I GASPED when I saw this. I'm in school right now to get a history degree so I can be a park ranger. One more semester before I'm done with my associates, then going to get my bachelor's. I'm so happy you made this video. Being a park ranger is my dream job, the prospect of wearing one of those big hats is what motivates me every day to do well in school❤
@@industrialdonut7681 not necessarily, I volunteered at a park and the leading interpretive ranger there told me that he knew another park ranger that had a degree in accounting. So long as it's a bachelor's degree or above, it can be almost anything, as long as it's relevant to your field. I chose history because I have an interest in it.
@@eyeballmeat4597 it's one source of motivation anyways :-) besides joining the Navy, I have never wanted anything more in my entire life than to be a park ranger
Park Ranger here! This means the world to me; to see this occupation/experience represented by one of my favorite ASMR artists. I appreciate your concise information and safety precautions as it’s so, so important!!! Ahhh thank you! 🥹
I like how straight laced this character seems. She really takes this stuff seriously, seems like she’s perfect for the job. I do wish we’d gotten to see more of that pocket nature library! I adore books like that and I usually take some kind of field guide to identifying plants when I go on forest walks. Even just flipping through them is fun
Where does one find those guides? I wanted one dor mushrooms and plants, but I can't find any decent ones and I really like scientific illustrations on them, but I feel like there isn't much of that. A pocket book with scientific illustrations would be really really good to find
@@marsviolets4651 I’ve found the ones I have at indigo (bookstore in Canada, not sure where you’re from,) they’re normally in some non fiction section labeled plants and animals or something along those lines, next to the science or business sections. I’ve also found a lot of good stuff at the library, again in like a plants/gardening/forestry/horticulture type section. It can be a bit of a hit and miss picking out books that have the exact content you want but when you find one that fits it’s worth it! Personally I like ones with names like “North American guide to wildlife” or “beginner’s guide to foraging mushrooms” (a lot of foraging ones will give you good stuff.) it kinda depends what exactly you want the book for. If you want just a scientific breakdown of the plant I’d suggest field guides cause those usually have pictures for identification. But if you want to actually use the things you find foraging guides are good cause they tend to focus on plants that have some sort of nutritional or medicinal value, and will warn against poisonous ones to avoid. I’ve found flower field guides specifically have those kinds of illustrations you might be looking for, I love those. Small ones with “pocket book” in the title are usually specifically for identifying and have more concise info on what to look for because they have to fit a lot into a small space. Hope this helps! There are a TON of books like this out there, you really just kinda have to experiment with them until you find one you like! I think an easy place to start is look for one specifically about whatever area you live in. Like your state or province, etc.

May I ask you what you mean by hand motions? I mean which in particular do you like? I've just started an ASMR channel and am mining for information on styles that people enjoy!
Haven't finished it yet but this seems like a good one Erin :) I've been missing your more whimsical roleplays, especially the Halloween stuff. Thank you for another great performance!
Okay this has to be a sign!!! I have been asking the universe for a sign on what college to go to, one will help me become a park ranger and another is for a different job, I’ve been crazy stressed out about it and as soon as I look for her channel to help me relax this is the newest video!!!! And may I just say a amazing video too 😂❤
Absolutely fantastic video! Concept suits you perfectly, and hiking is one of my favorite ways to spend a day so it was a glorious combination of a favorite pastime and a favorite personality. Thanks Erin, I hope the universe is as kind to you as you have been to us today!!
No exaggeration, I haven't had tingles like that in...a decade. That was so relaxing. Those switches from soft speaking to soft whispering, the latter always giving me my triggers, are amazing.
My parents took me and my 5 siblings to national parks on our vacations--we'd get a campsite for a few days and hit all the best trails during our stay. Colorado is one of our favorite states to visit--great weather and so many incredible views!
Somehow it makes perfect sense that the outfit suits her so well. As someone who's had to ask a ranger (or other park employee/volunteer) about trails, this was a nicer and much cozier version of something I'm a bit familiar with
ive been hiking in bryce canyon before (definitely went through fairyland loop) on a trip that went there, zion national park, and the grand canyon, and it was an incredible experience (got to see sunrise at the grand canyon, one of the most visually stunning experiences of my life). for anyone who gets a chance to go hiking here, i cannot recommend it enough, its truly incredible stuff excellent video!
My personal favorite headcanon for this character is that while she and her station are liminal and otherworldly in nature, unlike some natural park cryptids, if you encounter her you are guaranteed protection 🥰
Once again, a beautifully constructed video Erin. Tracing the maps gave me full on tingles. The national parks should employ you to create an introduction video for them, to relax the visitors before they start their journey!
Erin, your amazing. I’ve watched your channel grow for a couple years now and you’ve become one of my favorite ASMR artists. Congratulations on 1million plus subscribers. I must thank you Erin, your videos helped me with countless panic and anxiety attacks over the years. Thank you so much and keep going strong! Have a lovely day everyone
I really hope you have actually been to Bryce Canyon! It is breath taking and my favorite national park. Such great descriptions and research....very well done! ❤
Had kind of Moonrise Kingdom vibe from this Girl Scout, loved the butterfly poster and all the props behind! 🦋 For ever gonna love this attention to details🥰✨
I took your advice and went down through the forest. After a while, I came across a side path that seemed like it hadn’t been walked in years. Following it, I eventually noticed the ruins of a small building hidden in the trees. As I neared the clearing I found some fabric that seemed to have been ripped by some previous explorer’s clothing. They must have been pretty torn up so I wonder if they took refuge in the building. On the gable roof the letters “BAB L BR K INN” were carved. I wonder if this was some lodging house back in the olden days. Curious, I walk towards the door frame, caved in by the hands of time, and peak into the desolate remains. On the ground, a muted painting of a girl and her family. Funny thing, she looked just like you.
You had me at the butterfly poster, but I can imagine being a park ranger being a really cool job. I imagine they help protect parks and help conserve them as well, can't imagine anything cooler than protecting animals and nature as a job
Omg this dropping at the same time as Trixie Mattel’s Camp Trixie collection is giving me all of the Moonrise Kingdom vibes I did not know I so desperately needed 🏕️
