I like Franks as a character but I really think the actor and show need to tone it down a bit. Young Gibbs, Lala, Vera, and Randy are all much more interesting to me.
I do find Franks to be a slightly more irritating than I would prefer as of right now. I think he's being written to be especially extra at the beginning of the series, I bet the writers will slowly tone him down throughout the series (at least towards his teammates). And yes, young Gibbs, Lala, Vera, and Randy are all great characters and I'm excited to learn more about them - especially the brand new characters.
