It’s unfortunate that most people who visit Chicago never venture past downtown. There are so many awesome neighborhoods to do photography in here. Hopefully you’ll have the opportunity to visit again and make it out into some of the neighborhoods. Little India on Devon, Chinatown, Pilsen, Little Village, and Hyde Park, and Bronzeville just to name a few.
i'm glad i'm not the only one that makes this kind of squinty concentrated face at 3:19 when I'm unloading and loading film haha. Amazing video this looks so fun and makes me want to visit Chicago now✨ also you and Sissi Lu...dream team.
Great video shooting on this city that I cherish ! You took me almost 30 years back in my youth where I had there an awesome full year at 25 ! And that's when I decided and then embraced a full time career as a photojournalist. Thank you for these views which reminded me of these excellent memories and I loved seeing you appreciate this city and its atmosphere. Warm greetings from Switzerland ! Jean-Luc
this is so incredible. i am seeking this style of vlog and i am so happy that you guys are still making these things. when you still were active at moment i was always super hyped to see new videos. not because of the products as they didnt interest me, but because of your (you and the other folks) video, phototgraphy and editing skills. just absolutely amazing to see. have you planned the shots or have you just filmed them casually?
I love the quality of your videos. They are fun and super creative. They are very much you. I usually skip past the promos, nothing against them but they can be annoying. But yours for “Track Club” was FUN to watch. Oh yeah, I love to see the growth of your channel. Keep up the great work. 🙌🏾
Yesterday was my 6th year living in Chicago and I’m still finding new spots & still amazed by the city and people. Also how have I never come across your channel???? Just subscribed!
fun video, nice footage of the city :) always cool to see other peoples perspective of chicago i'm a LA native but been chicago for 7 years shooting street very different from shoot in LA
Great photos! I really enjoyed Chicago when I visited, hoping to go back soon. I’ve been following Beers and Cameras for a while and would love to go on one of their walks, even if I don’t shoot film.
Oh my! Whatever Camera/Lens/Processing combo you are using for the beginning shots this video is pure magic. Would you please elaborate a bit on the process?
I had one of my first rolls ever turn out completely blown out like that one roll you showed, still to this day have no idea what actually happened to it.
I really love your videos because invite me lo live more conected and enjoy what we got. The editing, your voice and the way you feel the photograph and photo trips it’s honest and beautiful. Thanks for share this histories. My best wishes for you. ✨
Can’t believe that in the 18+ years I lived in Chicago (grew up in the ‘burbs) I never went on an architecture tour. Gonna remedy that next time I’m there. Might have to take the train from Omaha. 🤔 Also… Track Club RULZ🤘
I lived in Chicago for four years. I agree that the architectural boat tour is a must for visitors and residents alike. The docent sharing the history of the buildings was so helpful. MAJOR SUGGESTION: take the tour at sunset. That puts you on the water at night. That is so special. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Just found your channel through Mat Marrash. Help me to understand this but this event was organized by The Darkroom, which is a film lab....but at the end you give thanks to Hidden Light film lab for developing the film shot during this event. Maybe I'm missing something but that seems like a slap in Darkroom's face. Not trying to throw shade but I'm just confused what the Darkroom gets out of organizing these events.
Haha, we don’t have to use The Darkroom by any means to go on these trips! They’re totally community-based. It’s truly just to get film photographers together.
Shame you left your video gear behind during your last trek. Your stills are chock full of wonderful tonage, but your video work is tight, tight, tight! ❤
I watch your videos on the couch, never the toilet.
Clicking on this video and seeing only this comment raised so many questions 😂
Don’t tell Jason or Caleb, but your pics from the trip were the best of the bunch. 😮💨
as a resident I have taken the boat tour over a dozen times and its still a top 3 must do activity while visiting
I second this.
I've lived in Chicago for 30 years and I still enjoy the Architecture tour. Been on it 4 times, looking forward to the next one.
First shot - I gasped. I lived here for a couple years and you completely brought me back. Thank you ✨

I'm right next door in Iowa and considered coming to this. Next time!
The Union Station photos were my favorites of the bunch.

for the overexposed roll it looks like loose backing paper! I had the exact same thing happen to me and the look is almost identical
two of my fave photogs hanging out omg love 🫶🫶
Idk but i found your videos so relaxing, so inspiring 😮💨 seriously I admire you!
Can we not let that sweet seamless transition from the video to music jam time go unnoticed
🫡
Love your photos. Ha! That sponsor bit was so good i actually watched it. I never do. Please don't stop suggesting music at the end : )
Another lovely production of good narration, neat edits and gorgeous photographs.
Going on a trip to Chicago soon so thanks for this video

Oh wow. So cool to hear this!! That’s really kind of you.
The way I film these days is verrrry casual. I build the story later in the edit.
Thanks so much for the video, I really liked it. Great photos, I especially like the one at 2:41. Strong.

Chicago is built for B&W. Love It!
I actually this is true
@@graincheck And those over exposed shots reminds me of what would be used in the old newspapers.
First video I’ve watched of yours, very nicely done. Great looking images!
Hey super star, love the grainchecks thanks for bringing them back :D I really liked this shoot, I am fast forwarding a trip to Chicago now.
Love how you captured the city! Would love it if you did a GrainCheck meet up next time around!
The track club ad was brilliant
Beautiful shots 😍 and the Jason contemplating comment made me cackle

Beautiful city! B&W definitely has a special charm, also the music you chose fits the vibe perfectly 😍
Such a creative sponsor break 😀🙌🏾 sewww gewd!
Super refreshing. Love it. Thank you Taylor ❤
Thanks for this 🎈
stunning video as always! I only had the opportunity to visit chicago for a day, but it’s probably one of the best cities to shoot film in.
3:35 was some epic Graincheck™️ 🤓🤩💪
Here from Peter McKinnon… and I live in Chicago! I've never taken that tour. I'm adding it to my list for next summer. Loved the video!
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot :) Need to visit the Great Lakes!

ZOMG THE PICTUREESSSSS. I think the ones at Union Station were my faves.
Always happy to see my city through someone else (talented) eyes
I literally said 'aww' out loud when you said its time to say goodbye haha
I love your videos! Always so relaxing and chill and The face you were making while loading film on the boat gave me life lol
hahahahahaha the anxiety
@@graincheck Bahahaha You got it! That's all that matters!!! Teach that anxiety who's BOSS!
This is a really great video in every regard :)
BEST of the Chicago-B&C-DR videos I have watched, and I have watched a lot…. I am on my Lazy-Boy, btw🍺
Anyone know what camera Sissi Lu is shooting with at 2:51??
Update it looks like a Pentax auto 110 with 20-40mm lens.
It is indeed a Pentax auto 110
I’ve been noticed. Gonna cry now.
Nice video and photos, they bring me back memories from my travel in 2005.
Interesting channel, just discovered it, new sub!
Thumbnail was on point. 👌
That overexposed roll looks like a "fat roll" where the backing paper isn't tight enough around the film. Great photos!
I love the overexposed photos !
Classic graincheck W
Great video!
You've been making some fun videos, I really like the style and content. New subscriber!
Great photos! I really enjoyed Chicago when I visited, hoping to go back soon.
I’ve been following Beers and Cameras for a while and would love to go on one of their walks, even if I don’t shoot film.
I love the sunglasses with yellow tint. where did you get it?
The 75mm on the pentax 645 is such a solid lens!
Nice one, great job! Can we get a slideshow of your (awesome!) photos while the song is playing at the end?
that’s a good idea 🤔
One thing I SOOOO appreciate…. Despite the advertiser breaks, is you NOT syaing “smash that like button” every 30 seconds…. Please don’t ever do that.
Taylor and her loyal 4x4 sneakers! 🙌
there was a loud high pitch ringing during the beginning of the video?
Oh my! Whatever Camera/Lens/Processing combo you are using for the beginning shots this video is pure magic. Would you please elaborate a bit on the process?
where do the photo walks happen?
Loved the pic of train car
Imagined what you must've been feeling when going under those Chicago bridges, dope video as usual Taylor 📸
Lovely video
That apartment is the perfect size!
Simplesmente incrível, Taylor! 🔥
Okay but is Track Club the only place to find that song at the end cause DAMN
🥵
what hotel is that? looks super nice
Citizen M…so cool
Does anyone know what camera sissi lu is using on the boat? The tiny one?
Pentax auto 110
@@graincheck thank you!! Headed to ebay now
ohh a Citizen hotel , i love it
2:50 what pentax model is this 👀
Need to know myself.
@@henry2941 seems like it is a Pentax 110 auto, 110 film camera unfortunately
Update it looks like a Pentax auto 110 with 20-40mm lens.
Taylor out of curiosity did you end up returning that infamous Leica? Love your content!
Haha, yes I did!! The shop offered me a refund and I gladly accepted.
Track club Taylor 😂😭
I had one of my first rolls ever turn out completely blown out like that one roll you showed, still to this day have no idea what actually happened to it.
🙈🙉
1:53 damn.... 🤩
2:00 No way!!! they made the wilco album in real life!?!?!

@@martingreenberg870 Good call on going at sunset. I wonder what the earliest tour tine is… Wouldn’t mine one at sunrise either!

I hope you know the band Wilco
I watch your videos on the office chair
Leave it to RUclips’s very own grainy days to sulk in deep sorrow in hopes that he never has to chug another flaming hot Mountain Dew ever again 😢
I watch your video at 0.75x speed so that it doesn’t end soon :)
😍😍❤❤🥰🥰
Shame you left your video gear behind during your last trek. Your stills are chock full of wonderful tonage, but your video work is tight, tight, tight! ❤
Watched it in the bed!
