I don’t know if you noticed this, but Balahara’s eyes are absolutely amazing. It has eyes similar to a clam’s: small, blue eyes that line the edge of its mouth. Its mouth is also weird and flexible, which reminded me of a clam. I absolutely love Balahara
There is a small rodent that lives in the desert part of the Windward Plains. It’s called the sand star. It can only be found at night during the plenty.
One time I was fighting a Balahara above the cave you were in at 18:57 and it used its sand pit. After I got caught and sucked in I fell down into this room and balahara followed me.
Yup, I've had this happen, just wished I had recorded it! I think the sand pits can be created anywhere in the desert but they all lead you to the caves!
Theres a tiny azurill looking rare endemic life that's called desert star or something, it's a blue jerboa I think. It appears during dawn and dusk iirc like the prism beetle from World.
Those birds that ride the Ceratonoths are called Nothpeckers. They aren't too rare, at least from what I could tell, but I think only show up around the river location during ithe Plenty. Could be mistaken on that part though, but it's the only place I saw them. Someone else mentioned the hard to catch Desert Star. I never got him, sadly. There are at least two more fish that I found: The Gravid Bowfish, a larger brown variant of the Vivid Bowfish, found in the oasis. And the Goldenfish, found in that underground cave location. The later is one returning from previous MH games that gave you golden scales to sell.
There is a small jerboa-like mammal that shows up at night. I can't remember it's name but it glows bright blue and is hard to miss as it runs around the open sands. The only problem is that you will likely NEVER catch them as they are too quick and can outpace your Seikrat. You need to stun them with a Screamer pod before trying to scoop them up.
I loved this video, it was super chill and I like this level of detail in the games. I absolutely flipped my lid (in a good way) when you revealed that that the the villagers domesticate and even milk Dialthydons and even gave you CHEESE YOU COULD COOK WITH!?!? I shared my excitement with a friend only to return to see you cooing over the cute Baby Seikrets :3 ..... very good video.
Something about Balahara I experienced in the demo, is that sometimes before you fight him he’ll just be… underground, in the sand, completely just chilling out of sight. I only knew he was there because of the target market underground and he’s unreachable without a sonic bomb. Interestingly, he only seemed so so this in one specific area (one of the sandy canyons between the planes and dunes zones).
This is great! Weapons are important but at the end of the day I am here for the monsters so I really appreciate this and would love to see more in the future :D
Really good video! The ammount of detail and realism is just what amazes me with mh worlds and wilds. The Ceratonoth part was the best imo. Their group behaviour and the differences between males and females are just a really cool detail!
to the chatacabra it wil leat bulaqchi ( the mosquito like mosnter) it will also lay down n the oasis soaking in water and sit down enjoying the sun ( looking upowards with closed eyes)
Dw about using the Vigormantle bugs from what I see you just kinda pluck the herbs and stuff on its “mantle” and you eat that with the bug just kinda leaping away and digging. It happens super fast and is a bit hard to see. So don’t feel too bad about using them cuz ur just taking the mantle and not the actual bug
It's a shame that Baunos are not scavengers like Noios were. Perhaps it's not needed, because you can extract their screamer sacs from a distance now, which eliminates the need to get them to land using a raw meat or a monster carcass. But it'd be cool
Well i wouldnt assume that they arent scavengers just because they werent given behaviors to show it (its not like we see them hunting or foraging either). Their placement alone seem to imply that they stalk the nest of large monsters to pick at the discarded bodies.
I hope they actually implement *MORE* detailed ecology over time when the game comes out, making the world feel alive makes a huge difference in terms of immersion.
there is also a super rare glowing rabbit than only apears on certaint night with clear weather and it is called a sand star if you want to see it have a look at rage gaming video named Monster Hunter Wilds Beta - New Rare Monsters CONFIRMED - BIG Map Secrets & New Endemic Life Guide! and youll see it at 9mins
Oh hell yeah.
You've got competition
the goat himself :D
@@Florjb0rjTheFloorboard Hell yeah, more ecology and loremasters in the community is always a plus :D
the legend himself!
@@Florjb0rjTheFloorboard is this a bad thing? we need more ecology youtubers
8:08 Someone else managed to record it, when hungry Chatacabra will gulp down the Bulaqchi in one flick of its tongue!
Do you have the clip?
@ Unfortunately I don’t know how to link it but if you just search for Chatacabra eating it SHOULD pop up.
Always love this kind of "Nature Documentary" video on Monster Hunter.
Very nice change of pace from the weapon guides

This is actually a misconception the sand star can be encounter at night no matter the weather. I personally encountered mine during the fallow.
@ cool
36:47 Their little text box states that they secrete something that breaks down fulgurite and they eat the little bits of stuff inside.

30:40 They will fight back if hit after being knocked on the ground, they will even puff up their chest and make an effect like a sonic bomb!

30:48 They do at least occasionally scavenge, placing raw meat can make them come down for a bite.

15:16 it's taking a piss lmao like a kid in a pool they, stay silent then you feel the warmth

There is another lizard in the dunes , i think it spawns during the storm but i don't remember the name or location
parecido com uma iguana, pode ser encontrado nas cavernas
Yes, do more videos like this😊
you forgot the sand star rare endemic life in the Windward Plains during at night.
