@@elsenorvananas Plan was to make it a short track. Surface has never been repaved since it was built in ‘97. I think they’re scared that a straight repave would make it some cursed mix of New Michigan and Kentucky until it ages again, so a total track change is probably the best bet.
I had a few family/church related things going on that day, so I missed the race. After everything was done (at about midnight) I jokingly said, "Can't wait to go home and see that Kyle Larson has already started his tyrannical reign of dominance." I had no idea I was right. They need to work on the tires a little , which they are wider and less sidewall could be part of the issue. Probably drivers just need more miles on them to keep from using them up. Tires will always be a bit of a issue but good racing today sooooo.

But changing the size "20 and width plus an inch and half I think I heard will almost certainly require some study and possibly need revision ? And don't forget the horsepower change.
I think the problem is actually the metal rub blocks underneath the car to maintain ride height. Once a tire goes flat, the car gets stuck because the blocks dig in.

Also give credit to the drivers for picking this package. NASCAR was set to be 510 hp and high downforce in the Charlotte tests and gave the drivers what they've been asking with much less downforce and more horsepower and we got this race. Kudos for NASCAR for listening to the drivers on this.
As much as I pull for Suarez and would love for him to win, I fear he may be another Matt Dibenedetto. No disrespect to Dibenedtto, he's a decent driver but just not quite Cup series caliber.
I used to watch F1 , every race and practice ,or qualifying and set up my days around that . Those days it has no glamour nor meaning anymore with all the Mercedes dominance and social justice going on . Glad I found NASCAR few years ago and it looks is getting better every season .
I like the chemistry between Matt Kenseth and Clint Bowyer in the booth. The contrast between Kenseths serious demeanor and Clints goofy demeanor makes it a good dynamic.

If there’s some way to keep the 2-mile layout and repave it without it looking like Michigan has, I think we’d all be for it. I walked the track with my pit-pass, and the pavement is all stones and sealer. It doesn’t have much longer without some major repaving.

I was rooting for Reddick and it sucked when he blew a tire. Then I was like wait a second the 43 might end up in victory lane. Daniel Suarez showed up towards the end and put up a good fight for the win. Was a great race! I must say it refreshing seeing the cars spin on their own. Really shows how hard it is to drive these cars and that the drivers are getting everything they can out of the car.
