- This tutorial will teach you how to mod games that use SCS files, like Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Farming Simulator 2013. For this you will need a few programs like WinRAR, the SCS extractor from the ETS2 website, a photo editor, and if you're using Photoshop, you will need some plugins from Nvidia.

Oh and as a Quick btw / fyi should probably add in the description to find the Base.scs for the game if you're on steam you can either right click steam open file location and go steammapps / common / Euro Truck Simulator 2 or program files (x86) /steam/ Steammapps / common /Euro Truck Simulator 2 just figure ide point that out X3

It depends on if you have 64 bit, or 32 bit Photoshop, but typically Photoshop's base directory is C: Program Files/Adobe/ Adobe Photoshop CS5. But sometimes your PC may have a Program Files, and Program Files (x86) folders so check both if you have them.

you can just extract it with winrar... just so you know
there is now a 'Freeware' version of Photoshop available directly from Adobe website, However I am not sure how much of the functionality has been removed in this 'Free' version. But still worth a look :)

Thanks! But I've got a question: in this video you skin a standard truck, but I want to skin a paintjob. When I'm done changing the paintjob, do I need to place the .tobj-file ánd the paintjobfile in the same archive? Or only the paintjob-file?

have you got some photoshop plugins for some newer verison? beacuase i cant either open the color.dds in the photoshop.

You can also use paint(.)net as it comes with .dds support as standard
heres one for you how do I not have flipped images the other side of the truck I came to view it and everything was the right way around when adding images on to it. but when to view in game it was flipped the other side of truck. please help

i dont want to fool you, but i dont like this video, this is how to make a skin, not a mod, though a skin is a mod, i was trying to see if i could get how to make a mod, like a new engine, or something similar. wont dislike the video, as it does what its supposed to and works. but still, please rename so it says "How To Make A Skin For Euro Truck Simulator 2"
Ya Well if you're looking for how to make Mod's then don't view Euro truck related videos, because as far as it stands you can't really mod the scripts for this game, you wanna learn mods look stuff up for Skyrim, Fallout, Garry's Mod, L4D2, and such because you can create custom scripts and such through LUA Coding.
Kyle Hodgins i know that i can easily mod in Gmod and other similar games, but i wanted to make a mod for ETS2, and you can mod it, its just a lot harder.

Why in Windows 10 i can't see the file color.dds e color.tobi at minuts 6:46. I have selected in options SEE ALL FILE. Where is the problem?

I am trying to make a skin for the Kenworth K100 in ETS2. In your video you say to get the Color.DDS. But the K100 does not have that file. Would you know which file i need to open to put a new skin on the truck.

When I went to TEST\vehicle\truck I didn't find the trucks, I found two folders: 'Share' and 'Upgrade'. I am using American Truck Simulator. Does someone know where I need to look? Thanks.

How to disable mirroring while putting an another image onto a part of the truck. It displays it on the other side of the truck mirrored
You just need a photo editing Program that can save under DDS file type. If you searching for a free program to do so, look up GIMP. Enjoy! :)

no matter what I do whatever version of photoshop I install the same message appears that it cannot open the file ive installed the newest ps the one your using and cs6 still the same message !!!!

I DOWNLOAD ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5.1 EXTENDED EDITION FROM THE PIRATE BAY I INSTAL THE PROGRAM AND I OPEN A FILE .DDS AND THE PROGRAM PULLED A MESSAGE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR REQUEST BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE RIGHT KIND OF DOCUMENT.HOW I CAN OPEN THIS FILE? PLEASE HELP ME.

Ya i checked those and i know i have an Adobe Folder but when i open it, there is no Adobe photo shop in there, oh also probably should have mentioned i did download the Photo Shop free off a 4share site with Winrar, not exactly sure if that could be the issue, i myself was thinking of possibly trying this out, Extracting the .exe from winrar into the adobe folder and trying to load it that way, because for the plugins i did click 64 bit and i have a 64 bit system.

Need video. I've noticed how some guys have US type trucks with long hoods, how did they manage to do that ? doesn't appear they would have just tweaked a 2D image of a cab-over truck like a DAF or MAN ?

when i was doing it so it was going to be a scs file it just being zip file/mapp?
ETS can load .zip, you don't need to false convert it to scs.

When im editting a skin of a trailer, then in the game, the editted trailer comes with all kind of color pixels (and not the colors that i editted). Does anyone know what to do?

Love the tutorial, but would like to point out all you need is winrar, you dont need the self extractor program, since you can rename the basefile back to " *.zip " and it will work with winrar to unpack it, in that way you can see how long you are in the process. Now I might just be an idiot since I cant find the link to the plugins, so could anyone paste it again ^^ thanks

Anyways i do not know if you pay much attention to the replies on this particular video seeing it's over a year old now but, what i want to ask can you import lets say a picture from pictures you collected on you're machine paste them into the photo shop and make ti apply them to templates as you are showing, (Like how you were drawing on the template) can you drag a picture onto and have it act like you made that picture a part of that template?
I've never tried it, but yeah, it would seriously surprise me if you couldn't. I would give it a try.
