Thanks for the video mate. It's easy to change even without taking out the airbox. Just only thing that I struggle with was my ratchet was to to big and after realising tension on old belt it was impossible to take it off to get old belt out so o had to release tension and get my gran to slide the belt past ratchet and same when inserting new one. But after new belt was in, it was easy to remove ratchet
Starting to feel a bit thick - tried a couple of time to put the belt on and still 1/2" short with full idler pulley at full spring for maximum play and it still wont go on.....you make it look easier than what it is
thank you Mate, got many Aussies her in the southern Philippines where I live, not too many Americans. they hang in Manila "sin city" and Cebu "sin city 2".
hello my friend i'm from Romania and i own a toyota hilux vigo mk6 2008 171 Hp 3,0 litre, i have a question: when you have to change this belt you have to change also the piece that lines/streches the belt?
the piece that release the tension on the belt. you should change it when you change this belt? and how many km you should go with the new one and after change it again? Sorry for my bad english. best regards.
my friend... thanks. if i will be not an annoying person to you. please leave me your watssup number so i can question about mechanocal things about my pickup. Cause this pick up is very popular to you insteed of my contry where it's hard to find good pieces and good mechanics. if you dont mind of course.
Two things about this video; never put tools or bolts on an engine or even anywhere in the engine bay like at 2.18 on this video, it is so easy to forget it there or it can fall down into small spaces etc, secondly disconnect the battery before working on or around the engine.
Thanks for making this video. It saved me and I got the job done in 24 min

how many kilometers do we need to replace the belt?
you have a crank in the Air con compressor bracket. Right at the start of the video
Thanks for the video
No problem!
thanks for very good tip...

according to Toyota it should be changed after 100,000 miles ( 160K Km ) or 10 years.
Ideally you should change the tensioner at the same time as the belt.
glad that you answered me. i have bought the car new in 2008. i have 250 k km . so from 2008 to 2017 it is 9 years. so it is time to change it no?
Yes i think it would be good to change that soon !
