I do wish that game was available on the Mac. Didn't like the BC2 version since the NVA characters looked more like Viet Cong. There's a big difference between the two factions.
yes that's going to be great, but battlefield vietnam was so.. you know, simple, not the upgrades on the weapons we know nowadays, huge like maps, a huge amount of vehicles and weapons.. battlefield bad company 2 vietnam is so much smaller compared to it.. and i dont know how it is for all of you, but the graphics don't make up for the great experience i had in battlefield vietnam
If we do have Battlefield Vietnam 2... - Add MiG-17 and MiG-21 on PAVN's side, especially the "legend" ones (there was one plane credited with 14 confirmed kills), also SAM-2 (S-75 Dilva) and Dragunov would be nice - A-37, AC-130,... All should be nice on US side
The Privileged Capitalist Both AC-130 (having guns) and C-130 (carrying stuff) were both deployed in Viet Nam back in those day. And the AC-130 gave us a rough time
WhatsY0UTUB3 Dice needs to make battlefield revolution where it has multiple war eras in one game. There would be ww2, Vietnam, and modern warfare all in one game. hey man you should check out Project Reality: Battlefield 2. fantastic realism mod. and a dedicated trans pilot is a MUST in the huge maps that can be up to 4 square kilometers!
VenomVsTRex As another guy replied, try BF2: Project Reality. In addition to having a need for dedicated pilots, it has a couple of Vietnam-themed maps, where you'll be able to do that again.
Gonzo 1234 Well, you do know they were VERY fragile IRL? Seriously, guys took their helmets off their heads and sat on them while in Hueys to prevent their balls being shot off.
Dear Angrystupid: 1. Shut the fuck up. 2. Logistics. Google it. 3. Shut up again. 4. BFV had very different gameplay from BF3/4. Much bigger maps. Having a dedicated transport was extremely useful to get people around quickly allowing them to cap flags before enemies could even get there. 5. People play for reasons besides adding tallies in the "W" column; people also play for fun. I had fun being a militarized heli-taxi in a game that came out the same year you were born. Get over it. Finally, you might hate my guts, but no-one in the world loves you. So there. P.S. Blow me.
Some of the small arms that you mentioned such as the VZ. 58 and the MAT 49, while cool they are rather iconic. I would like to see a Vietnam game with not well known weapons, examples being the Colt Model 655 (M16 sniper variant), M69W (early 7.62 variant of the M63 Stoner weapon system), and M-41 Red-eye (one of America's 1st man portable SAMs).
Time periods that would be great for a Battlefield game: 1. Korean War(I can't think of any game set in this war) 2. World War 1 3. Soviet-Afghan War(Basically Soviet Union's Vietnam) 4. Iran-Iraq War 5. Gulf War 6. Spanish-American War(Most of the fighting was in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Philippines... so basically tropical warfare) 7. Philippine-American War(Picks up after the Spanish War) 8. Angolan Civil War 9. Second Sino-Japanese War 10. Falklands War
A return to WW2 would be refreshing, but only if we get to see stuff like the Germans' side on it, the Pacific war, the Second Sino-Japanese war, or the Soviet-Japanese War. I'm fucking tired of Market Garden and Stalingrad.
Hm.. I agree with both this but also the Vietnam comeback, I mean, there hasn't ever really been very good Vietnam games besides Shellshock : Name 67. I would love to play this, I mean, there's nothing more nostalgic then riding in a huey hundreds of feet above the jungle, your feet dangling off the side, and Fortunate Son is playing in the heli. :3
Misa kiv Are you serious? It's a game. People still make WW2 games even though the Nazis slaughtered millions of innocents, you see people begging for a WW2 game, but none of it mentions being able to be a camp warden and oversee the gas chambers.
Agree with what you say in the video, getting really tired of all those modern/futuristic fps games. Vietnam is where it's at! Driving around in the jungle listening to rock n' roll, fighting around old temples, underground tunnels, hiding in the dense jungle with a sniper, napalm, all that good shit! If they decide to make a Vietnam 2 game, I seriously hope they don't fuck up the sniping. Sniping in BF3 & 4 was so boring (with the bullet drop and all that, sniping was so slow). Also in BF3 & 4, it always felt like it was a slight delay on everything you did, not lagging, but you know, slow movements and weapon handling. They need to bring back the snappiness of Bad Company 2 & BC2: Vietnam.
Man ive been wanting a Vietnam game for a while, i love the theme, the music, and im just tired if the urban warfare where seeing more of lately. I remember using the shrubs as cover in bfbc2:vn sneaking my way along until a patrol boat would show up and just shred any foilage there was :)
The problem is that EA has the idea they need to compete with CoD by presenting pretty much the same settings. Modern war in CoD? Then BF has to have it as well. EA is so blinded that they forget that BF used to be its own game. We didn't care about a SP in BF. And yet they stuffed poor singleplayer into it. We loved bigger maps but CoD became popular so hoppa BF games got smaller maps. BF:Vietnam remains my favorite one in the series. Hope they one day bring it back and stop this bullshit competition with CoD. They shouldn't aim for CoD players FF, I'm a BF player, i want my fecking BF not a "Oooh look at us trying to be CoD and offer slightly more then that".
Son Dragneel But it is the truth. EA wanted to compete with CoD by copying CoD. Its not childish to say that, that is what happened. Older BF fans saw it happening. It went from huge open battlefields to smaller maps and lots more focus on infantry and even corridor maps without vehicles. A forced uppong singleplayer while BF never was about the singleplayer till it appeared on the console with Bad Company.
Yet the two games are still completely different with each focusing on certain points.Battlefield focuses on viehicles and COD focuses on infantry. The maps on battlefield are not getting smaller the largest map in BF history is from BF3 aromored kill. The single player is a good point, but most fps at the time of BC1 had a SP.
Son Dragneel Yeah but the problem is, and i guess its more EA. But EA at some point decided that its needs to compete with its competition by trying to become more like the competition. CoD had its crowd and BF had its crowd. Both completely different crowds. Yet some guys in suits decided they wanted to appeal more to the competitors crowd as well. There was no need to do that. In the time of BC1 most shooters where SP focused with often a tagged on MP that often wasn't any good beside a few. These day's its often the other way around, focus on MP and a tagged on not so great SP that they might as well kept it out. I was a fan of BF, BF vietnam and BF2 cause of the larger maps and vehicles. And people worked together a bit bitter back then (thou they did shoot you just to be the pilot themselves alot in BF vietnam). I probably worded it wrong but i just don't like it how today every game tries to be the same like the one that sells the best. All MMORPG's began to copy WoW (i know they wheren't the first but WoW made the genre more popular). Only now 10 years later they slowly try to change 1 or 2 things. With shooters they all try to be like CoD. EA even made BF more like CoD and on top of that they made Medal of Honor almost exactly the same as CoD too so suddenly two games that tried to grab CoD players. It's not CoDs fault, its EA's fault, or rather the suits faults that own the publishers these days with no knowledge about games and just look at numbers and think by trying to be a lot like that you will get their players (you don't, as you said as well both player bases are different). Sorry for the long post.
it's alright, but i disagree on every fps trying to be COD since they're are way too many fps out their for that to happen.I do agree that BF4 does focus on infantry more then BF3 and BC2,although that's more due to vehicles being heavily nerfed.
I think 10 years down the line an Open World RPG and eventually MMO WW2 invasion of Europe game is going to be the big thing. I've been conceiving it slowly, designing all the various military positions, branches, and divisions one can place themselves in, and how to set it up so you can meet at rally points for battles or go off rogue in a jeep and try to make it to Hitler in Berlin. But until then, This is the best idea Ive heard in years. Ive been dying to play Battlefield Vietnam again. And I have been struggling through MOH Airborne and Brothers in Arms Hells Highway trying to still get enjoyment from the outdated game engines. I can with imagination but its not the same. I played the Battlefield 3 story mode again and forgot how amazing it was. I've seen Band of Brothers probably 40 times each episode throughout my life, And routinely argue about what the greatest vietnam movie is. Not only could this game completely shift power and in the industry and bring it back to where it once was and away from this competitive copy cat nature instilled after the COD franchise got switched to a new production company. IT also can finally get people interested in history as they should be. The story mode for this game could be one of the best, most transcendant of the line between film and game, most intense and dramatic empathetically involving campaign modes a game has ever done. One thing I liked about MOH Allied Assault was if you played well enough against enemy ambushes and skirmishes you could make the members of your squad last longer through multiple levels. But if you sucked they would get killed. I remember when this one guy in my squad finally got killed in the Hedgerows by a sniper i didn't see I was like actually sad.
Azrael Selvmord you can shove bf 1944 I want a battlefield of the whole war not one year per game because see in bf 1943 it was so small because that year and very little happen and dice did not want to remake the same maps 5 timed over
an awesome idea that dice could do would be to make it feel a lot like the iconic films of vietnam, by this i mean rush maps that follow rivers and dense jungle allowing for combat that feels like the scene in apocalypse now when they fly into that village with choppers. also napalm could be used as a form of levolution or moving onto a next objective like in op metro after the first 2 mcoms are destroyed and you enter the subway. all sorts of epic things could be implemented
Frankly recent war games have forgotten the reality of war. So what I'd like to see is the horror of it all expressed. For instance if you set a guy on fire...he better scream. It needs to borderline disturb you at least. Or if a teammate gets killed near by, your character would yell in remorse, or just something to acknowledge that your buddy just died. They could also make the character models vary more. In the campaign, I feel like the story should be one of failure, waste and loss. In most shooter games, you have story's about sacrifice, honor, and glory. As cool as this is, it's not reality. Battlefield generally has a well balanced story in this regard.
would hope to see future mods including australian/new zealand actions in vietnam; like Binh Ba, (house to house fighting in 69), FSPB Coral & Balmoral, (artillery overrun & recaptured in 68), Battle of Hat Dich( a 78 day campaign in 68/69), Long Tan, (company vs regiments in 66) amongst a whole raft of engagements to choose from. ...... L1A1 slr's & 105mm's a heavy feature :)
battlefield cold war, with emphasise on US vs Russia. Missions behind enemy lines and nuclear hazards. Black bird and other legendary vehicles form the weapons arms race. Something like that would be cool.
Black ops operations huh? You know what, that's a fucking outstanding idea for a new Battlefield title. Let's make the emphasis of a new Battlefield ENTIRELY ON SMALL OPERATIONS. This literally means no all out warfare, since there WAS NONE in the cold war. It was called the COLD war for a reason. BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ACTION-NO DIRECT WARFARE. There was 0 warfare, only spy missions between the USA and the USSR. There were however, wars such as the Korean War and the glorious Vietnam War which were wars supported by both sides, but INDIRECTLY. The USA and the USSR NEVER WENT TO FUCKING WAR. Looks like you're the donkey here.
1 of the things that I loved about 1942 and Vietnam, Was the bots. I have a buddy who's disabled, and a few of my family would have a mini lan, and it'd be us vs all bots on other team. Was so much fun. I know intelligent bots can eat up a lot of CPU power. But man, even if it had to be on a dedicated computer. it'd be 1 of the thingns i would like to see. Especially now as it would make multiplayer better as people could go in and get used to the vehicle controls, and remap if need be. Over jumping into multiplayer and crashing before getting off the ground.
Campaign mode is one of the reasons I loved Vietcong so much. The M16 was pretty useless, but the M1 carbine that was the best. I still have nightmares about the booby trapped tunnels.
In BF: Vietnam 2, you need to add the creation of traps for the NVA side (a pit with spikes, a stretch with needles, etc.), complete destruction of the earth, for example, making tunnels or making a "sniper's nest" by blowing up a mountain with TNT. As primitive and hackneyed as it sounds, the opportunity sits on the trees. Also, as you correctly noted, you need to leave special equipment for each side. I'll explain right now. For example, the Vietnamese will have such types of weapons as the German STG, mg 34/42 on "Gaz" 69, types of captured French weapons. The Americans have M-60, M-16, M-1 Flamethrower and other weapons from WW 2. Add early military operations and France. Add realistic damage like in "Wor Tunder". Hit the gas tank, the tank exploded, hit the helicopter propeller, it falls, and so on. JUST PLEASE, DON'T MAKE IT A REALITY PROJECT! THIS IS SUCH A PARASHA WITH PSEUDO-REALISM, WHERE YOU CAN NOT NORMALLY SIT IN A VEHICLE WITHOUT EQUIPMENT (appropriate equipment, for example, a pilot-plane/helicopter) AND ALL YOUR ACTIONS DEPEND ON THE COMMANDER, YOU CAN'T EVEN SHIT YOURSELF WITHOUT HIM. AND YES, THE COOLDOWN IS HALF AN HOUR, THE CARDS ARE WIDER **** AND OTHER BULLSHIT.
I can honestly say that Battlefield Vietnam was my favorite FPS of all time! So many laughs and incredible moments/tactics with that game. I got so good at every weapon that at the end my pleasure was making Huey taxi runs for my teammates. Flying low through the trees, making a surprise dust-off on flags while my teammates gave everything on the mounted machine guns. Such epic moments that would make this game an instant hit on next gen consoles and PCs. Everything from placing lethal punji sticks on main trails, dropping a hidden spawn point behind enemy lines, carpet bombing napalm with an F4 Phantom or simply riding along in a moped head-banging to loud music to distract the enemy or just make my team laugh. THIS GAME NEEDS TO COME BACK !!!!
I'd like to see more accurate versions of the Huey helicopters: The UH-1H (slick) only had door guns. Then I'd like to see the UH-1B which was a dedicated gunship with M5 and M6 weapon subsystems: it had rocket pods and then dual mounted M-60s on each side then a CPG operated. In lieu of the twin M60s, later it had 7.62 mini guns on a swivel mount (not door guns). It also had a chin/front mounted 40mm grenade launcher. The game would require two people to fly in the UH-1B; a dedicated CPG and a pilot. UH-1Bs also had regular door gunners with bungee mounted M-60s. Later in Vietnam the first iterations of the AH-1 Huey Cobra gunship appeared which are used in the newer BF games (still used by the USMC). In summary, on the US side you had three helicopters: UH-1B gunship, UH-1H slick with door guns only and the AH-1 Cobra gunship (4 rocket pods that fired the 2.75 inch rockets-the hellfire missiles hadn't been developed yet, and chin mounted chain gun). Would also like to see single player (non-campaign) like in BF2, a single player mode where you're just playing against the computer. I would do that to practice before playing online.
if Battlefield Vietnam 2 would have a comander mode it would be cool to see that in stead of the cruze missle like in bf4 the us comander could drop a napalm and the nva comander could call in heavy artillery :)
I would like to see mod tools, bots fixed netcode. But I would prefer if they give us mod tools. Community is capable to create their own Vietnam mod for example Eve of Destruction. And community creates a lot of WW2 mods too. Battlefield 2 have Forgotten Hope 2 for example. Just imagine Forgotten Hope with Frostbite engine. And don’t forget on Project Reality with WW2 and Vietnam expansion.
This would be some feature that I think bfvn2 should have: -A map set in Ha Noi 1972 (with B52 of course) -A female play model for the Vietcong scout/recon -A dlc set before 1954, when Vietnam fight against the French army These are just my opinions, you can ad more if you want (I'm Vietnamese so my English kinda sucks)
we need a game like World at War on PS4 The artillery and rockets hitting the ground, calling in air support, big landing invasion of the beach , wooden bunkers/trenches filled with ambushing enemies, machine gun nests, enemy ambushes and there's an AI Seargent giving orders as you play through your mission-and the voice is relevant to the situation. How about we get this all in a PS4 game IF they done it for PS2 and ps3 Why can't they make a game like this on PS4. Consoles have much more power now and putting all these characteristics should be nothing. Maybe revisit the Japan war OR even change tack completely and make a game relating to the Italian Front during WW2, no one has ever done this. plus epic music and classic weapons like the B.A.R and the Garande and all those cool enemy weapons too Japanese machineguns and Rifles.
Probably the best untapped franchise of them all in my opinion and the original Battlefield Vietnam was way ahead of its time, which is amazing considering it took 11 months to develop. I would like to see a full game obviously and not just a DLC pack strapped to the backend of another modern day arcade shoot em up. There is soo much potential with military tech from Americas direct involvement (1964-1973) or even indirect involvement from the 50s, either way the classic WW2 small arms were being used within this conflict. We also get the Soviet indirect involvement with the supply of heavy weapons, munitions and advisors like engineers, snipers etc to the North Vietnames which then filtered down to the guerrilla fighters in the South.. Loads n loads of story potential. Don't get me wrong I love to play the newer franchises BF3 and 4 but its all too modern and has no grit, everyone running around with their holo type sights, lasers "pew pew" and I still prefer stock ol fasioned iron sight with no auto aim thats me through and through. I dream that one day the developer and publisher will come together and produce what will be the best multiplayer experience ever and I can picture those Huey's now, baring platoon emblems and flaring into the open LZ's surrounded by elephant grass and termite mounds, while above the Hogs and Cobras strafe the jungle canopy.... Not long after all hell breaks loose!!!!!
this point is a lie 1:07 As a Battlefield Vietnam player, I can say that players rely more on air vehicles (both sides, because EA Dice had the terrible idea of adding helicopters to the North Vietnamese/Vietcong faction) than on infantry tactics.
I love the bad company series and would love to see a third part including Vietnam 2. I would like to see more destruction, nothing is safe. I also would like to see more weapons exc. If a vehicle runs over a land mine and gets destroyed then so should you walking over them. I think clay mores would be a good add on for snipers.
If they make a great single player, that is accurate, down to the boots, a relatable protagonist and a bevy of lovable characters, great multiplayer, and a kickass 60's soundtrack, i'd be ALL OVER that.
I would like to see a weapon unlocking system that didn't rely on coop missions like bf3. Maybe unlocking weapons through basic training on various weapon types. The us military gets fort Bragg, viet cong gets a jungle camp and the nva gets a hanoi military base. For weapons a lot of weapons from ww2 and the korean war carried over to Vietnam. M1 garand, thompsons, mausers, Mosin nagants and the pphsk. just my 2 dongs
In the campaign make the characters LRRPs (Long Range Recon Patrol) those were the equivalent of modern day Army Rangers and Marine Force Recon. Make it about stealth and gathering intel for the bigger battles later on in the game, better the intel, the easier the battle.
Battlefield 2018 anyone? I feel like a Vietnam setting would be a great way to introduce the fun moments of BFV to the newer graphics and destruction engines that Dice has!
I think that beyond just doing Vietnam, or other real-world scenarios, Battlefield needs to do a fully fictional game, with at least 3 factions, all completely different from each other. One would be basically WWII tech, big guns, powerful guns, but low-tech, then a pseudo modern faction and then something with weaker laser guns, each with faction-wide cons and pros, such as better anti vehicle, better armor, etc.
I'd like to experience the campaigns in Laos and Cambodia. I gotta know what their war was like! We left Nam in '73 while the North and South kept fighting each other, right? And the Laos campaign kept going ever since the Fall of Saigon.
I stayed up 70 hours on adderall when the battlefield vietnam expansion came out. Had a blast..was allucinating shadow beings being chased away by light beings...the cord to my controller started wiggling like a snake..it was awesome as fuck. Also did my best killstreaks..pretty sure my mind entered the machine a few times and gave me supernatural gaming abilities for those days. I never played that good again. It came at a very heavy cost.
If DICE did make Battlefield Vietnam 2, they should really put the M202 FLASH. That's my favorite rocket launcher and it would be awesome to see it in a Battlefield.
would be cool to see a new vietnam and also have the ingame music. who didnt get cheerfull when jumping into that heli and the speakers blasted out "War"
I would love to see this. The only way I can get excited about another BF game is if Dice stays away from what everybody else is doing. This means NO more modern fire and forget combat and NO sci-fi combat. What I really want is to attack Omaha Beach in a game of Rush in Battlefield 1944 but playing Air superiority in an F-4 Phantom or Mig 21 over downtown Hanoi would be the shit. BF vets, we need to make this happen or you can forget about ever loving another BF title again.
Why not the Korean War? That would really be a gamechanger, in addition, there has been few, if not almost no FPS where the storyline is set in the war of Korea
STILL BEING PLAYED! We have survived the Gamespy apocalypse and the game is played daily by a dedicated community! Please reinstall your Battlefield Vietnams, update to 1.2 (NOT 1.21!!), then add IP address 8.9.30.43 and you'll be playing the game again! Join us! Copies of the game are only about $5 on Amazon on Ebay if you need one!
I would want more classes of vehicles, mainly tanks.light, medium, and heavy tanks should all make a return, with each having their ups and downs to each, and a different role. The return of limited ammo for tanks and machine guns would be great as well.
I was really excited when I heard about Rising Storm 2 thinking it would be the next BFV but man what a sad letdown that was. BFV was my favorite shooter next to the 1st COD, I musta bought 4 copies cause my discs kept getting scratched up and broken. I dream of the day someone recreates the game with better graphics on the same old maps +more. Hopefully somebody gets it together soon before my eyesight goes. PLEASE!!!
the squad in the story of this game could be a group of LRRP Rangers behind enemy lines that would be dope as fuck. and it would shed some light on one of the most bad ass special forces groups in U.S. history
They need to make a Vietnam battlefield with a campaign, multiplayer and co op missions
Yes Excellent point Full Singleplayer Multiplayer co op Practice against Bots. Singleplayer with multiple stories campaigns Hills.
Yes and bf2 remastered
And couch co-op
Battlefield Vietnam was my favorite battlefield game.
I do wish that game was available on the Mac. Didn't like the BC2 version since the NVA characters looked more like Viet Cong. There's a big difference between the two factions.
"High fives". Someone knows their 'Nam facts.
And the modes made for it were awesome like Desert Combat, and Point of Existence,
mine too what a pity that few people are playing
Well it 's a bit harder to play that the Gamefly servers have been shuttered. Many don't know about a patch they can implement to get back online.
Forrest Gump could ba a cool Easter egg
Full Metal Jacket easter eggs would be awesome as well
That would be cool
NerfHerderPlays Any Vietnam movie reference would be a cool Easter egg.
If I was a billionaire I would pay dice to make a new battlefield Vietnam and another ww2 battlefield both set to release on the same day
Lol good luck with that mate
Yeah dude, they would probally ruin it, i think playing vietnam is the best your gonna get
well fine then. when we magically become billionaires and make these amazing games, we'll name a bad guy after you.
j/k we won't name anyone after you
+vapormissile the new trailer is as good as ur gonna get
Sorry next game is called battlefield 1 which takes place in ww1
Just wait for the Rising Storm Vietnam :D
+Michael Lewandoski Hell Yes!
yes that's going to be great, but battlefield vietnam was so.. you know, simple, not the upgrades on the weapons we know nowadays, huge like maps, a huge amount of vehicles and weapons.. battlefield bad company 2 vietnam is so much smaller compared to it.. and i dont know how it is for all of you, but the graphics don't make up for the great experience i had in battlefield vietnam
We finally got it! it was good for about the first 3 months, now its dead.
@@johnjohnjohnh I just played it today in a full server, the game isnt dead.
That was very professional, well thought out, and put together. I can't see Dice not using some of your ideas if they were to come back to Vietnam.
If we do have Battlefield Vietnam 2...
- Add MiG-17 and MiG-21 on PAVN's side, especially the "legend" ones (there was one plane credited with 14 confirmed kills), also SAM-2 (S-75 Dilva) and Dragunov would be nice
- A-37, AC-130,... All should be nice on US side
Nit sure we had an an ac130 just the c130.
The Privileged Capitalist not*
The Privileged Capitalist Both AC-130 (having guns) and C-130 (carrying stuff) were both deployed in Viet Nam back in those day. And the AC-130 gave us a rough time
There wa a four gun tracked vehicle in BFV I think called the Hontas give me that
AC47 "Spooky Gunship"
I have listened to this guys dialogue a lot of times. memorable from the history of battlefield documentary . really good commentating voice
Miss this game so much. such an epic online game!
BF:V is still my favorite game ever. fuck i miss that game and my old clan buddies
***** really? i installed it again about a year ago and there were only like 2 servers with 10 people
+WhatsY0UTUB3 Me too dude... best Battlefield ever made
Deitnerb No shit!? I'm gunna have to check that out
yea i get teary about veit 1 and bf veit 2 just isnt enough!
WhatsY0UTUB3
Dice needs to make battlefield revolution where it has multiple war eras in one game. There would be ww2, Vietnam, and modern warfare all in one game. Or they can have bf 1942, bf vietnam, bf 2, and bf 2142 all remastered in one game. Either of those two options would be amazing to have released one day.
Just dont forget the music in battle. LOVED the music from the vehicles
do you know the music at the time 0:30 sec please?
I know if they made a campaign that was actually good for a Vietnam 2 i know it would be epic
Battlefield Vietnam 2
Bad Company 3
Battlefield 1944
Genesis Does What Nintendoes!!! and Battlefield 2143 don't forget him ;)
+Vidoke69|V1D0KS this is hitoric based topic, not SCI-FI... If you want sci-fi try CoD ;)
glazuna This is a *Battlefield* topic. Not a Genre topic.
Get it RIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTT!!!
the video is clearly talking about BF returning to historic based titles, not futuristic shit
+glazuna
Battlefield is one of those fewer shooters that tried other Era's instead of just sticking with 1 era for like 10 years then start with another.
They Started off World War 2 (BF1942)
Then Vietnam (BF Vietnam)
Then Modern War (Battlefield 2)
Then Futuristic (BF2142)
Then Comedic (Bad Company)
Then Cartoony (BF Heroes)
Then Back to World War 2 (BF1943)
Then Back to Comedic (Bad Company 2)
Then Back to Vietnam (Bad Company Vietnam)
Then Back to Modern War (Battlefield 3)
Then everything went to shit until Battlefield 4.
As long as it's not total shit like 3 and 4
It would be amazing to hop in a huey again. I used to do almost nothing but ferry troops all over the map in my huey. Outstanding fun, never even cared about points
Not BC2:Vietnam, BF Vietnam. Released 2004
hey man you should check out Project Reality: Battlefield 2. fantastic realism mod. and a dedicated trans pilot is a MUST in the huge maps that can be up to 4 square kilometers!
VenomVsTRex
As another guy replied, try BF2: Project Reality. In addition to having a need for dedicated pilots, it has a couple of Vietnam-themed maps, where you'll be able to do that again.
Gonzo 1234
Well, you do know they were VERY fragile IRL? Seriously, guys took their helmets off their heads and sat on them while in Hueys to prevent their balls being shot off.
Dear Angrystupid:
So there.
P.S. Blow me.
I still want this.
Time periods that would be great for a Battlefield game:
1. Korean War(I can't think of any game set in this war)
2. World War 1
3. Soviet-Afghan War(Basically Soviet Union's Vietnam)
4. Iran-Iraq War
5. Gulf War
6. Spanish-American War(Most of the fighting was in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Philippines... so basically tropical warfare)
7. Philippine-American War(Picks up after the Spanish War)
8. Angolan Civil War
9. Second Sino-Japanese War
10. Falklands War
OrbitalAssassin don’t forget the civil war.
Kids these days don't understand just how epic Battlefield Vietnam was
Rolling in to battle in a huey with tunes. They were the days.
@@cthomas3782 Hell yes
Battlefield 1944 is what is needed. The time is right, WW2 needs a comeback in the FPS genre!
A return to WW2 would be refreshing, but only if we get to see stuff like the Germans' side on it, the Pacific war, the Second Sino-Japanese war, or the Soviet-Japanese War.
I'm fucking tired of Market Garden and Stalingrad.
It sure would, but they will not go for something that has little commercial value for western folks.
*****
And shooting Vietnamese civilians while you're at it, right?
Sniping was realistic not boring
Man ive been wanting a Vietnam game for a while, i love the theme, the music, and im just tired if the urban warfare where seeing more of lately. I remember using the shrubs as cover in bfbc2:vn sneaking my way along until a patrol boat would show up and just shred any foilage there was :)
A1 skyraide, mig 17, F4 phantom
Yessss.
PWNG gaming I want F-111 so bad!
Hey, how about the F-105 Thud?
why not the korean war?
Your right!
I have been saying this since BF3, and there is almost no helicopter action in the Hardline DLC anyway..
defiantly Korean war and would love a World War I game :D
MrJJuK1 WW1 is trench warfare. Not very interesting.
wasn't all trench warfare, but would be a change of pace for some people. Not everyone's game but i bet there's people out there that would like one.
Best of both worlds. BC3+Vietnam. :)
very good your video, image and sound perfect!
what about a map of the la drang valley?
+SUPREME TACOS hamburger hill would be awesome too
+. I☺I also know as hill 849, it was one of the biggest slaughters of a US patrol by NVA forces, led to the the siege of khe shan
They shouldn't aim for CoD players FF, I'm a BF player, i want my fecking BF not a "Oooh look at us trying to be CoD and offer slightly more then that".
blaming COD for the shortcomings of the recent battlefield games, more specifically BF4,isn't going to help, and frankly makes you seem childish.
Son Dragneel
But it is the truth.
Son Dragneel
Yeah but the problem is, and i guess its more EA.
Watching in 2018, still hoping fingers crossed.
1944, Vietnam 2, 2143, WW1 even. Modern Warfare is getting stale...
James Upchurch there was a bf1917 mod for bf1942. Could be cool.
*1918
#ripcod
Azrael Selvmord well u got WW1 so yeah
Azrael Selvmord you can shove bf 1944 I want a battlefield of the whole war not one year per game because see in bf 1943 it was so small because that year and very little happen and dice did not want to remake the same maps 5 timed over
I would love another Battlefield game set during the Vietnam war, especially so if the building mechanic returns from Battlefield 5.
an awesome idea that dice could do would be to make it feel a lot like the iconic films of vietnam, by this i mean rush maps that follow rivers and dense jungle allowing for combat that feels like the scene in apocalypse now when they fly into that village with choppers. also napalm could be used as a form of levolution or moving onto a next objective like in op metro after the first 2 mcoms are destroyed and you enter the subway. all sorts of epic things could be implemented
That map with the hills and fire looked amazing
Just play Red Orchestra 2.
would hope to see future mods including australian/new zealand actions in vietnam; like Binh Ba, (house to house fighting in 69), FSPB Coral & Balmoral, (artillery overrun & recaptured in 68), Battle of Hat Dich( a 78 day campaign in 68/69), Long Tan, (company vs regiments in 66) amongst a whole raft of engagements to choose from. ...... L1A1 slr's & 105mm's a heavy feature :)
battlefield cold war, with emphasise on US vs Russia. Missions behind enemy lines and nuclear hazards. Black bird and other legendary vehicles form the weapons arms race. Something like that would be cool.
And a lots of wars!
LOTS OF FACTIONS!
LOTS OF COUNTTTTTRIEEEES!!!!.
This is BF not Orbiter or Space War.
Gard that is battlefield today always Russia vs America boooring
+Dazza skillz black ops operations were made during this time you donkey.
Maps like the settings in platoon. Elias's final fight setting (woods, ant hills, fox holes.).
Some areas linked by tunnels.
Trip wires?
MAT 49 was in Battlefield Vietnam
1 of the things that I loved about 1942 and Vietnam, Was the bots. I have a buddy who's disabled, and a few of my family would have a mini lan, and it'd be us vs all bots on other team. Was so much fun. I know intelligent bots can eat up a lot of CPU power. But man, even if it had to be on a dedicated computer. it'd be 1 of the thingns i would like to see. Especially now as it would make multiplayer better as people could go in and get used to the vehicle controls, and remap if need be. Over jumping into multiplayer and crashing before getting off the ground.
I like the idea that different factions could once again play differently, currently the pla the us forces play pretty much the exact same
NO NEED TO WORRY. FOR BATTLEFIELD 1 IS TO COME.
bad company 2 had vietnam what about bad company 3 having korea
that would be awesome like if you agree
Campaign mode is one of the reasons I loved Vietcong so much. The M16 was pretty useless, but the M1 carbine that was the best. I still have nightmares about the booby trapped tunnels.
They managed to hire the epic voice guy from Gamerspawn?!
What about a Battlefield korean war? It Will be great with some old fighterjets.
SUPPORTING THIS!
THIS GAME NEEDS TO COME BACK !!!!
long as it brings back the music from bad company 2 i'm sold
I couldn't tell you how many hours I spent playing BFV. It's what make me get into pc gaming. I so wished they made this for Xbox one.
i love how this is recommended to me 9 years later. lmao
IF THIS GAME EXISTED AND INCLUDED EVERYTHING YOU SAID IN THE VIDEO IT WOULD BE LEGENDARY!
Can You Make Battlefield 2 Remastered,Battlefield Cold War & Battlefield Iraq-Iran 1990-2005 Games Please...
Being able to drop napalm would be cool. It could also have more of a selection in snipers.
Long way till new Vietnam.
This would be some feature that I think bfvn2 should have:
-A map set in Ha Noi 1972 (with B52 of course)
-A female play model for the Vietcong scout/recon
-A dlc set before 1954, when Vietnam fight against the French army
These are just my opinions, you can ad more if you want
(I'm Vietnamese so my English kinda sucks)
The title made me think of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, "From the ashes of Vietnam War 2"
I'd like to see the battle of kham duc as it was the most intense 3 days of the war and also in honor of the 196th LIB
Could not stop laughing when he said "the Axis" in reference to Soviet equipment.
If they made this for the 360 or xbox one, I would definitely be in line to get this
we need a game like World at War on PS4 The artillery and rockets hitting the ground, calling in air support, big landing invasion of the beach , wooden bunkers/trenches filled with ambushing enemies, machine gun nests, enemy ambushes and there's an AI Seargent giving orders as you play through your mission-and the voice is relevant to the situation.
+Dream Pilot yes and yes
Battlefield 1942 had an expansion pack focused on the Italian front.
Yes please bring it back
Probably the best untapped franchise of them all in my opinion and the original Battlefield Vietnam was way ahead of its time, which is amazing considering it took 11 months to develop.
Hell yeah...
A new BF Vietman would be friggin awesome :p
+Poul Andersen Rising Storm 2 will suit you well if you have a PC
+Jmontezuma 15 I'm fucking ready for Rising Storm 2. Love tripwire's Red Orchestra series and I've always wanted a good Vietnam shooter.
This would be amazing if they make Battlefield Vietnam.. I never got to play the PC version.. Are the servers still active??
If they remake BFV, they need to keep the ability to play songs on the radio.
Paint it black.
Battlefield 2018 anyone? I feel like a Vietnam setting would be a great way to introduce the fun moments of BFV to the newer graphics and destruction engines that Dice has!
Kolton le opérateur its been leaked buddy
I think that beyond just doing Vietnam, or other real-world scenarios, Battlefield needs to do a fully fictional game, with at least 3 factions, all completely different from each other. One would be basically WWII tech, big guns, powerful guns, but low-tech, then a pseudo modern faction and then something with weaker laser guns, each with faction-wide cons and pros, such as better anti vehicle, better armor, etc.
This needs to happen!
I'd like to experience the campaigns in Laos and Cambodia. I gotta know what their war was like! We left Nam in '73 while the North and South kept fighting each other, right? And the Laos campaign kept going ever since the Fall of Saigon.
I think they should add the cobra attack helicopter and other viechles like that, but in different catagories similar to that of Battlefield 4.
i would give my left testicle for battlefield vietnam 2 - just reboot using the same maps, same weapons and vehicles
The original Battlefield Vietnam is not dead, it has more than 32 players on weekends, you should play it, it's more fun than it looks
big map and as levolution when somone lights somthing it speards over dynamicly and whole map changes from jungles to everything burning :3
A Kickass Story Mode like Platoon or Full Metal Jacket would be cool, some Purple Haze, Go Go Dancers,Also some 1960's pop culture Music.
If DICE did make Battlefield Vietnam 2, they should really put the M202 FLASH. That's my favorite rocket launcher and it would be awesome to see it in a Battlefield.
M16A1's a10 warthog gun runs, ak47's frostbite 4? FUCK YEAH!
I also noticed they didn't mention the sks it's a power house
would be cool to see a new vietnam and also have the ingame music. who didnt get cheerfull when jumping into that heli and the speakers blasted out "War"
Wasn't the mat49 already in battlefield vietnam?
nah
Yes
that was the mat29
Why not the Korean War? That would really be a gamechanger, in addition, there has been few, if not almost no FPS where the storyline is set in the war of Korea
I completely agree. 👌🏻
i wish they made battlefield games simple again, like faction only weapons
4:05 ive played both bad company 1 and 2 but ive never seen that clip before. how do you activate it in game?
this would be one of the best battlefield games since a long time ago
STILL BEING PLAYED! We have survived the Gamespy apocalypse and the game is played daily by a dedicated community! Copies of the game are only about $5 on Amazon on Ebay if you need one!
Cool what platform
+Grossey Gross PC
+Spin Lathes Since updating to Win10 I can no longer get on BF V :(
I would want more classes of vehicles, mainly tanks.light, medium, and heavy tanks should all make a return, with each having their ups and downs to each, and a different role. The return of limited ammo for tanks and machine guns would be great as well.
I think they should make "Battlefield Cold War" and have USSR vs USA, USA vs Vietnam, North Vietnam vs South Vietnam and more.
If they can make a battlefield about cops and robbers I feel like they could do something with CIA and KGB spies so I like that idea
PLEASE!!!
the squad in the story of this game could be a group of LRRP Rangers behind enemy lines that would be dope as fuck. and it would shed some light on one of the most bad ass special forces groups in U.S. history
