This video? Meh...! Your album... HOLY MOLY! You kick some serious ass as a singer/songwriter! You deserve to be an internationally renowned artist my man! As a child of the 60s' & 70s', I'm not easily impressed by today's music. I'm humbly blown away by yours! Love it!
Haha, your comment...HOLY MOLY!. Thanks man, that means a lot, seriously. Thanks for taking the time to give it a listen. Now if only a few million others felt the same way as you! Keep rockin
I don't know what to say maybe he should have called this beat it since he's beating the snot out of it. Other than that oh my God. Someone called the doctor
You toured w Tull? That's awesome, saw him back in 79-80 after songs fromthe wood and a 20th year reunion in SanDiego Ampitheatre in the 80's great stuff
Yeah I may not have made that bit clear... My band was on tour when I made the video of TAAB. Haha. A friend of mine got to play at the same festival as Tull one year, but I was never so lucky. Thanks for watching! joshvandiemen.bandcamp.com/
Hey Giuseppe, sorry it takes me a while to respond! I used to do some acoustic sections of A Passion Play many many years ago. I'll have to remember how to play them first! Thanks for watching, feel free to check out my original stuff: joshvandiemen.bandcamp.com/
Very good! I like your version better than Ian A.'s. But you left out the intro. You know the D9's and D11's(I'm pretty sure) in the beginning before "really don't mind if you sit this one out". I would love to hear you do that intro.
Hi Paul, I didnt' bother doing the beginning because I'm pretty sure there are a lot of tutorials for that on youtube already, although not all will be accurate unfortunately... You probably looked already but maybe I'll find a good one and link it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching. I gave Little Red a good listen. Beautiful. Unfortunately arrangement is my achilles heel... I'm good at writing, comes naturally. Putting pieces together to make a cohesive whole - that's another story!
Hey, thanks so much, that means a lot. I never did the whole song because there are so many tutorials already up. Maybe one day. Feel free to check out my original work: joshvandiemen.bandcamp.com/
Hey Stuart, thanks a lot for watching. If you feel inclined, I have a few albums of original music on my channel as well, feel free to check it out. Cheers
That's the name of the string: 9th fret on the "A" string. I'm speaking TAB language for simplicity's sake. The note is "E" but I don't want to assume that everyone watching knows the names of the notes at every fret. Hope that's clear, thanks for watching.
@@Keninoz1 Sweet, never played Maton electric. I bought this in Melbourne in 2007, it's been around the world with me, had a lot of repairs, love it. We now live in Canada.
@@joshwilkinson2875 The electric is a 1962 Maton Mastersound reissue. It's main claim to fame (not mine, unfortunately) is that it was played for a while by George Harrison when he was with The Beatles. He borrowed one when one of his guitars was being repaired & liked it so much he didn't want to give it back. I bought mine about 20 years ago when they were first reissued. I don't think I can post a photo here. I read somewhere recently that Maton are no longer making electric guitars. I bought my acoustic (Maton 325 "Natural Series") new in Sydney 1989. It still sounds great, if not better than when I bought it. Enjoy Canada. Your unique-sounding Aussie guitar will set you apart :) I really liked your Thick as a Brick performance. It's been one of my favourite songs since I first heard it many years ago. Thanks for posting, & for taking the time to respond to my comment.
relax on the strikes. un need noise. has no one EVER suggested playing at the instruments level rather than forcing a strike on a 12 string which are notorious for going out of tune. Try not smashing the fuck out of the chords. 12 strings are sensitive.
You're the guy that played this at loch Lomond? I liked that alot. Class act, man.
Hey mate, yeah that's me. Thanks a lot, appreciate it!
@@JoshBlankSheet That's alright, I appreciate good music. 😃 Keep it up man.

Awesome tutorial!!!! THANK YOU!! Did I mention your incredible playing and guitar tone??? :)
Haha, you may have... Thanks again, I totally appreciate the encouragement and hope it helped.
Incredible version. Would love to hear your other stuff. The picking is exceptional!!

I was amazed by your video at Loch Lomond and I am very glad that you're back on RUclips! What about a tutorial on some sections of "A Passion Play"?

Is there a tutorial for the beginning of the song? I saw your video playing it which was awesome but want to know how you played the beginning.

Nicely recognized :) Are you Aussie?
