Hey man, I’ve been watching RUclips for years and I’ve never commented on anything, but I just wanted to say thank you for the content you upload. This last year has sucked (b/c of the pandemic and plenty of other reasons), but watching your uploads and seeing the amazing natural sites you’ve visited has regularly boosted my spirits. National Parks have always been places of healing for me, so your videos have been like micro-doses of hope that have helped me get through tough times recently. Looking forward to traveling again and seeing more of these great places. God Bless you and your family! Maybe I’ll bump into you on the trail one day lol.
Hey Caleb, sounds like it would be an honor to meet you! Appreciate your kind words and heart! Comments like yours mean a lot to me. They really give the channel true value.
After a busy morning, I sat down to watch this video. I am now relaxed and at ease. You both captured the peace of the area and aptly passed on to us! Thank you and may you and your family have a happy and blessed Easter!
This part of the parkway had some of the most unique places to stop and see things like that really old store. We were so blessed with perfect weather. A very relaxing, enjoyable trip.
Another excellent entry to this series. Doing a great job of showing us the highlights, off the beaten path stops, and stressing the importance of taking your time on the journey. The Roanoke area is awesome. There are some fantastic sights just to the west of Roanoke. These being Cascade Falls and Virginia’s Triple Crown (McAfee Knob, Dragon’s Tooth, and Tinker Cliffs). They are all national sites, either in a National Forest or along the AT. I have done Dragon’s Tooth and Cascade Falls and both were great. This stretch of the BRP just has a different feel than the rest of the parkway. It is has less of the striking mountain scenery and more of the rural country vibe. This section in Virginia you covered is the only portion of the parkway that I have yet to travel. Seems very relaxing. Will be checking out part 3 and 4 soon. Excited for those as they are my stomping grounds.
I also don't drink hot drinks, so I would be in the same boat as you! What a great day. Some of those old buildings are amazing - especially the old mill with water wheel. I can see why that is so popular. Jam for days! I bet that was a wonderful treat on this trip!
I'm traveling through the parkway right now (Typing this up in a cabin at Meadows of Dan) and you guys are my tour guides. Thanks for sharing! Hoping to do the whole thing and see the smoky mountains in a few days.
Yeah you really did a lot on day two. A little hiking a little eating a little hot Cider! Really cool drive to experience. Thanks for sharing your adventure Randy!
Another classic--great narration, great colors (love the sunset), interesting stops. You probably wont' remember, but I mentioned in an earlier comment that we take a picture from each of our trips, make it an 8X10, frame it and put it on our "Memory Wall". For the Parkway it is a shot of Mabry Mill! Oh and one other note--my wife loves hot apple cider and I do not (cold is fine for me), so I got a chuckle from that part. Keep 'em coming and Happy Easter Monday!
I've always wanted to see the Blue Ridge Parkway, will be planning a trip soon. Seems so peaceful & beautiful, God sure did make some beauty! Have a blessed & Happy Easter!
What a wonderful video of a beautiful part of our country! Looking forward to the other videos. Thank you! Thank goodness COVID seems to be behind us and hopefully we can enjoy all of our parks
Randy, Another awesome AMERICA’S PARKS video, so enjoyable to watch this tour of Day 2 from you and Julie. So interesting how the historic buildings are there to visit, and nice to see where you choose to stop. That Ruben sandwich looks vey good! We especially enjoyed the cascades on falls creek, what a nice surprise! THANK YOUR FOR THE AMAZING SUNSET AND COLORS, . . . Mike
I drove this route years ago and didn't recognize any of this until I realized I confused Blue Ridge Parkway with the Shenandoah Parkway, DUH! 6:48 is a vintage caliper. Happy Easter, America's Parks.
Awesome Video!! so much great info// love the midwife's cabin! the colors at Grandview and the weather/ wow perfect.. thanks so much for taking us with you
Moonshine jelly. The Mill looks beautiful!! I want to go take my photo there also, I can see why it's the most photographed place. Looks a great time of year to explore that area. The trading post looks cute also! Great waterfall - do people tube or slide down it?? That looked like it was a rock slide!
This is on my bucket list! We just posted a video of our drive starting at the other end. We also drove into Gatlinburg. I really want to tent camp along the whole Blue Ridge Parkway and hike it. One day it will happen! Thanks for these videos! New sub!
This was one really good edit Randy. I admit, now that Kaylie is 18( can you believe it?)..I am looking forward more to doing some trips with just myself and Pennie. This one sure looked great! Really liking this series! Im chomping at the bit for later this month to get back on the road. I would like to give you a call soon as I need some advise on an upcoming purchase...any guesses? Wishing you, Julie, and the entire family a wonderful Easter. He is Risen!
You bet, my friend! Like you said, nice to spend some quality time along with the wife. It's been rare when the kids were young. Amen, He is risen indeed!
Down on the southern end, people say apple-at-cha. Folks on the northern end say appuh-lay-sha. I'm not sure where in the middle the changeover happens, but our family in southern WV say apple-at-cha.
Very nice episode and beautiful scenery! Really like those rustic wooden building structures...wonder what kind of wood lasts that long? Always appreciate seeing when you both travel together!
Hi Jan, I listed our complete itinerary in the video description. We just booked some simple hotels where we planned to stop each day in the local towns. There are some, but very few sleeping accommodations right on the parkway.
Wow your energy is congratulations! So glad everything went great for you. Congrats again and have a great week.I enjoy watching your happy make me happy too I did joined you subscribed my best channel. Im evo From Australia

Hey Randy. I appreciate your channel. You're one of 3 channels that inspired my wife and I to make our own. We have an infant son we take on small adventures and make videos about. Any tips or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Probably an AT shelter, that was the former path of the AT. After they built the BRP, they re-aligned a section of the AT much further west.
Interesting! Appreciate the insight!

Most beautiful place on earth in my opinion
Nice to see you give this place such high regards! Good taste!

Amen to that, Alice! Those 2 years with covid were brutal!

Right on, Carol! :)
Loving the rustic feel. Thanks!

Much appreciated! Loved this drive. Already scouting out some more stops if we get a chance to do it again. All the best to you guys!
Your videos of the Parkway have inspired me to go back through my pictures from July 2019 when my wife Joetta and I drove all 469 miles. Great trip!!
Great to hear you guys enjoyed this one, Dana!

Thanks! Wanted to respect the local culture, but was having difficulty with the right pronunciation as we traveled the whole stretch! :)
Very nice episode and beautiful scenery! Really like those rustic wooden building structures...wonder what kind of wood lasts that long? Always appreciate seeing when you both travel together!
Thanks so much, Mark!
Loved the scenery. Curious about available accommodations on the parkway. Where did you stay?

Yeah, good memory! I did a "preview" last year and now it's 4 individual videos detailing each specific day. Hope you can get out there! So special!

Good question... I do at times, but really just upload to my site and move on. Always humbled that anyone cares to watch the videos. :)
