Thank you for explaining in such a way it’s easy to understand. I’m a long hauler of nearly 3 years and it’s completely changing my life, I’m unable to work and now classed as disabled, after being a normal working mum. I don’t think I’ll ever recover but feel I could achieve a better standard/quality of life, but need drs to be able to give me the opportunity to get there. Please keep helping us 🙏
I am sorry for your plight I am in the same boat plus lyme disease please dont tell yourself that you wont get better YESS YOU WILL GET BETTER with the right supplements and diet god bless you in your journey to health and peace this wonderful british doctor is new to me and gives hope to people like us greetings from the US I love the british!
This morning I felt COLD (for the first time ever) and exhausted after a slightly larger breakfast than normal. Just some additional berries but without coffee that I always have beforehand. I'm glad he mentioned cortisol. At first, antihistamines helped me a great deal. I'm about to take a pink one for nighttime. Mitochondria control the inflammation response. I felt so much better in the sun this summer they've found red light penetrates and creates melatonin in those cells to repair them at night. I think we'll get better as they keep learning and we keep trying what works for us. Because the inflammation affects the brain, I can feel hopeless, but this often passes quickly later in the day. Mornings are more difficult perhaps related to cortisol they say get light first thing, so I use a SAD light, but sometimes I forget. The new low wattage LED bulbs are not full spectrum some of those red rays we can't see. It's a frustrating puzzle, but one worth solving!
Thank you Doctor Jenkins. You described me perfectly. I got covid in December 2022. I am sixty-six btw. Prior to getting covid I was extremely fit, walking 5 miles every day in just over an hour. I fished a lot and was in great shape. After testing negative I would come downstairs and sit down and pretty soon I would be in a deep sleep. I decided to ease myself back into walking. After three days I had chronic back and leg pain. Blood tests showed a compromised immune system and some issues with white blood cell count. I have a herniation in the L4 and L5 as well as S1 problems. I have been on crutches since then. The fatigue is ever present and small tasks such as showering take a lot out of me. My blood pressure which had always been ok got dangerously high and I am on meds to regulate it. You described the fatigue perfectly, no gas in the tank. Brain fog, flu like symptoms , sleeping problems and the rest also. I'm going to show your video to my GP. Thank you again.
Don't give up. It is worth researching - there are a number of things that can help - thyroid support, heat (very hot Epsom salt/cold baths, saunas), red light/sunlight, B vits, CBD, rest, pacing, diet, D3, vitamin C, UBQ10, magnesium.
Ahw I'm pretty much in the same boat! How are you doing now? I did house chores and suddenly a crash creeped up on me and it's lasting for two days now.
@ hi ya . I was just sitting here with my health anxiety. Because I feel tired in my home I can’t believe I’m ok . When I’m out I’m ok ! I went for a 20 min walk in park . Made me energised ! . I do 12 hour shifts twice a week . I go to restaurant as well this week .. I think I must be ok so why do I feel sooo tired in the house . I know this is our anxiety causing this ! . We symptom check , we tell ourselves we have this or that . After my walk the other day , in the night when I was waking I was sooooo relaxed the way I talked to myself. The next day I was fine . Normal tiredness. But I get all fearful, and then today im tired … we have to not let the fear grip us
@@Ladybird22373 ahw that's amazing that you got out of that!! I think so too, our thoughts can have a lot of power. Personally I have had a complication after covid, my damage organ was damaged and I suffer from PEM a lot. I can only work for about 2 hours without crashing too hard the next days. I do have some progress, but sometimes I suddenly overdo it. I try to remain positive, I just had a CT scan and so far no reason has been found why I should not be able to recover. All best wishes to you🙂
@@Ladybird22373 I think so! I was cleaning out the wardrobe on Saturday and I noticed it was too heavy and my muscles sort of protested. So I quit. Now (Monday) super tired still. I think it's normal fatigue but it lasts for so long. In the summertime it could be there for weeks after overexertion and left me unable to go to do grocery shopping. Did you have that too?
I have MS and therefore thought I knew everything about fatigue. Then I got Covid and since then nothing works. But, brothers and sisters - post-Covid fatigue passes after all. I have learned to seize the day, even if it sometimes feels hopeless.
Thank you for this. I was fine when I had covid but the after effects were awful, it was so bizarre to explain to people. Learning the the impact having glandular fever, vitamin d deficiency and b12 was super useful, as I suffered all three for years.
I was hyper, now 3 years after covid I have extreme fatigue. Ct scan showed 10 nodules, scarring on both lungs. I can take a nap a few hours after waking up. It sucks!
Thank you so much for this video. I have severe fatigue where I can sleep upto 18 hours a day. It's completely ruined my life.. friends and family think I'm just being lazy and need to get out more which I do try and do out of frustration but then I end up bedbound again a few days later and it's a vicious cycle. I am interested in the HBOT but who do I need to speak to as my GP is not very understanding? Can you receive it on the NHS or is it private therapy?
Are you on a low inflammation diet? Have you tried antihistamines? They are inexpensive to try. Histamine can go throughout the body and cause an immune response.
Well I didn't get Long Covid but Igot something very similiar after having private toxicology tests back in 200, that I was actually suffering from Benzene, along with V.OCs exposure & not somatisation...! So going by this it will be a considerable amount of time...................:-(
@philandriawilliams2040 yes. One more thing. Getting to the gym, eating watermelon very early in the morning before any meal and a positive mindset helped out very much.
He nailed every single point! That’s me! I mean literally every single point!

Don't give up. What I read today was, the fatigue might be the body's immune system attempting to give the body the rest it needs.

Great knowledge ❤ it means alot to us patients who are suffering
My 14 year old daughter is going through this. Its heartbreaking to see this.
Long Covid does not exist, it is vaccine injury!

You'll have to go private. No chance with the NHS.

Nearly 4 years of torture and counting 😩
One year and counting for me
Same here. June 2020... No light in sight...
Suffering since Jan ‘21, second bout of COVID made me worse.
No end in sight. 😔.
So I get temporarily better when I take the vitamin b12. But unfortunately doesn't last.
Kindly get in touch because I am very very devasted.
Any luck? I’m desperate for answers

Mine lasted over a year
This is like general fatigue on steroids.
As long as the sun keeps blasting us with radiation poisoning
Girl what? What kind of tin foil hat are you talking about?
ME/cfs (chronic fatigue syndrome) is the same as long covid or post covid. ME/cfs is only caused by another virus such as Ebstein Barr virus.
