by time.
Game was completely overshadowed by Gran Turismo and Elden Ring. Genuinely upset by that considering how good it is. ..almost forgot, sadly owned by EA nowadays so we could probably just expect nothing more from the franchise.
Was interested in the game but copyright protection is still up and there is no mod support at all :) It looks OK but the interaction with the AI and progression is bad.
I have a love/hate relation with this game. It's solid but a wasted potential at the same time. I Appreciate the bold move of bringing a story, improving the glaring issues from 2019 even bringing back names from the classic games however I just simply can't avoid myself of thinking "this is just GRID 2019 with a story mode" The toned down physics, odd collisions, unbalanced difficulty and the absolute shore the career mode that was really shows how Codemasters lost their touch of making a proper racing game. I was so crazed that I've had many thoughts and ideas that they could improve and make its foundation more richer but I'm just an average joe so if will never come to fruition. Certainly we'll never see a new GRID game in the future. If they somewhat bring the series back one day they should completely forget they did a reboot and forget the collective delirium that was Autosport and make a GRID 3.
Imo the handling was way too grippy and they removed qualifying which stunk. I also didn't like the story mode. I would've preferred a better campaign over it. Decent game for $10-20 though.
The chase cam for this game and GT7 is so awkward lol why is it so stiff… there cars don’t look like they’re moving naturally with these weird fixed camera angles
The progression is clear calculated bs so you are almost forced to buy the mechanic buff dlc for like 5 dollars so that you get the tier 2 upgrades in one go. The game should have been called Gri(n)d
I really don't understand. Grid 1 remain the reference and it's sickening. Best audio, music, ambiance. Great 3d menu. Even the rankings are in 3D. The lighting in grid 1 is is amazing, it looks flat in Legends and autosport. Can't they freaking just the recipe from grid 1 already. Come on. Grid Legends feels like you get some few things extra, but they a few more things back. Not worth the hassle
i didn't like the story because they reboot nathan like a big asshole previously he was juste having fun and got interest of us because we become famous
This game is terrible, if you actually play often you can do the exact same thing and get different results, it is terrible. The ai is terrible. This game is barely even worth a free download
I know you Kuru but I don't follow that much your Twitch journey so I am actually baffled about the fact we just started to re-play Grid Legends again these days. AYEEE !

9:41 Massive Skill Issue
If you touch the AI cars you stick to them and they also get collision priority.
So it's a Codemasters game, then?
I like this game
I played it for like a good 8 hours straight when I installed it
The biggest problem with the game is that it is still the same GRID from 2008, they really just printed same game every time, even on the same engine.
This doesn't make any sense. Sure it uses the same engine and track layouts were from the previous titles but it's not the same at all. Grid 1 and 2 had so much going on. In regards to physics, presentation, the overall structure that set the mark the first game did. Which they essentially lost by time.
I’d agree more if it didn’t corrupt my save file
It's a good game, but it's racing to arcade, like easy to 100% trophies 🏆
Game was completely overshadowed by Gran Turismo and Elden Ring. Genuinely upset by that considering how good it is.
..almost forgot, sadly owned by EA nowadays so we could probably just expect nothing more from the franchise.
Then new update f***d up my g920. anyone else get this?
Was interested in the game but copyright protection is still up and there is no mod support at all :) It looks OK but the interaction with the AI and progression is bad.
I have a love/hate relation with this game. It's solid but a wasted potential at the same time. I Appreciate the bold move of bringing a story, improving the glaring issues from 2019 even bringing back names from the classic games however I just simply can't avoid myself of thinking "this is just GRID 2019 with a story mode"
The toned down physics, odd collisions, unbalanced difficulty and the absolute shore the career mode that was really shows how Codemasters lost their touch of making a proper racing game.
I love this game- but I don't care about the story.
Still playing it, story is boring, drift sucks a lot, no damage for the most of the time, but it is cool game.
Im loving the racing, its just the story is so bad and makes me cringe. They should handled the story differently.
Just finished it but went back to Autosprort, it's way better. The 2008 Race Driver Grid is also better.
Doesnt even come close to race drive:grid
Grid legend is great, the marketing suck.
Grid: Waminism
I really don't understand. Grid 1 remain the reference and it's sickening.
Best audio, music, ambiance. Great 3d menu. Even the rankings are in 3D. The lighting in grid 1 is is amazing, it looks flat in Legends and autosport.
Can't they freaking just the recipe from grid 1 already. Come on. Grid Legends feels like you get some few things extra, but they a few more things back. Not worth the hassle
RUclipsrs probably won't get paid to promote this game. So youtubers say it's shit. Nothing to do with reality 😂
Fun game but shit damage modeling.
i didn't like the story because they reboot nathan like a big asshole previously he was juste having fun and got interest of us because we become famous
i liked playing the story but after that the game sucks
Made the platinum on this one. What a boring grind, still a fun game to play, I wished the AI was better though.
This game is terrible, if you actually play often you can do the exact same thing and get different results, it is terrible. The ai is terrible. This game is barely even worth a free download
Everything with the ai and their cars in this game is so bad imo.
THE WORST GRID EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loathe the driving in these games. Unplayable
Nope still don't care about this mid game
Yet you clicked on the video
So much that you clicked plus commented
I know you Kuru but I don't follow that much your Twitch journey so I am actually baffled about the fact we just started to re-play Grid Legends again these days.
AYEEE !
A really great game with a lot of potential but which unfortunately is not pushed by the developers... 🫤🥲
Fortunately, the dynamic events and multiplayer are there. Sometimes attended some really awesome and competitive races.🔥👌
