Hated this movie, expected more. This movie feels the need to put men down in order to boost women. There’s a different between equality & supremacy. They tried to preach equality but just ended up doing the opposite because this movie thinks that the only way women can have power is if they take power from all the men.
the idea that barbie would much rather feel sadness, pain, insecurity, humiliation, or fear than continue to be a doll and feel nothing genuinely makes me reflect as a person who feels everything very deeply and hates it.

Greta confirmed that those video clips playing during the Billie Eilish song were real home videos from the cast and crew. I bawled my eyes out in the theater during that part and during Gloria's speech about how hard being a woman is (so relatable!!). I also laughed my head off during "I'm Just Ken" and "Push" (Matchbox 20 has been a fav of mine since the late 90s!)! Watching Rob and Bryce get into the music was just awesome. Btw, Rob, you have a great singing voice!

the girls I was with were the loudest people in our theater. - Surprise - women in their 30's laughed more than a dude in his 40's. when it started with the 2001 opening, I turned to one and said "already worth the price of admission"
I love how Zuff was like "is she still plastic down there" and then a few seconds later his question was answered and he's like "what's that?" lmaooooo. I'm with you Rob, I cried both times I saw this in theaters. It's still one of my favorite releases this year. I need the costume and production design team to win.

I’ve got to give you guys a LOT of credit. A LOT. I can’t tell you how many Barbie reactions I’ve watched. EVERY reaction with any guys in the group (guys I’ve always liked and respected) there was this weird tense reaction to some of the feminist stuff. I was completely surprised. Like, every time the mom gives the “it’s hard to be a woman” speech, they’d react so…..uncomfortable. They keep responding with this commentary about how that speech applies to everyone, that men go through that too, etc etc. They just couldn’t leave it alone or be supportive without including themselves. I’m not kidding. Every reaction. Also It felt like they couldn’t laugh at all the jokes? That it’s IMPOSSIBLE to laugh at any joke at the expense of men or male stereotypes? I was so disappointed. I’m a woman. Do you know how many movies make jokes about female stereotypes? Small things, like legally blonde saying women get manicures for comfort. Or all the movies that declare women like shopping like it’s a religion. Do you think that’s not an exaggeration? That it only applies to a percentage of women? That men like shopping too? What would happen if women got annoyed and insulted every time? We don’t. We laugh. We know it’s just a joke. But these Barbie reactions have me expecting a lot less of people now. So I’m not kidding, THANK YOU. For just laughing and not taking everything personally. For hearing that heartfelt speech and saying “go off!” And just stopping there. You guys just restored some of my faith. 🙏👍😅😅😅
I had a similar experience with some male reactors who surprised me with the amount of defensiveness it triggered in them. I did read in a comment section on one that someone who also observed this noted how men over a certain age were more triggered by this movie than younger ones, since the older ones were raised in a time where it was more prevalent for men to identify with the patriarchy. Younger men were raised to see the patriarchy as a thing separate from themselves, allowing them the distance to enjoy the humor and social observations. Makes sense.
Why do you feel upset that some reactors thought that the speech applied to everyone, not just women? It's true. They are allowed to have that opinion. Also the speech is way too dramatic.
Zuff killed me at the end questioning what a gynecologist is.🤣 You guys are awesome, I absolutely loved this reaction. Love ya guys, always know you're Kenough!💞
Her husband is Tom Ackerley, a film producer. Barbie almost laughs with Ken says "sublime" because on every take he would say something different and Greta, director, chose "sublime".
cool fact. film theory did a theory on how you get to barbie land. and all the stops we see, to get there, are real places fairly close to each other in california. so you can actually get to barbie land which is in mexico. the actual barbie factory. ???? that's so cool
This was such a fun but also surprisingly emotional watch when I first saw it in cinemas it’s also been great to see greta gerwig grow as a director having watched all her films from the beginning
Kinda sad that Zuff didn't get the movie at all. To me, it's about how society puts pressure on men and women to behave a certain way. I'd rewatch the scene where Gloria talks about how women are supposed to be. For men, they are supposed to be large and in charge. Masculine, never showing weakness or emotions. All of these concepts are harmful. The idea you should be one way based on your gender is ridiculous and unattainable. It also shows that how things were in the beginning isn't good. Barbies in charge and Kens an accessory or an afterthought. Patriarchy isn't the solution though. There needs to be balance.
Went to see it with one of my friends, I adored it, and she didn't really like it at all. 🤷🏼♀️ (because she didn't get it) On the other hand she liked the latest Avatar, and they are not my cup of tea. Each for their own.
Ken is a 10, but Ryan is at least a 20 and I don't mean just his looks, he is a great father, son, family man, actor and humanitarian. And extremely funny.
her saying “us mothers stand still so our daughters can look back to see how far they’ve gotten” hit SO hard. i just really appreciate you guys always being so open minded & knowing this isn’t a movie for JUST women, this is a movie for men too.
This movie fully shocked me, I had No expectations going in and I LOVED IT. I always hated Barbie as a kid, but something about seeing this movie with my best friend and a theatre full of women made me feel so much. That montage def made me tear up as well.
Seeing this with a theater full of women sounds like a wonderful experience! I live in a conservative small town right now, so I chose to watch it at home. I had to keep pausing it because I couldn't stop laughing. Then it hit me in the feels at the end. I've never left a movie feeling seen. Knowing that others feel the same way is beautiful and reassuring. Makes choosing the imperfections and pain of the Birkenstock life feel a little safer when things get scary or hard. Cheers, human!
Anyone else notice how "boy's night" still includes all the Barbies, while "girl's night" doesn't include any Kens? The Kens literally cannot do anything without Barbies, not even enjoy their own company lol.
When I got out of the cinema I wanted to buy one as well but then I saw the price and that the official one is made out of plastic so no thanks lol like they could've at least used proper materials
Sad that it won't be a first time reaction from Rob and Bryce.... but I also understand how you couldn't have waited with this one. Sometimes you just gotta go enjoy a movie like the regular folk in the theater, instead of waiting to do it on your channel.
one of the best movies of the year. talking about it already gives me barbenheimer nostalgia lol but seeing this in cinemas was crazy i loved it! made me tear up too 😢
I thought I’d love seeing your reaction to this but it was actually somehow even better than I thought it would be. You guys are so great! 😊 you give me such a lift after some of my hardest days at work, thank you! ♥️
The Barbie set was at Warner Bros in Leavesden in England. I hope they kept the set so it can be displayed like they did with the Harry Potter exhibition.
While this is a great commentary on the unrealistic standards that society sets for women, i really appreciate the more quiet commentary on the standards that are set for men as well. Great movie! ❤ i legit rock out to the Ken Song in my car on a regular basis
I highly recommend getting the Blu-ray. The special features are amazing. Depression Barbie watching the BBC Pride and Prejudice had me howling, because that's been my comfort media for decades. I love how this movie showed that patriarchy hurts men too. Society has taught men that it isn't okay to express vulnerability, and men are to gauge their value on messed up things. Ken represses his need to cry and express how he feels, as patriarchy has told him it's not okay to do so. He's also judging his self-worth based on his material possessions, his girlfriend, and how other men perceive him. The movie really tells men who watch it not to listen to those garbage expectations anymore than the women should bend to the garbage expectations society has for them.
Barbie just chooses to be and exist as human. Becoming more in theory, something people already are, but forget or dissociate from due to ... established patriarchal & gender structures. Overall telling us all to just be the humans we are, instead of all these restricting roles & constructs that don't generally benfit us anyway. Best Barbie reaction, hands down. I've seen a few, and as another commenter said, it's like a breath of fresh air to experience reactions without gender biases. Wouldn't expect anything less from this channel, that perpetually sparks hope for the health of the next generation(s). ✨😊✨
The montage of women at the end had me and my bestie crying. This movie hit so hard. Not to give brownie points bc I know it should be the bare minimum, but it makes me happy when men get the movie (to the extent that they can). Several guys got up and left during the showing I went to. So many people think this movie is anti man or women>man, but the message is quite literally just “nobody should feel that their life is made meaningful by conforming to societal expectations of success or the way others perceive them: your life is meaningful because you give it meaning, you live it, and you put yourself into it.”
This is one of those movies that I didn’t think I’d enjoy when I first watched it but it’s become one of my favourite films. Looking forward to seeing Zuffs reaction 😁
Loved your guys' enthusiasm throughout this! So many emotions. I was also on the verge of tears during the scene with all the old home videos of young girls Just that... feeling of a shared experience and a childhood now passed I can't explain it, it just made me feel emotional and the fact that she chose human imperfection and death, over basically perfect apathy Also America Ferrera's speech about being a woman just hit so hard I also love that the ending was Barbie empowering Ken to find himself - not to be a "man" or below her or above her, but to be himself. And that Barbie also went to find herself, out in the human world. It also spoke to that middle school/preteen/teen shame that many of us had growing up which was that barbies were no longer cool or were 'too girly" or too childish - but dolls (all kinds, not just barbies) are for everyone, even if you don't continue playing with them past childhood, they still _mean_ something to you
I haven't watched a lot of your videos, but this reaction is giving lots of green flags for you guys. Watching this movie in theaters with the girls and the gays was SO MUCH FUN, definitely worth multiple rewatchs.
just came home from a very stressful day at work, got some pizza to cheer me up but wasnt sure what id watch while eating it. im so happy this has been posted. thank u sm. omg
I went to see this three times in theaters and I've literally never went back to a theater for repeat viewings of a movie before. The first time, I took my 90 year old grandma and we got to talk about the evolution of women's rights through her life. Plus, my grandma had a bin of Barbies that we'd play with and I recognized some of the clothing in the movie (like the dress/hair piece she wore at her house party). The second time, I went with my aunt and we talked about the experience of modern teens/young women (my cousins are 16 and 18). The third time, I went with my parents and I got to talk about feminism and the challenges of being a woman with my father which we've never done before. I saw it a fourth time as soon as it came out to purchase with my other grandparents. My 87 year old grandma has become a vocal feminist in her old age (she grew up in a "seen not heard" traditional/strict house) and it was incredible to have those conversations with her and hear about her own journey and struggles. I laughed and sobbed in all viewings. The energy in the theater every time was so special. So many people wore pink and/or dressed up very 90s/early 00s (when they played with Barbie). It just felt electric and emotional and fun. It was akin to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter or Hunger Games. From the conversations I heard, plenty of people in the theaters were coming back for a repeat viewing. The dude next to me was talking with his friend and it was his fourth time! It was an amazing movie and it's so sad that Margo Robbie didn't get nominated for an oscar while Ryan Gosling did. I hope he wins though and I hope one of the TWO songs nominated wins. The chances of Barbie beating Oppenheimer for best picture are slim to none but that would be amazing, too. Loved the reaction!
I loved this movie- Barbie in live action, Ryan’s facial expressions were hilarious, and the music was incredible. And we even got a nod to the Bratz, small nod, but we got the Bratz. I think Sasha was just spitting out words she was learning in class and had yet to really understand. Calling Barbie a fascist was a touch much. Mocking Mattel though worth it. And we need a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants reaction. It is more a summer movie but still good to watch year round.
love your shirt! even though some of you have watched it before in the cinema, which is good, you guys give the best reaction for men watching this film. the understanding and everything I love the idea of portraying patriarchy through Barbir's land reversing to the real world where women have to face patriarchy in real life.
Barbies in my family are handed down through the generations. I say that to say, I had the pregnant Barbie and thought she was so cool! I also had a couple of dream houses and the RV shown on their way leaving Barbieland! By the time my family Barbie’s got to me there were over 30 years of Barbie’s in A LOT of totes lol
the only thing that bothers me is barbie being the one to apologize for his Weaponized incompetence. they wanted a house they should’ve asked. the girls made their boundaries clear from the beginning
So one of the Barbies is Scottish in real life and was in a show I would LOVE to see you react to (she’s called Sharon Rooney) and the show is called my mad fat diary, I watched it in uni. It’s so GOOD!

one of the best movies of the year. talking about it already gives me barbenheimer nostalgia lol but seeing this in cinemas was crazy i loved it! made me tear up too 😢
I thought I’d love seeing your reaction to this but it was actually somehow even better than I thought it would be. You guys are so great! 😊 you give me such a lift after some of my hardest days at work, thank you! ♥️
The Production Design and the Costumes omg I want everything they have. Also, I hope Barbie Land is an actual tourist attraction.
The Barbie set was at Warner Bros in Leavesden in England. I hope they kept the set so it can be displayed like they did with the Harry Potter exhibition.
i saw this movie 5 times in the theatre and i was waiting for this reaction man i love you guys
The dua lipa appreciation in this video is so valid
While this is a great commentary on the unrealistic standards that society sets for women, i really appreciate the more quiet commentary on the standards that are set for men as well. Great movie! ❤ i legit rock out to the Ken Song in my car on a regular basis
I was thinking I'm Just Ken would probably kill in karaoke.
42:05 Omg but wait Rob can sing??!
20:19 ah, i see rob is a man of culture 🤌
The guys of this channel are such GREEN flags. Most of your reactions are so wholesome (and fun of course).
I adore Rob so much.
This is one of those movies that I didn’t think I’d enjoy when I first watched it but it’s become one of my favourite films. Looking forward to seeing Zuffs reaction 😁
53:22 - I cry every-time, even watching it now- True Cinema
Loved your guys' enthusiasm throughout this! So many emotions.
I was also on the verge of tears during the scene with all the old home videos of young girls
Just that... feeling of a shared experience and a childhood now passed
I can't explain it, it just made me feel emotional
and the fact that she chose human imperfection and death, over basically perfect apathy
Also America Ferrera's speech about being a woman just hit so hard
I also love that the ending was Barbie empowering Ken to find himself - not to be a "man" or below her or above her, but to be himself.
53:57 that's because Billie didn't just write this for Barbie. She was writing about herself.
just came home from a very stressful day at work, got some pizza to cheer me up but wasnt sure what id watch while eating it. im so happy this has been posted. thank u sm. omg
Dude in the middle has a good singing voice.
You NEVER know what is going to come out of Zuffs mouth...and that's why he is wonderful 👍😊.
I love how much this film captures how hard it is to be a woman. Also loved this reaction x💙
Rob's voice is actually really nice!!
*waves at Reel Time boys in weird Barbie* 😁 we need a tour of the Reel Time mojo dojo casa house!
In one interview Gosling asked people to try to say "pretty, paisley, pilatso pants' 3 times fast witout messing up.
Not the palazzos!
Would love to see you guys react to The Fifth Element! Love all your reactions.
That is Rhea Perlman who is or was married to Danny DeVito, she was on "Cheers". The real Ruth Handler died in 2002, I think.
I think they know it’s not the real Ruth Handler lol they were probably questioning if Ruth handler being the creator of Barbie was a real fact
The first reactors to recognize the fleabag bus man! It’s such a small thing but nobody I know gets what the hell im talking about
15:17 rob said that EXACTLY like Kronk 😭
THE ACCURACY 😂
36:49 it is! That’s how I felt when I saw this movie, it was cool to see the Barbies I had that were discontinued 💖
I saw Barbie in a theatre and we had an amazing crowd!! Many ppl were wearing pink outfitd too :D
the 4 girls at school are Bratz "dolls" (they're Barbie concurrent dolls)
There's a behind-the-scenes video where Greta Gerwig is crying while laughing at Michael Cera screaming during the beach scene, and it's hilarious!
rob has a little ken in him cause the way he saaaang lmao
the intro of the movie was a reference of 2001 space odessy
I couldn’t tell if Rob and Bryce knew but just didn’t tell Zuff. 🤷♀️
I thought it was so clever to have the 4 teenage girls at the school represent the 4 main Bratz dolls
"One of the most beautiful women on the planet" took me out 😂
Yall have been dropping the best movie reactions lately. I'm excited to watch w you ❤️❤️
I loved this movie- Barbie in live action, Ryan’s facial expressions were hilarious, and the music was incredible.
It is more a summer movie but still good to watch year round.
love your shirt!
even though some of you have watched it before in the cinema, which is good, you guys give the best reaction for men watching this film. the understanding and everything
I love the idea of portraying patriarchy through Barbir's land reversing to the real world where women have to face patriarchy in real life.
You guys need to react to the performance of "I'm Just Ken" at the Oscars!!!
It gives me hope for our future if young people are so supportive of women like this. 0 toxic masculinity on this channel. 🌞
the only thing that bothers me is barbie being the one to apologize for his Weaponized incompetence. they wanted a house they should’ve asked. the girls made their boundaries clear from the beginning
You are kenough
I had the pregnant Midge doll growing up and I LOVED her so I was super excited to see her in the movie 😂😂
Ok but I see Zuff as the Assistant at Mattel Corp.
What a missed opp for Bryce to wear that Tank Top again 🥲
So one of the Barbies is Scottish in real life and was in a show I would LOVE to see you react to (she’s called Sharon Rooney) and the show is called my mad fat diary, I watched it in uni. It’s so GOOD!
i had already forgotten how amazing this move is, thanks for the reaction!! i loved ❤
36:49 is KILLLLIN me, zuff outing his own lie 🤣
To be fair, in the intro he said he played with Barbies as a child, not that he actually owned any.
its just funny. relax :)@@IndieCindy3
“I’m Allan, I’m Ken’s Buddy- All his clothes fit me…” “I don’t wanna touch their feet.” Both me. 😂
This movie is so awesome! Seen it in theaters. So many guys went and dressed up for it too it was amazing to see.
Nooooo... not the gynaecologist Zuffffff!?
