    STI = Super Terrible Index as Mr Loo says lol...maybe u should do a complete video of why it's not

    • @janicetan4626
      @janicetan4626 5 месяцев назад

      STI index fund is good to buy when market crash to 2800 points and then watch it slowly appreciates a little at a time and meantime collect the dividend. Usually when STI reaches 3200-3400, it will plunge again. I have it since 2 decades ago so I agree with Mr Loo. If aiming for capital appreciation, go with what Mr Loo recommends.

    Besides SPDR STI ETF (ES3) & Lion-Phillip S-REIT ETF (CLR), my 3rd SG dividend ETF is iShares USD Asia High Yield Bond ETF (O9P).

      iShares USD Asia High Yield Bond ETF (O9P) -- the risk of this ETF is very high, but it is not visible. You should invest likely in Nikko Corporate Bond fund. "High yield' is an euphemism for junk bonds. Additionally, these junk bonds are from emerging asian countries, but in USD. During economic downturn such asian currencies go down, but dollar goes up. The risk is not visible in chart because of skewness.

      Investing in only dividends stocks is anti-science.

    hi sir. please do a video on how to invest in overseas dividend stocks / dividend ETF too!

      You should buy normal ETF. Dividends are tax inefficient and you are losing diversification (diversification is a free lunch).

    How to calculate dividend payout rate in dollar using divdend yield? What’s the formula? Or is there other ways to do so?

    • @KelvinLearnsInvesting
      @KelvinLearnsInvesting  5 месяцев назад

      It’s just dividend payout per year, divided by current stock price

    If you are buy odd lots. You'd still be receiving dividends on them right? For eg, DBS. Thanks

    There's no capital gains tax in Singapore already ma

    • @M43782
      @M43782 5 месяцев назад +1

      But in the US it is. 30% default rate withholding tax on dividends (Singapore has default becasue is doesn't have tax treaty).

    Dividends are not free money. Dividends are not income. Dividends are tax ineffective if taxed. Dividends are just forced sell of part of a stocks.
