    The difference we see, when the competition rules change! Props to Frank Galarza for transitioning into Muay Thai! Who wants to see more boxers come to MMA instead of just MMA fighters going into boxing? Comment below! Like in the recent news... Jon Jones vs Tyson Fury would be a crazy match up!!!

    Incredible how much the kicks took away from his head movement game. He was probably having a hard time processing all the new angles and heights at which to defend, but when you went to straight boxing, man, he has some moves. It's not often we see Jeff step in like that to try and smother someone's head movement, normally it's the other way around!

      Yes, Im from México and do Muay Thai, everybody tell me about "Boxing more" cus you know, México=Boxing but i always have to explain why I can't do the boxing things Thai, even the steps make u a tarjet to sweep, and not everybody understands that. Dude I can get a knee on my face if I do what r u tell me. Now, I have a Kickboxing fight last week, and there I could do so much more head movement.

    • @alexmash1353
      @alexmash1353 Год назад +9

      Nah, the problem was not processing all new angles at all, me thinks. In the boxing round, he rarely looks at Jeff after he starts his head motions and his movements are often wider than they should be. The reason is, he developed a few.. automatic motion sequences which are probably quite effective in minimizing the damage, he knows when to start each. But when it comes to legs, it is difficult to develop such automation. So now it requires a lot more.. conscious defense than he is used to.
      But... those are just my speculations.

      As a boxer who also does Muay Thai on occasion: boxers do just hit harder in general. The stance can afford to be a bit more grounded and you work in throwing just punches so they tend to have a bit more structure behind them. Having started at kickboxing, gone to boxing, then sparred kick-boxers again I found myself being totally unbothered by the punches. Leg kicks in the other hand… not so much
